I have heard SO MANY mixed reviews on this place, so I had to come try it out for myself. as someone who frequented this deli for YEARS, I stopped coming here when hearing the food was awful since they changed owners. But, NEW OWNER ALERT!!! I have to say .. the food is good! I talked with the new owner, who said they just took over on the 10th. He also said they use quality meat!!! (Not the cheap stuff - yuck) I'll be the first to say absolutely give this place a try! If you've never been, they specialize in huge sandwiches -- I got the "breakfast special" which is a pork roll egg and cheese with French fries on a roll. I really enjoyed it. For years and years, this place used to be the best deli in town. New ownership has ruined this place. I just bought a 6" pastrami Sandwhich for 8.50 that was literally all bread and 3 skimpy pieces of meat inside. No sauce, cheese, NOTHING. Also ordered an Italian sub and the Italian had barely any meat or cheese inside. For a 12" sub there was literally a half slice of provolone and salami on both sides of the sandwhich. So 1 full slice of salami and 1 full slice of cheese for a 12 inch sub. What a joke So if you are looking to spend 8 dollars on 2 slices of ham, 1 piece of salami , 1 piece of cheese and a bunch of lettuce and bread this is the sandwich or you!!! Also who the *^%* puts mayonnaise on an Italian sub??? I am beyond dissatisfied with the three sandwiches I ordered here. I spent 30 dollars on subs and my family is still hungry. read more

B&C stands for Boogers and Covid. I got on video, the guy behind the counter digging for gold while watching his phone. The store was empty, I was outside in my car, and he didn't realize anyone was watching. He's from the same group of guys who didn't wear masks at the height of covid but had a sign on the door enforcing that all customers had to wear one. A damn rip off!!!! I ordered a waffle & sausage & oj. They charged me $16 and some change for 1 waffle, 1 sausage & oj. The waffle alone was $10.75. That is a lot for 1 waffle. And i already know oj can be a bit pricey. I will NEVER EVER order food from there again. read more

Definitely the worst sub sandwich. They didn't have what was on their menu so in lieu of asked for more ham in place of Cappicola. Didn't get that either. The only thing that I got was ripped off. Won't go back there. Lesson learned. One star is too much. read more

Spot is one of the best sandwiches in town. New owners are excellent - they go out of their way to make sure you get the sandwich you want and crave for! They are very accommodating and have a ton of options! Very clean and Covid-19 safe practices. I order sandwiches on the weekly here as its closes to my home and it tastes perfect each time. Prices are very reasonable too which is always a plus. I wouldn't hesitate reading some of the other reviews - i really don't know what they are talking about. I know the owner personally and if there is ever an issue he will be more than glad to re-make the sandwich properly for you but i haven't had that issue. They are also open to new ideas - who knows maybe they will put up my signature sandwich that i order so much on their menu! read more

Ordered a Killer sandwich thru UberEats- received dry bread with cold provolone attached to the bottom of the bread, with massive amounts of French fries and about 3 tablespoons of beef. Had to add ketchup to it to get it MOIST. Driest sandwich I've had in a lonnnnng time. read more

Forced to give this one star, as there was no zero star option. I've gone to B&C many times over the years. As other reviewers here have stated....the people who bought this business in recent years have ruined it! Went there today for a Roast beef and Swiss sandwich with mayo, on a round roll. They charged me $9.88 and there were only a few pieces of meat and ONE slice of Swiss. (I wish I took a picture!) So basically a bread sandwich with mayo. Asked for a pickle...they don't have deli pickles....at a Deli! I'm not one to complain about prices, especially in light of recent inflation, but $10 for a bread sandwich? This place used to be awesome up until now. Bought by new owners and they are rude, unpleasant, aggravating. They act like they're doing you a favor by making you food. The food itself has gone down in quality it honestly taste bad. You're not getting what you paid for, and it's not fresh. Other day I called to make an order and the guy forgot to hang up the phone and I overheard him cursing at me for wanting my sandwiches wrapped in half's. This place has been a cornerstone of the industrial section of South Plainfield for a long time. Come in the morning get a cup of coffee and sit and people watch. You'll have cops, firefighters, townies, contractors all talking and yelling. It's blue collar at it's best. read more

The new owners have ruined this deli. The food is still pretty good but they have gotten my order wrong 4 of the last 8 sandwiches. They left the sausage off my sausage and egg sandwich. They gave me a chicken parm when I ordered a chicken cutlet with lettuce and tomato. They gave me turkey lettuce and mayo when I ordered turkey lettuce tomato oil vinegar. The final straw was last week when I ordered a chicken cutlet sub with lettuce and tomato. I reiterated that the last time I tried to order this I received a chicken parm. The man on the phone apologized and repeated my order. Chicken cutlet with lettuce and tomato. I opened the wrapper to find chicken cutlet with lettuce tomato and melted cheese. Enough is enough. Since the new owners have taken over, this place is awful.We have been patronizing this deli for 20+ years. Last week one of my co workers got a hair in their salad. The last two times I ordered a sandwich, the rolls were stale. I also ordered cheese (which they charged an addttional $0.75 cents) and there was no cheese on the sandwich. Complaints fall on deaf ears. They had big shoes to fill from the previous owners. But this is ridiculous. Cutting corners and ripping off customers for the extra buck never works.
