I came here as I was visiting Destin for the first time. My friend's baby turned 2 and well our baby Azul follows shortly after. We chose it with little expectations as it just seemed like an oversold idea of a Mexican restaurant in Destin. The named also was our child's name so it was cool. The drinks was really good had the margarita and a blonde beer. The food was all super delicious we had a mixture of shrimp taco and beef tacos, and the Mediterranean pizza. We didn't think all the flavors were going to be on point, but they superseded my expectations. From the guac that my son smashed to the salsa that comes free to the queso dip all to start us up. The service was great quick and super friendly. Even offered us a free ahot for celebrating the babies birthday. That was nice, we needed it. Ambiance was next to the water which is nice and if you go on Thursday when they do fireworks it's even cooler cause you get a pretty good view from your chair or just standing up and taking a break to go see them. read more

My brother and I got the shark cup, mine was sweet tea his was fruit punch. I got a cheeseburger . My dad got the kabobs. This one server was so nice he told my dad how to eat his meal correctly. He was kind and good to chat with. A lead waiter saw we weren't getting assisted and checked on us once and our assigned waitress didn't know the menu and didn't understand our order and didn't deliver any food and brought out one drink, only when asked. The lack of other customers was the first clue. They were out of some seafood items, so got chicken instead. The chicken tasted old & had a weird texture. My dining partner had beef tacos & said they were mediocre. The menu is a confusing mix of Mexican & Middle Eastern foods (both of which we usually love). We visited from California and ended up eating at Azul Mediterranean twice during our trip... which says everything. This was honestly one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. The food was incredible--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was consistently amazing, and you can tell there's real pride behind what's coming out of the kitchen. What stood out just as much was the atmosphere and service. It felt welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully run. You can feel when a place is special, and this is one of those spots. We went back a second time because we couldn't stop thinking about it--and it somehow exceeded expectations again. If we lived here, this would be a regular place for us. Truly a standout. read more

The nachos made me gag, and the tacos were trash. I've never felt the need to write a review before, but I genuinely had to warn people about how bad this experience was. This was the first restaurant of our trip and it was a huge let down! The view was amazing. Nothing beats a water view. The food: Chips and Salsa: Chips were standard, salsa was bland. Street Corn: It was pretty good Flight of Dips: Guacamole was good, seafood Parm was ok, Street corn was good, Queso was alright. Azul Bowl w/ Mahi - Rice was HARD. Mahi was overcooked and DRY. The salsa in it was cold and the it all off. It was pretty terrible. Mediterranean Bowl w/ Shrimp - shrimp was tiny and super salty. Another failed dish. Taquitos- Over fried and minimal filling. Son says it tastes like eggroll and not tortilla. Service was alright. Waiter was friendly, but refills needed to be asked for and silverware took way too long to get. Place wasn't busy either. The Food was sooooo good. I got the quesadilla to share. I wasn't too hungry so i thought it was the perfect size. But it is only a half of a full size. The service was good. It was a tad bit slow to get food however, definitely worth it. The vibe was good. There is a marina area that is good for sunset photos. The outside seats for a bigger group are couches. This beautiful grandiose restaurant sits at the end of the Harbor Walk. Filled with various types of seating such as bar stool height to lounge couches facing the water, you can see all types of vessels coming in and out of the harbor just before the bridge by crab Island. Even on a cloudy drizzly late afternoon, we enjoyed our entire stay as the outdoor seating is covered by very high awnings. The entire staff was super friendly, professional, and efficient. The food is prepared very quickly, getting our food probably in less than 10 minutes after we ordered, but we did just order appetizer type entrées. We ordered the guac which was absolutely delicious along with chicken wings and street corn. Unfortunately, my daughter took a risk and ordered the chicken Shawarma taco bowl and she felt it was exceptionally bland and ate less than a quarter of her meal. We ordered two espresso martinis and a virgin drink in a watermelon, which was delicious. I gave four stars because when we gave the feedback for the chicken Shawarma taco bowl, it was not a surprise to the server. We wish we would have been advised in advance that it can be a bit bland and it's not necessarily a popular or well reviewed meal. We were not offered a different meal (even if we would have paid, which to me offering alternative when your meal or drink is subpar, is 5 star status). Additionally, one of the two espresso drinks tasted more like a light espresso with very little "martini". When we ordered a 2nd one the server was sure to advise the bartender to make it better, it was good. We ordered these espresso martinis because we definitely needed a little pep in our step, but it's not a drink that I would highly recommend here. Next time I visit (because we would definitely go back there again) I would try some of their other drink drinks. read more

This place sucks. I have lived here for 7 years and this is probably the worst restaurant I've ever ate at. We got 2 different alcoholic drinks that came after we got the check and were awful. One of them was even warm. We also got two appetizers one of them was the taquitos and they weren't awful but not worth the price. We got the Mexican corn which came cold and clumpy not edible. Then we got the burger that's dunked in cheese. Absolutely terrible. We got our water after they started picking up plates. Service was bad. The people weren't bad but they were not helpful. Like how do we get the first thing we ordered (our alcoholic drinks) after we get the check? And the waters after all the food was served. I'd say the worst part of the whole thing was the warm drink that was 18 dollars, extremely small. The only reason why this is a 2 start and not a 1 was because of the scenery. If you want to chill and have a drink here by the water idk what to say because they might just give it to you after it's been sitting somewhere long enough for the ice to melt and for it to get warm. Have been here twice before; they were always out of the avocado fritters, but thankfully they had them this time as it was the only good thing we got.... Ordered the arayo? It was burnt. That's all we could taste was burnt bread. Our dog didn't even like it. The barbacoa quesadilla was just ok, lack of flavor in everything, and very greasy. Do not go here, sat down took 15 minutes for our waiter to realize she was on planet earth and come to our table. After we ordered she barely spoke english brought out our appetizer after our entree our food beat my beer out it was truly one of the worst experiences.
