We stayed at The Shores Resort and checked in late in the evening. We were starving after our flights. We decided to just opt for dinner downstairs. Unfortunately, we were told that they didn't have any of the dinner food we were wanting, but had their lunch menu instead. We both ordered burgers, and my husband got onion rings and I got fries. The burgers were great. We loved eating with a view of the ocean. It was annoying that the onion rings were an upcharge and the burgers were $20 for a single patty. My husband and I just came from dinner. We're in Daytona to look at a condo for vacation. We live in Athens Georgia but if we buy an apartment we will be regulars here. We had delicious appetizers. The whitefish dip and the tuna martini. Both were excellent. For my entree I had the fried cod with sweet potato fries and my husband had the fried shrimp, regular fries and sautéed spinach. Stayed at The Shores and ate almost every meal at Azure. The food is very good and the servers are all great. We had the grilled cheese and grilled Mahi sandwiches for lunch and both were delicious. The sweet potato fries were fresh and crispy but the regular fries were a bit over salted and barely warm. For dinner we shared a mango and walnut salad which was plenty for two people and the honey sherry vinaigrette really makes the dish. The hummus is so fresh and delicious that we had some during a dinner and ordered some to go for later. The fish and steaks are good as well. Our only issue was at brunch when the food was not hot. They got this worked out pretty quickly once they were aware. There is a huge variety at brunch including an omelette and eggs Benedict station. Overall, we love eating here and have enjoyed it during a couple of visits to The Shores. Great views from inside or outside seating. read more

We chose dinner here for the night. The valets are quick and polite. Our drinks were very good, and the bartender actually came outside and asked us if our drinks were to our satisfaction. Nice wine list. Inside bar could use a better beer selection. Wedge salad was a lot of fun and flavor. Mango salad was really good. Calamari good and hot. NY steak to perfection and mashed potatoes were 11 out of 10. Veggies (carrots, broccoli, green beans) were undercooked. Bread, oops ...only two small rolls, but hot and ok. The ladies attending the tables were fun & beautiful. Decor inside the lobby is old beach racing and tropical, paying homage to the local racing history. Makes one remember they're in Daytona Beach, not just Florida. Tiki tenders were very nice guys. The music on the outside patio was well-chosen and at the right volume level. Patio seemed empty and could use more decor. When in Daytona, we'll choose this place again! read more

We had a 1:30 mother's day reservation for about 15. The whole party is there ready for table 5 min early. We are told we can sit outside on the patio (hot and humid - hard no) because we didn't choose a table on open table prior to today. I called and spoke to someone three different occasions prior as part of setting up the res. The start time was never allowed to move even though I asked. And choosing a table on open table was never mentioned. Back to mother's day: We ask to see a manager. 1st mgr comes out and says we can sit outside or wait. Not getting warm and fuzzy vibes. We are waiting patiently and see two table open up and ask if we will be seated. The host and then the 1st mgr both say a party has been at the bar since noon and they would get the table. Turns out they had a 2pm res. We remind them that's not how reservations work. Since we had 130 res and it was 1:45, we should get the table. with no success. We ask for 2nd mgr who is very polite and ended up getting us set up on the tables. She did the right thing. I tried getting an earlier res during two of my live calls on prior days when we needed to adjust our party size and was told we had to stick with our original time of 1:30. I guess the insiders know all you have to do is show up and sit at the bar. The food was ok at best. Not worth the $55.95 plus 18% mandatory tip. (buffet) Would not eat here again. read more

I had the garlic parmesan and they were absolutely delicious. I was definitely hungry, but I would say they were the best garlic parmesan wings. I've tried anywhere and they really hit the spot. Stopped by this restaurant on my drive back up to NC from west palm beach during Memorial Day weekend. I didn't realize it was located inside a resort right on the beach, but the staff was friendly and they offer free valet if you eat at the restaurant, even if you aren't a guest at the resort. Nice! Service was friendly, although, not the fastest, but understandable during a holiday. We sat outside with a gorgeous view of the beach, the hotel pool as well as cute tiki bar. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and the bf, chicken club. The blackened shrimp in the taco was quite salty, so much so that I couldn't eat the other two. Hence, the reasoning of removing one star. Other than that, everything was great! The bf seemed to love his chicken club as it was gone before I was able to take a picture, lol pleasant staff, beautiful scenery and location. All I can say is wow! We had a great dinner experience here. We had reservations at 5:30 and got seated right away. Our waitress Holly was excellent. She was quick, gave us everything we needed, and had an excellent sense of humor. For appetizers we got the soft pretzel with beer cheese and whole grain mustard, the fried calamari, the short rib poutine, and the risotto balls. Everything was absolutely delicious. We especially loved the poutine. It was so good, by boyfriend ordered another poutine for his main meal. For entrees, I got the fish and chips. It was perfectly battered and came with thick fish filets. My family got the three cheese pizza, the herb roasted half chicken, the NY strip steak, and the Caesar salad. Again, everything was incredible! For my drink, I got a lavender cocktail that was absolutely delicious! From first sip to final bite, this meal was wonderful. No better way to enjoy breakfast than overlooking the ocean. We were there during the breakfast rush, but the server was still very attentive and friendly. We were given the choice of indoor or outdoor seating and opted to sit outside, enjoying the view of the ocean from our seats. They offered a buffet, which included coffee and a mimosa, in addition to an omelette station and all of the other basic breakfast options, but we chose to order off of the menu. I had two eggs over easy with hashbrowns and wheat toast. The eggs were a little runny for my liking but the hashbrowns were perfectly browned and everything was served hot. My friend ordered a vegetable omelette with cheddar cheese and a side of bacon and was pleased with both items. The restaurant inside the hotel is ok good tasted good and they didn't take too long to serve. I had the glazed salmon with jasmine rice and it was delicious. I would get that 100 times again. My wife on the other hand ate the steak which was not very good and cooked to long. She ordered it middle well but they brought out something that was a little burnt. One thing I must say is that they provided us a free dessert for her not liking the meal. The wine was really good but the s'more dessert wasn't. The chocolate cake in the s'more didn't have any flavor to it and I wouldn't order it again. The lobster macaroni and cheese was excellent. What a great dining experience! Located inside a resort/hotel, they have a lovely indoor seating or outdoor seating area. We chose outdoors as it was a lovely evening and wanted to hear the waves crash the shoreline while we ate. The host was very kind when we arrived and Our waiter Marcus was great and very personable. The table bread is a delicious light sourdough and if I had to guess probably made in house, it was delicious! My husband had the grouper and I, the filet Oscar. Both were amazing and my steak was cooked to perfection. Wish we had had an appetite for dessert but were too full, perhaps next time. Lovely setting:) read more

We chose Azure for our Christmas Day Brunch, the decision to come here was based on several things including recommendations by a few friends and the close proximity to where we live, not so much pricing, the total for the two us including the 18% gratitude plus an extra twenty for our wonderful servers Dottie and Matt came to about one hundred-forty dollars. We arrived for our 11:00 AM reservation and took the elevator to the roof where we were immediately greeted by the hostess and escorted to table number 35 a window-side table for two that was elegantly set with a white linen table cloth and very nice silverware unfortunately the window was still shattered from Hurricane Matthew. Matt arrived within seconds to offer water and the first of our unlimited Mimosas (which were quite good by the way). The food was presented in a separate room adjacent to the dining area and actually seemed quite limited for the occasion in my opinion. The carving stations offered turkey, lamb, prime rib and ham that were sliced extremely thin and barely warm. There were a few salads and a vegetable casserole with some fingerling potatoes but no dressing of any type which surprised me. There was a pasta station available as well that was marginally okay but no omelette or crepe stations which are normally standard fare for a holiday brunch, actually there were no breakfast items of any type, that's not a bad thing, I guess I didn't read the menu so that's on me. The experience was a little disappointing in regards to the selections available and the quality of the food in my opinion. The seafood was just okay as were the desserts, we were told they were all made the day before so with the exception of the wonderful bread pudding the others were dry and course instead of the velvety moist selections you normally find. The dining room never filled beyond half capacity during our visit and just didn't give one the impression that this was a brunch that was very popular even though there are limited options in the area. I think we'll return to the downtown Orlando area for holiday brunch in the future if we decide to stay local. I'm sure others have had similar or better experiences here in the past but I feel the over-all value is somewhat of a let down... read more

This was one of the first places we ate once we checked in. After we dropped off our bags, we headed back downstairs to this restaurant. Our server was nice and bubbly. She asked if we wanted to eat outside or inside. We stayed inside this time and had an awesome view. We ordered calamari for an appetizer. They were crisp and had a different taste from the usual calamari out there. It seemed as though it had a citrus-y twist to it. I had the Ribeye entree and hubs had the Grouper entree. My ribeye was cooked perfectly but I felt that the seasonings were lacking. I felt like was was eating moist, juicy flavorless meat. I had to ask for steak sauce just to get some kind of flavor going. My asparagus were grilled perfectly and my mashed potatoes were very try and they crumbled as I tried to place on a fork and then a spoon. I had to mix the potatoes with the pink peppercorn sauce on the bottom of my plate to hold everything together. Hubs black truffle mac and cheese was delicious. It looked heavy, but it was very light and cheesy. His grouper was delicious. We ordered dessert and I had the creme brulee and he had the rum cake. The creme brulee was nice and creamy and tasty. The rum cake.....wow! That is a winner indeed. Packed with flavor and the fruits and creme fraiche really take it to the next level and beyond. Please try the rum cake people. The next morning we decided to give breakfast a try. Breakfast was awesome. We ate outside and was sitting right there on the deck looking right out into the ocean. We started off with mimosas. Very delicious.I felt like it was way more Champagne than orange juice but what the hey? I had the Crab Cake Benedict, grits bacon and a vanilla latte. Hubs had the same thing minus the bacon. The hollandaise was perfectly made and the crab cake wasn't dry. The boar's head bacon is yummy and those grits were very creamy. I can't wait to come back and have breakfast and desserts again. I would like to try their happy hour. These people have breakfast and desserts down packed. Who knows, maybe I will give dinner another chance another day. read more

Odd blends, miss used spices, application of sauces, and misfortunate abuse of salt made the meal unforgettable. But the company and celebration at hand clouded any need to complain. This is a great place to dine even if you're not staying at the hotel for the mere fact that there is access to a tiki bar and the beach. Honestly, I'm not sure what would stop you from using the pool while you're at it. At the tiki bar, I ordered a kids cheeseburger since I wasn't that hungry and laid out on a chair. Later, I ordered the 14 dollar fondue and had no idea it had lobster in it until the name 'lobster fondue' appeared on the check. If there is lobster I was clueless. I didn't finish it but good grief this app was straight cream and cheese heart attack. When I was done I really considered going to my room and taking a long nap. It was that type of dish. Instead, my guilt sunk in and I hit the gym hard. The best advice for the lobster fondue is share it with four people if they really love cheese. It wasn't much of a fondue at all and more of a dip mixed with peppers. There was chips and bread pitas to dip with. Very friendly servers and the bar was fun to sit with. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed the service, our waitress was the sweetest! I only wish I could remember her name, but she was awesome and prompt! I highly recommend the Bloody Mary bar, there were so many condiments and garnishes to choose from. We tried the Bloody Mary house mix and the chipotle mix but would probably choose Zing Zang next time. We also had the crab cake Benedict and the frittata. I would get the Benedict again but the frittata was bland and didn't have much lobster in it. read more

The food is actually pretty good. So I gave them two stars but the service really should only be one... Having eaten three meals here during our stay I feel like I gave them plenty of opportunity to make it right. They are incredibly inattentive and just plain rude. Talking about your customers in front of them and other customer is not a good way to do business. The resort is nice but the horrible service at the bar, on the patio, and even the restaurant is inexcusable. I am editing this because I did speak to the manager and he was very apologetic and tried to make the situation better. Our waitress was awesome, the kitchen still is slow but she made the wait pleasant. In general I do still think there needs to be some training for the staff or possibly more staff. But I do appreciate the manager and the waitress and what they did for us. read more

The worst service I've received in a very very long time! Our waitress only came to our table 3 times during our entire dinner. My medium rare steak came out well done, and looked like a hockey puck. Our server wouldn't know, because she never came back to check on us. The inside of the restaurant was empty, but everyone was running around in the weeds. The manager did take it off the bill, but by time I could get anyone to come to our table, it was 20 minutes after our food arrived. It was too late, so I left dinner hungry. Never again! read more

Brought the family here for Thanksgiving. They call it a brunch but it was our dinner. The meal is a buffet located on their roof top location. When we booked, we thought that meant outside but it is actually indoors with large picture windows of the shores. Absolutely stunning views. It is a buffet with a really nice selection. We have some pescatarians in our group so I called ahead to make sure that they would have entree items other than meat available. They sure did. They had a seafood bar with shrimp and snow crab legs, an omelette station, salmon filet, carving stations with turkey, prime rib and ham, breads, pastries, salad, hot veggies and desserts. Plenty to choose from for all! The snow crabs legs were a real treat. You had to work a bit to get the meat out but it was totally worth it. They had melted butter for dipping and lemon for squeezing. They had shell crackers available but no cocktail forks. Our waiter said that they only have about ten on the whole property. I would highly recommend that they order a bunch of them. They would have been most useful. The peel and eat shrimp were cooked perfectly and they had plenty of cocktail sauce available. The mashed potatoes had mixed reviews from our table. They were a balsamic mashed potato and I loved them. Others at our table would have preferred a traditional mashed potato because they thought these to be too tangy. I thought the balsamic to be very subtle. We all thought the sweet potatoes too sweet. The prime rib was excellent but I would have liked some horseradish cream sauce to go along with it. The turkey was fine but could have been just a touch juicier. I was in love with the yeast rolls! They were a rosemary yeast bread and so soft and chewy. With some butter spread on top it was a perfect mouthful. For dessert I tried the pumpkin roll, the cheesecake shot and a mini pumpkin pie. The pumpkin roll was by far my may favorite. It was really nice and moist and I loved the cream cheese frosting rolled inside. Others at the table who had the pecan pie found it disappointing. This is a champagne brunch so the champagne and mimosas were unlimited! Whoo Hoo! In the beginning it was a bit difficult to get the servers to refill but they might have just been on a shift change because they did improve as the meal went on. We all agreed that this was a terrific Thanksgiving feast and we would all do it again! read more
