The manager upsold me a wiper replacement for my 2011 Mercedes. While traveling on the interstate this past Wednesday in a rainstorm on the way to Miami, the passenger side wiper blade flew off. I continued through the rainstorm with no driver side wiper. The next day I had it replaced by a Mercedes repair shop in Miami. The shop charged me $50.00. The shop told me that the wiper assembly that the Nokomis store sold me was not an appropriate replacement assembly for that car. I went into the Nokomis store today thinking that under the circumstances a $50.00 credit would be offered to me for what I spent on the new wiper blades. The manager refused this, only offering a $20.00 credit. I would put this in the category of poor customer service and faulty business logic as my wife and I will not be returning to that shop for future tire replacement.

She took it back in, to be looked at again. They then wanted to replace Compressor (only) and more Freon. She did the repair, day before the holiday. That worked for a day, then stopped working again. It took several days to get back into the shop. When she did I was there this time. I questioned what they had done previously and tested. Trying to ensure they weren't just replacing parts to replace parts. They reassured us they fully tested anything. They scheduled an appointment to retest the system. So we dropped the vehicle off at 8am, we called several times during the day without a response. Finally got a call at the end of the day close to 4pm, and said now they tested it and the system seemed like there was a blockage. So they wanted to replace the Condenser and Expansion Value, for another ~$1000. I questioned the quote, and they had a hard time explaining the charges. Just that there was $650 in Labor and $350 in parts. I did some researched prices online, for Parts and Labor. I found the parts ~$75 to $150 and the average cost in her County was ~$700. When I asked why the markup was high (133%) if the place that they were getting parts from was the dealer or the part broker didn't have warranty on parts. He said and I will not forget it... "let me be honest, the owner sets the pricing. And we are located on the Island here and there is money on this Island." We won't be going back, and recommend others stay away.
