Food was good. Service was ok. A little pricey for me compared to other Mexican food in the area.

The service was excellent, waitress was friendly, fast, and attentive. When you first walk in you are hit in the face with a strong kerosene like smell, it made me wonder why it smells like that indoors. The chips and salsa were disappointing. The salsa is sweet and the chips are very tick and stale tasting. Despite this, I ordered nachos which came with fresh crispy thin chips. The nachos themselves had all of the cheese melted on one side, the guacamole served with it had oxidation coloring and the toppings were all in separate piles on the chips. We came in Wednesday for a family birthday dinner celebration. We had a pretty big party and it took just a few minutes for them to accommodate our large party with a table. Our server was amazing and food was all delicious. Came out hot and tasty! The queso was also delish! read more

We have eaten at La Paz many times. The food is delicious! The seafood and all ingredients are so fresh. I love the shrimp tostada and the fish tacos. The homemade margaritas are very tasty also! La Paz offers a quaint and intimate setting for 2, 4, 6+. You may want to review the menu ahead online, the lighting is a little low, but super cozy. We had a party of 8, service was excellent! SO GOOD. I eat here every time I come to Destin and it is always amazing. I always get seated right away and the service is very quick. Servers are always very nice at attentive. Great ambiance and atmosphere very low key and relaxed. The food is always amazing. We get the Spinach queso which is heavenly. I always get the Burrito Gordo with beef and it is perfect. The food and service was good. I normally would give an establishment a least 3 stars for this alone. The reason I down rated it to a 1 star is the added 'gratuity' of 18%. This is a not a gratuity, as a gratuity is freely given as appreciation of service. This is a line item. The ironic thing is, is that I was fully ready to give a 22% gratuity. I think this is probably the best Mexican spot of the four that I've been to in Destin. I ordered their campeones (a red snapper fish). The service at the bar was nice as well. I was pretty surprised for how busy it was on a Tuesday night in the off season. It didn't get five stars because I think for $32+, the quality of ingredients could be improved. read more

I'm not one to give 5 stars normally but this place deserves it based on the food we had and the service. First things first, we were here Tuesday evening of Spring break week for many schools so lots of vacation people! Was told an hour 15 minute wait, which is fine bc most places were having that kind of wait. We grabbed margaritas (which are $4 on Tuesday nights) some chips and salsa and sat outside to wait. Delicious chips and salsa and a strong margarita. We got sat and there was a wait before it was figured out who our server would be, so the manager came over and offered us a free round of drinks, which was very nice. Now for the food: Queso: Good standard white cheese dip you can get at Mexican restaurants. Phat Boy Burrito- Husband loved it. Fish Taco-Husband also loved it and said one of the best he has had. Might have had to do with the fresh Cobia Fish. I had the grilled catch of the day which was Cobia and had been caught that morning and it was AMAZING! I had it was the grilled mushrooms over the cabbage (first choice on the menu) and might have been one of the best fish dishes ever. Mango salsa was a nice touch to it. We took churros home as we were stuffed and they were also delicious. We also had a great waitress and there was live music on Tuesdays! Will return if we are in the area! read more

Chose this due to location , ratings, and very busy. First we were sat in a separate little room where the light was so bad. We finally turned on our phone flashlight to read menu. We asked for a better table but got declined. I ordered a chicken Chimichanga with rice n beans. Didn't care for chicken inside, not much flavor and just square chunks. Ended up eating only outside crust part. What husband ordered, he really didn't care much for either. Chips tasted really stale. For a Tuesday night they were packed. Everyone seemed to be having a good time but us. Maybe a Stiff drink would of made it all taste better. Lots of Mexican places in area, this one just not for us. read more

Good food! My granddaughter got a cheeseburger. She said it was the best she'd ever had. At 16 bucks, it should have been! My daughter and wife had California Quesadilla; my wife added chicken. They give you plenty of chips and salsa- everyone gets their own bowl, but they charge you for the cheese dip if you order it. 12 bucks, but my daughter said it was worth it. We stumbled upon this place while in Destin, FL a couple of weeks ago. It felt more like a "local" restaurant than some of the other places we dined. We sat at the bar, but the places was bustling and I believe on a wait. Out of the places we dined, the staff here were by far the friendliest. It seemed people all knew each other, to me those are the kind of places you want to go to! Just ate at this place. It's EMPTY for a reason. Skip past this one and go to one of the many other good restaurants in Destin. Food bland and service is the worst! It's not authentic Mexican or even decent Tex Mex if that's what they're going for. Taco Bell would be a better choice tbh. And the teenager hostess and teen wait staff was rude and not service oriented in the slightest. Not sure how this place stays in business. read more

This is our second time eating here. We are not local but if we were this would for sure be on our monthly rotation. We have never had to wait, which is a huge plus for us (it's always been a Sunday or Monday). We drive by the popular touristy places with long waits. Not us-look for the local, smaller business where the service is awesome and the food is hot. The husband got the fish tacos-which he loved. The fish was grilled with a fresh slaw type topping with cilantro. Came with a lime wedge and some creamy sauce on the side. Husband rates 10/10. I ordered the ground beef chimichanga. Heaven on a plate if your into a golden, lightly fried delicious burrito. Red Chile sauce on the side for me. Both plates came with rice and beans. Mine also had pico and guacamole. Yum.
