Decided to get some late night tacos (8pm), we've been to a few other taco spots here in Destin and…read moredecided to try this place out. Big mistake. First of all the spot is kinda hidden from all the main streets which are usually the best tacos spots, the little "hole in the wall" spots, but it wasn't. I was planning to send my wife and her friends for the tacos while the boys stay playing cards, we ended up going and it's a good thing we did. As soon as we get there there is a few men standing outside like 4 and they are drinking it up. I jumped out the truck and they straight up stared at me. Not a good sign off a female was by herself. Ok so I went inside and right off the bat another 6 men playing pool and drinking heavy. Hmmm.. nobody manning the taco shop on the inside and only one employee in the cash register with a line of a few people getting chips and house supplies. So then I thought what in the world kind of establishment is this??! So the lady said that there was no one to man the taco shop so I said why does it say open on google. I just left and I don't recommend going at night or let alone go by yourself or as a woman.

For me this was a food adventure, typical Latin grocery store with a food counter, not much in…read moreenglish but both the counter and register spoke perfect english so no problems. Gringos are not the typical client but doesn't bother me, I enjoy being a bit confused and enjoying some authentic food, this is not a typical Mexican restaurant, more of a basic food truck menu, simple, quick and tasty. I tried the carnitas tacos and my wife had a strak quesadilla, bottle of water and a canned lemonade drink. I loved the food and vibe, my wife not so much but we left with full stomachs and a light bill. Have fun and try this out, real community feel, no frills but authentic high quality chow. Recommend and I will return!

We came for happy hour!!…read more Complementary chips & salsa 10/10 - Chips: The chips were fantastic. I loved how thin and crispy they were. And they broke into smaller pieces so nice too. - Salsa: The salsa was delicious, my husband wanted to drink it he loved it so much lol. Happy hour $5 tacos! You get 2 tacos included in this deal. You also can choose between flour or corn shells. We chose flour. Such a fantastic deal!! - Pollo 10/10 Grilled chicken, pico, lettuce, cheese, cilantro sour cream- everything about this taco was amazing. I would eat this every day if I could. - Al pastor 9/10 Pork, pineapple, onion, cilantro, queso fresco- I actually don't think there was any onion on it, but either way it was good. The pineapple paired really well with the pork. The green sauce on the side is spicy, I'm glad it's on the side and you can add at your own risk. - Carnitas 8/10 Pulled pork, cilantro, onion- I know it says pulled pork, but there really wasn't any difference in the meat between the al pastor and the carnitas. This one was my least favorite. It was just kinda plain, and I wish it had some type of sauce or queso or just something to make it better. They did have the spicy green sauce on the side, just was too spicy for me. Dos Amigos 10/10 - Queso Blanco 10/10 Yummy cheese dip! - Guacamole 10/10 Good balance of everything. No spice at all.

Came here based on the great reviews. I should have gone by the photos instead. This is one of…read morethose places that tries to be an upscale Mexican restaurant but completely misses the mark. I had the brisket tacos, and the flavor combinations were just bad. The lime did not work with the dish at all either. The dip sampler was unbelievable. The elote was a cup of mayo with corn dumped on top. They could not even be bothered to mix it together or add ANY seasoning. It was a complete joke. The burrito was okay, but it probably should not have had guacamole in it. Once again, the flavors just did not work well together. Speaking of the guacamole, the chips were so paper thin they could not even hold up to scooping it. Again, mid. The service was disappointing too. There were no food runners, so our food was barely warm by the time it reached the table. Our server said no to two easy requests that would have added more to the bill. He had too many tables as well. The restaurant itself was clean and looked nice, and the prices were reasonable. In ending, the salsa was weak, and that was the first sign this meal was going to be disappointing. Needless to say, I would not come back even if the meal were free, and that says everything.
