I had James install a garage door opener for me in 2023 and he did a good job. Since then I had him do maintenance work a couple of times and it was done well. However, I recently had a new garage door installed by him and since I trusted him I did not ask for anything in writing. I had specified a Hormann Therma Tech 3400 door. After the door was installed and I paid him, I asked James to give me the documentation for my records. He said he would send me the docs but necver did. I reminded him a couple of times without success. I then called him and he hung up on me and then refused to answer my call. That made me suspicious. So I took a picture of the label on the side of one of the panels and sent it to Hormann. They told me that it was not a Hormann label. Which means that James did not install the garage door I had asked for. And I do not know the quality and the manufacturer of the door he installed. So BEWARE! read more

I've used B&D Door twice now to fix my garage door issues and have had fantastic service each time! Today my garage door pooped out suddenly and thankfully, I had a B&D Door card stapled to my garage wall! I was surprised James was able to come out the same day to fix it. One of my garage door hinges broke and I called B & D Door for service. James answered the call and he showed up at my home on the same day. He inspected my garage door and made some recommendations to change some other hinges that were cracked and about to fail, plus recommended replacing the rollers and the lower plastic cover at the bottom of the door which was in taters. We haven't made any major maintenance to our garage door (other than replacing the springs) in 20 years! James provided full maintenance, repair and tune up of my garage door and I am extremely satisfied by the quality & value of his service. B & D Door did a great job of fixing the broken springs on the garage door. They came out on short notice and replaced the springs even with 2 cars in the garage. It was a hot day and super cramped in there with the cars still in the garage. He also lubricated the wheels and rails. When the springs are broken, you can't budge the door so couldn't get the cars out. So very glad they could fix it quickly with the cars still there. After sending quotes through Yelp for my broken garage door, B & D responded fast and had a competitive price so I messaged them to come to take a look. They promptly arrived at our scheduled time and assessed the issue with my garage door. He said he was in the business for 15 years and it shows He took the time to walk me through what the issue was and proceeded to fix a couple of things (tension rod, spool cables, and spool adjustment). After his fixes, everything was working again after 40 mins. He also took the time to tell me about general garage door maintenance tips and things to watch out for so I don't run into the same problems in the future which I really appreciate. It wasn't clear from their social media presence, so I called for some repairs to my elderly mom who lives in San Jose (Ben installed the spring/cables 8 years prior). Two guys showed up, a day after their initial promise date, neither named Cody, and wanted $650 to replace the cables; made some comments about how the door really should be replaced ("it has some dents"). Have been using B&D door service for more than 14 years. The old owner Ben is a guy that knows almost everything about the garage doors. I thought it would be difficult to find another guy likes Ben. However, after a few services from Cody, the new owner, in my personal opinion, Cody is as good as Ben if not better.
