Nothing on the internet seemed representative of what I wanted to wear. It was even harder to shop in person as I didn't know which stores would be homophobic or which stores would welcome me. Finding B Anu Designs was like finding a beacon of light. Anu's team was welcoming and made me feel safe. She was able to capture the essence of my vision and transform it into something beautiful. I was planning to wait until professional pictures came back, but can't help myself... Anu is so great to work with and her designer taste and expertise is amazing! My husband and I came in to see Anu's selection at the shop in early March. She was so sweet to let us just walk in after hours on a Friday night at like 8pm, that meant a lot to us. We were having a rush wedding in under 2 months, so we assumed we would only have time to buy outfits off the rack and not get anything custom made - but Anu made it happen! She worked so hard and got our outfits to us by mid-April! I walked in with barely any vision of how I wanted my lengha, I just knew I wanted it simple and light pink and in my tight budget, and Anu really took it from there. She took this simple lengha design that I liked and turned it into a full on bridal lengha! At first I was just going along with whatever she liked, but it really was a "trust the process" experience. She made my entire bridal piece look incredible. Absolutely the best bridal designer any girl could ask for. Anu was invested into every single detail of my special day and made sure I had everything I wanted for my reception lengha. I was not unsure about anything during the whole process from where my lengha was in the completion process, when the lengha arrived due to me losing weight the top was a bit loose and she personally took me to the tailor to make sure my fitting was perfect and had the blouse ready next day!!! I also had a huge issue with my jaggo dress with another company, I was devastated when I saw my lengga made by this other company - Anu came through last minute and saved the day by making me a completely new outfit in a 2 week time frame. I customized this rose pink lehenga from BAnuDesigns for my brother's wedding reception. Not only did I get endless compliments the whole night but I felt my best because every detail was tweaked to match my vision exactly. I started by visiting the showroom in Fremont and browsing the samples of the bridal and party wear. I saw the original design and fell in love with the embroidery on it. The sample came in a beautiful ice blue but I always knew that I wanted to wear pink, so Anu and her team worked with me to select the color shade exactly to what I wanted and also allowed me to customize the neck and blouse design further to match the more conservative style look that I wanted. We were able to chat further through text messaging to quickly finalize the details. After ordering, I first received a physical sample of the embroidery, the color of all the different beads, sequins, under linings for me to confirm. After confirming, I was able to get the full outfit on time -- which fit like an absolute glove by the way! -- although Anu offered alteration services, no further alterations were even required. Overall, the designs are unique and have that high quality "wow"-factor, but it's really the team's creativity and flexibility that allowed me to transform the outfit into my perfect dream outfit. UPDATE: So Anu reached out & helped me find an alteration shop & got my sleeves altered for me (she paid for it) They were still fairly snug (which was honestly the shop's fault, they didn't open up the sleeves all the way and still left cloth inside) so my mom ended up having to do it herself in the end bc I didn't have the time to keep going back, my engagement party is in 2 weeks. So that was frustrating. We will also have to fix the doriyan (tassels) on the drawstrings on the back bc they were falling apart. Which is quite sad on such a beautiful piece. Anu also provided instructions on how to do that tho. I will say, Anu tried her very best to fix what had happened and to help better the experience in any way possible and she's been very attentive since the issues were brought to her attention. She's been kind & has apologized numerous times for everything. So I appreciate her doing anything at all or even helping and being attentive bc most Indian designers do not. So I will give her 10/10 for professionalism and kindness forsure. I'm not sure what went wrong & why I had such an experience but I did and I sincerely hope that no one else ever does. I am very positive this was a learning experience for both of us. I have attached photos of what the tassels look like rn, prior to us fixing them & will come back to attach photos of the gown (I don't want anyone to see it until the day of event). Again, the gown itself is BEAUTIFUL. And thank God that it is. I just got engaged and we're planning on having our engagement ceremony in a month. We usually exchange gifts during our ceremony so my fiance's family wanted to make sure I got an outfit that I really liked! To the paid reviewer of Anu attempting to discredit me. I can't speak to her outfits, but the jewelry she sold me was completely rusted, it was not silver as Anu claimed and that's something which has been recorded in her store video cameras which she illegally used to record me and my family with both audio and video without my knowledge - I have cause of action against her for her illegally recording me, bullying and harassment and I seriously doubt that some random stranger would even have a reason to doubt my honest review of what happened to me as I try to warn others. Clearly this review is posted by Anu herself or some personal friend. Also, I gave Anu 2 choices: she can take her rusted jewelry back & refund me or I can go to small claims court. It is not about 'affordability', it is about being scammed. No customer would take the trouble to go to small claims court because of affordability. I was scammed - please know the difference. Her jewelry was defective, rusted and was not 'silver' as she claimed, pure and simple. Anu was the one who chose the option of taking the jewelry back & refunding instead of small claims. If anything, I did her a favor instead of there being a public record of my small claims case against her business.  After choosing the option of refunding me, she happily took her jewelry back but then instead of returning my money she threw a mafia-like lawyer & threatened me. By the way, Anu has till date not returned my check. That should tell people everything there is about this business owner. Any sane person unless they are paid won't diss me. Any paid reviewer or customer disparaging me in their reviews - please note, this is a legal matter now and you will all have to answer in the court of law upon being summoned. Stay away from B Anu designs, she is literally the worst. Acts so sweet when you first meet her and she says she will communicate with you throughout the whole process, but we tried to work with her for our wedding and it was such a mistake. After giving her 75% of the deposit, she ghosted us for months. We literally had no idea what was going on with our outfits. We would keep calling and texting her and she would never answer. She finally replied 2 weeks before the wedding, without an apology, and stated the outfits were going to be here 1 week before our wedding. There was no time for any alterations. We were super annoyed that the outfits we decided on 13 months before arrived so late. My husband's sherwani was so loose on top and too short in length, and the bridal wedding day outfit had some areas that were still left unstitched. Between not knowing if we were going to get everything we paid for or not due to the ghosting and what actually came - it was overly stressful and a huge disappointment. Dealing with Banu was too much unnecessary added stress during what is supposed to be the happiest moment of our lives. Overall, out of all of our wedding vendors, she was the worst experience ever. She advertises that she can customize any outfit, but that was also a lie, we got only about 15% of the customizations we asked for. She does what she wants, however haphazardly she can. Never work with B Anu Designs! The staff was very sweet initially but after confirming the designs she was very difficult to communicate with. She never made herself available to speak with her clients and shipped out unfinished clothing pieces a week before the wedding even though we booked with her 7 months prior to the wedding. My family and I had to scramble three days before our wedding to alter our clothing. There were missing sequins, zippers that wouldn't zip, and no hooks. On top of everything, she charged us extra for "rush shipping". I will never recommend her to any of my family or friends. read more
