I LOVE ALMONDS…read more Found these guys at the Civic Center farmers market that's right outside my school. Walked by and they had SO MANY ALMONDS. Oh my god they had a lot of almonds. I love the Applewood Smoked ones.. they taste like bacon. They have their usualy 4/$20 deal so I decided to pick a bunch of randoms. I tested the raspberry and sesame seed ones and I kinda liked them so I decided to get them too and then threw in some trail mix to fill in that last spot. I shouldn't've filled in the last spot with trail mix because the almonds were roasted and were very soft and had an unattractive texture in my mouth. The almonds in the trail mix are nowhere near the quality of the almonds in those.. amazing.. applewood.. smoked.. almonds. (Just my preference, I'm sure there are people that love the soft almonds just as much as the hard ones.) This is the only place I come to get flavored almonds. They're definitely my favorite :D

No more sample tray so you can judge for yourself. And the new man manning the stand is certainly not the cheerful face of the operation. They used to always have friendly and helpful (I always assumed they were local ag students) people working there. I hope this is a temporary situation. I used to stop every time I drove past. Now I don't even bother.

There are many such stands in this area, all…read morevisible as you travel eastward from Manteca on Hwy 120, but after stopping at 4 of them, this one impressed me as having far better quality than most, and more choices. They carry beautiful, locally grown produce, but they have so much more to offer. Our first great find here was their fresh and frozen fruit pies made by The Pie Company, a well-known, local business located in nearby Ripon. We are already big fans of this pie manufacturer because they supply their frozen pies to some of the larger Ace Hardware stores in our area, too. We live in So Cal, but we can pick up the exact same pies they make and sell here in Ripon/Manteca. We swear by them, especially the peach, apricot, and blackberry. They taste homemade and are piled full of naturally ripened fruit with very little sugar so the fresh fruit flavors shine through. While the crust is more thick than I usually prefer, I decided their crust is one of the better ones. Such a treat! Another find here was the wonderful array of flavored vinegars and honeys. The fig balsamic vinegar is amazing. So good, we returned the next day to bring a few more bottles home with us. There are several local brands to choose from. And then, check out the refrigerator section. If you see products from Long Ranch, this is a local pig ranch that has prize-worthy, thick cut, perfectly smoked bacon that has brought me to tears. Their bacon is heavenly. If I ever get a do-over, I would grab some of everything I see from this Ranch. Since we were on a road trip, we grabbed a few snacks. The sesame sticks, packaged under their own label, are so fresh and delicious. They have many other snack options that carry their label. Bet they are all really good. I am so impressed with the quality of the products they sell, I only wish I lived closer. I'd be a regular here.

It's at the corner of Jack Tone Rd and 120 highway, pretty busy corner traffic wise. Lots of cars in the parking lot so good location! They have lots of probably locally grown fresh fruits and packages of nuts/kettlecorn/trail mix also! But back to what brought us here: fruit pies! And there's a ton of them in an assortment of fresh fruit flavors! I noticed apple, peach, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry, blackberry, boysenberry, mixed berries, apricot, cherry, and probably a few others but since I'm a berries lover I got the boysenberry. Here's where I have mixed feelings: the pies are visually well made using a hand formed buttery crust and lightly sprinkled sugar topping; give it a 4.5 out of 5. The boysenberry filling was very flavorful but too gooey imo, if the chefs cut back on the thickening agent it would be much better; 2.5 out of 5. The cooked outer crust could have been a bit darker/browner but it was cooked through. I would consider another try because I love fruit pies, maybe it was a mistake. And if the return trip for a boysenberry pie ended up being the same, the next one would be apple or something. As they say, YMMV

When we arrived for Mother's Day, we…read morewere initially treated rather rudely by a young gentleman named Matt, who told us we did not have a reservation when we know we did. We had to regroup and were headed to another place when we got a call back from The Fruityard stating that they had our reservation down under a different name because it was written down wrong and could not be deciphered. Matt was very rude to us at the beginning when we checked in a very condescending tone. He should definitely not be THR person who greets guests when they check in as his demeanor is deplorable! What saved the day for us was our server, Shelley, whose constant attention and sense of humor were fantastic! Her menu suggestions were all spot on, our water glasses never got under half full and she brought smiles to all of our faces. We all enjoyed our menu choices, and the salad bar was fantastic as always!

My husband and I were seated all the way in the back by an exit door when other tables were available. The decor and look of this place is old and not in a charming diner sort of way. It does not feel clean. The little pond out front needs fresh water, little water covered in algae in there currently. The food was bad. We both order tri tip sandwiches and the meat was chewy and dry. The fries were ok. Even my iced tea was overly sweet. Next time I am in Modesto, I will try a different restaurant.

We were late to our reservation, however, one of the owners was so nice to accommodate. This was the most perfect day to be there for a first time or 5th time. weather was perfect. Outside pizza vendor was 1.5 hours out on orders. so we stopped in the little store and found excellent crackers and cheese to hold us off. I heard the Genoa bread was amazing from a Modesto bakery. But, sold out:( you pay for everything and the. Bring to your server and they put it all on a charcuterie board and bring to your table. I really enjoyed their Chardonnay on this rather hot day. People were dancing, drinking, eating and socializing. It was great! the wildflowers on the grounds are so beautiful! They have games to play. And dogs are welcome! Check out all my photos. I'm giving this 4 stars only because I think it's ridiculous to not be prepared and offer pizza as your only vendor and wait 1.5 hours knowing you are completely booked for the day. and, the pizza was really thin, hardly any cheese we could see or taste. Basil was less than appetizing to look at, but we were starving. So we ate every paste bite. I think it would have been nice to offer fresh Apples, pears or grapes in the store for the charcuterie boards. You have to try their soft Jalapeno cheese in the cold case!!! It was delish w/the crackers from Rustic oven. I loved the store... the 2 guys who do the treasures with grapevines are incredible. I can't wait to take a class. Parking is awesome if you can get under the covered area. Bathrooms are clean. This definitely is a must to visit. highly recommend:)
