I ordered the Mac with crispy pork belly, Brussels sprouts and hot honey, and it was amazing! It was such a fun twist on a classic dish, and all the flavors complement each other. The cavatappi noodles were so fun and added more texture to the dish. My boyfriend got the pork belly sliders with tater tots, which were amazing as well. The tater tots were super crispy (which we love). We came on a Saturday afternoon and sat out in the patio, where the fans and misters were cooling everyone down. Highly recommend sitting outside and enjoying all the cute decorations. As always, the servers were attentive and regularly checked in. read more

My friends and I came here before noon and it was pretty empty, since the Clovis Fest was right next door. They got us seated and accommodated us very quickly, we loved our waitress (I forgot her name but she had blonde hair lol). We ordered our food and we decided to try out the drink place inside: Seconds. Literally every drink we wanted was "Out of Stock." The brown sugar latte, brown sugar matcha latte, matcha oreo. Even their soft serve was out of stock, which is kind of what they promote lol. We ordered the tiramisu latte and black sesame latte - they both tasted the exact same. Very disappointing. Now for food, we got the poke nachos, pork belly fries and firecracker chicken sandwich. They were all decent, not worth the price points for either of them. The workers were amazing and kind, but this place was such a huge let down. I've seen this place come across on my social media and I'm glad it did! I went for a quick lunch and I was met with a very nice server and great food! I tried the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which I also recommend. The fries were seasoned and fried well but idk they tasted a bit sugary to me which was just a different taste. I believe the rest of the reviews mention this being a copy and paste of craft house but if I remember correctly the server did mention it was part of their added locations. I sat near the front of the restaurant for convenience but make sure to walk to the back plenty of seating inside as well as outside near the bar! First visit in Old Town Clovis at the new restaurant that opened this past May. Large indoor dining area and patio areas. There is also a beverage/tea area inside serving tea, coffee and sot serve treats. I ordered the Firecracker Chicken Sandwich which was mildly spicy and tender with a soft bun filled with ghost pepper cheese, garlic aioli, cabbage and pickled jalapeños. I think this place has a lot of potential but they're going to need to fine tune the details if they want to succeed. We had a group of 5 adults and 2 kids, so I understand that's a lot of food to have timed correctly, but the timing desperately needs to be improved. Fish and shrimp tacos were luke warm at best. Empanadas were hot on the outside, cold in the inside. As for flavor, I had the fish tacos. They were lacking in flavor but I think that is something that can easily be fixed. I think the biggest downside is the price for the portion. For $16, I don't think the fish tacos are big enough. Or add an extra taco, or a side of chips or slaw! I think this is might keep people from returning. The other downside was they were out of a long of things but I assume this will be figured out with time as they learn how much they need to order. While visiting family in Fresno, we stopped in for dinner on a very hot day during their soft opening period. This spot strays (in the best way) from my assumptions about the Fresno/Clovis area. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty. And the cocktails were refreshing. I want to go back after their grand opening to enjoy the full menu--but definitely recommend the garlic Parmesan wings, garlic fries and corn dog. While the cocktails tasted great (especially while standing under misters in 107 degree heat), I hope that the cocktail menu will be extended a bit for different types of alcohol. All in all, this feels like a convenient, delicious and must-visit place in the area. I went to this place on a Sunday afternoon with two friends. They weren't very many people here, and everyone was incredibly kind. I really like the atmosphere, and can definitely see this place as being a cool place to hang out with some friends. I just hope they really improve the food I ordered two items, the Korean hot wings, and at the recommendation of the woman who took my order, the fish tacos. The Korean wings were pretty good. They were slightly sweet, and had a nice little kick to them. Unfortunately, they were just overpriced. $17 for a few wings that I could basically get at another restaurant for substantially cheaper. Well the flavor was wonderful, they just weren't worth $17. The fish tacos are probably the most disappointing thing that I've eaten in a while. The best part about them, was the tortilla. It tasted fresh and was a wonderful blue corn. Unfortunately, it just disintegrated after one bite. The rest of the dish lacked flavor. The fish was bland, the coleslaw was just OK, the cheese was just cheese, and the salsa lacked any real depth of flavor. I've had better fish tacos at a fast food place; and that pains me to say that. This review really makes me sad. I really wanted to try this place, and I was really excited to try things from the menu. What made matters worse was after selecting four items to order for my table, I was told all four items were sold out. The woman who helped me laugh a bit, and said that they really need to update the menu. All in all, I really really liked the atmosphere, but I was just underwhelmed by the food. I have only been here twice and I've gotten takeout both times but I plan to dine in around dinnertime soon. Every time I stop by, it's lunchtime and I have to get back to work, but their cocktails sound so tempting! So I will update my review at some point. Service is spot on, and I know this place is new. The ambience is so nice, modern and inviting. I love the aesthetic of it all. But that's not what anyone is here for, right? It's all about the food! So I mention in most of my reviews that I'm a vegetarian and all my reviews are from that perspective. I've gotten the veggie tacos which can be made vegan as well. I am a hardcore cheese lover so I get them with the cheese, which I think really adds to them. I'm a foodie but I'm also cheap, and I also live in the middle of nowhere, so going out to eat is a treat. For these reasons, I love to try to recreate my favorite restaurant dishes. I have not been able to replicate these tacos yet. They are so delicious and so so flavorful! I'm not sure what the secret is but that's OK-I will just continue to eat them and enjoy them. We had some seltzers from Crow & Wolf, and ordered the lomo saltado and bolognese pasta. Food seemed to come out pretty quick. So excited to see a food hall coming to Clovis! Did you know the head chef here used to work at Elderberry House in Oakhurst?! Third Place offers a kitchen with four different concepts/menus to choose from, a boba spot in the middle, and Crow and Wolf has an outdoor bar and patio area, which is gorgeous by the way! The outdoor patio is shaded and will soon have misters for those toasty summer days. I sampled a little bit of everything during my trip here. The fish tacos, tempura waygu corndog, chimichurri steak grilled cheese, Ranchero steak fries, and a chicken empanada. My two favorites were the chimichurri steak grilled cheese and the fish tacos. First off, the pieces of fish on these tacos were huge and the breading tasty and light. That paired with the fresh veggies and salsa on top added for both amazing textures, plus acid to enhance the fish flavor. This chimichurri grilled cheese sandwich was insane! Big flavor bombs and it paired perfectly with my beer. If they ever start doing late night dining, this would be my go to. Shout out to that Tempura Waygu Corn Dog. A hearty Waygu beef dog topped with hoisin sauce and spicy mayo. I think they did an amazing job during their soft opening. As everyone knows opening up a restaurant is no easy task, especially a restaurant concept that's really never truly existed in the Central Valley. New place in old town Clovis. Newly redone building. You order food at the first station when you come in. They give you a number and you pick your seat. They have another station for drinks/coffee/tea/ soft service ice cream and another station serving Crowe and Wolf beers. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl. It consisted of mostly fried rice with some slices of chicken thigh meat on top with cold cucumber and carrots and then a couple sauces. It was ok. I didn't care much for the raw carrot and cucumber on top. I would rather have some sauteed veges. My husband ordered the burger minus the egg on top ( he is not a foodie lol). He said the burger was good. The fries that came with the burger were also good. We enjoyed being able to have a Crowe and Wolf beer along with our meals. Service was pleasant. We went at 4:30 on a Wednesday so no problem with waiting. All in all I think I might have to go try something else to form a final opinion, but so far the price to satisfaction ratio is a little lacking. read more

So worth the wait to open! I came in on a Friday of their soft opening week at 3 and it was perfect timing. No line and the place was about half full. I ordered the pork Belly bao bun and it did not disappoint. I was starving and that was the perfect amount of food. It came in at 10 min for the wait. The staff were friendly and it was easy to navigate the place as I wasn't sure if there was more than just the front order area where you can choose from four different menus. First things first, ordered Ranchera Steak Fries.. it had me at skirt steak, fries and gauc. You are given a number once you order, and when your meal is prepared... a server will find where you're sitting and will bring your food. Its pretty straight forward. Once I ordered, it gave me an opportunity to walk around.. to my surprise the seating isn't just in the front and outside near street parking.. you walk towards the back and there's even more seating and out door seating! There's also a cafe called Seconds where you can order boba, tea, coffee and soft serve! I don't say no to a refreshment... especially on a warm day. And I have to say this place had excellent customer service. The girl at the cashier was so helpful, explained the different flavors... I ended up getting a Pear-dise Tea (not on the menu). It was so tasty and flavorful, with strawberry pieces. With my drink in hand, I was waiting for my food... service was a bit slow. I would say my Ranchera Steak Fries was pretty good! A lovely worker described that the name of the restaurant is named after the term "third place" coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg in 1989, which refers to a space outside home (first place) and work (second place) where you can relax and socialize. And this place definitely lives up to its name as a great place to hangout, connect, and catch up! This place is a food hall with three separate vendors: a food counter; a cafe counter with boba, coffee, tea, and vegan soft serve; and a brewery counter tied to Crow & Wolf! This place has plenty of seating and has a BEAUTIFUL patio in front of the brewery area. The ordering experience is super simple, you order at the counter at the respective vendors! For the eatery, they give you a number, you find a seat, and they give you your food! For the cafe, they call out your name and you pick up your drinks at the counter. SIDE NOTE: You buss your own tables! There's a basket near the trash cans where you can put your used plates / utensils. Make sure to clean up after yourself! **We've been loyal customers of Craft House for a long time, and I've never had to write a negative review--until now.** I came in with my kids on a hot 90-degree day. The owner seated us at a corner table and then completely forgot about us. For 20 minutes, we sat without a greeting, service, or even water. Meanwhile, a white couple who came in *after* us was immediately attended to by the owner--offered wine and beer samples, and had their order taken right away. I didn't say anything at first, but after watching them receive service while we were ignored, I politely asked the other owner (his wife) if we could order. I even said I understood they were busy and was willing to be patient, but it was upsetting to see customers arriving after us get priority service. She took our order, and I asked for water for my thirsty kids. Then another duo arrived, was seated just a few tables away, and immediately got water, silverware, and multiple greetings from both owners. By that point, we had been there 30 minutes without so much as a glass of water or silverware. It was frustrating, disheartening, and frankly felt discriminatory. I was sooo excited to visit here I live food falls in bigger cities and was happy to see Clovis/Fresno finally get one. We walked in and they were out if several food items understandably as it was still a soft opening we picked the chimichurri steak grilled cheese, a salad and a teriyaki bowl. The inside had plenty of seating and after ordering food we wandered to Seconds which sells soft serve ice cream and different drinks I tried their Horchata seasonal version it was good but a bit too sweet for me I'd like drinks that are water based and lightly sweetened so that may just be my preference. The food portions were very small for price and good but not great the salad was very disappointing. Where this place shines is the ambiance they gave a great outdoor area that's perfect for enjoying a drink and food I hope that the food choices improve because we liked that they have a local brewery on site too. I've been here before, during their soft opening. I came back the 2nd time and had lunch with a good friend/coworker. My first experience was just meh the food was okay but when I found out the kitchen staff from The Craft House across the street was taking over I was so excited and had no doubt the food quality would be better I've tried them before during a Yelp Elite Event, food was phenomenal)! Arrived just a few minutes afternoon they changed the food ordering style which was a bit awkward initially. Now someone greeted us at the front and gave us menus and told us to take a seat anywhere and that someone would come take our orders. We sat down and our drink order was taken after looking over the menu I wanted to try everything so it was definitely a hard decision but ended up ordering the craft house cheesesteak with sweet potatoes fries (extra charge). Food came out hot and fast! Wow best cheesesteak sandwich I had ever had the ciabatta bun had so much flavor and it was so soft! The meat was delicious everything just melted in delicious goodness with each bite!! Highly recommend this dish. I also got my friend and I drinks from the Seconds Cafe I got the pink lady drink I got before it tasted good but not as sparkling/shimmery as before l. My friend got a tiramisu latte and she enjoyed it. I was talking to the lovely lady who took my order because I initially wanted a slushy however she said the machine wasn't working and I said maybe next time I return. This place was overly hyped and the ads were rampant on my social media feed. I was really excited to try this place however was disappointed when I actually went. All the menus from Yelp were different than the menu they served me when I came. Another customer next to me had asked the server about the change in menu and the server replied they revamped the menu. By "revamping" they meant taking a lot of food items off the menu. I was already feeling a little disappointed from the change in menus as I was looking forward to ordering food items that were no longer on the menu. I ended up ordering their pork belly fries, Thai shrimp tacos, chicken and waffles, and blue cheese burger. My party also ordered an IPA and two mixed drinks: cloud 9 and summer mule. The drinks and apps came pretty quickly but our main dishes took a significantly long amount of time. There weren't that many people in the restaurant. The porky belly fries were pretty good, the only thing I didn't like was the blue cheese sauce, it was a bit too much for my liking. The fries were super crispy and fresh and the pork belly was delicious. The mixed drinks were also pretty good although cloud 9 was super sweet and the summer mule just tasted like strawberry lemonade. When our food finally arrived, I was a diss appointed. The shrimp tacos were over cooked and the shrimp had a weird batter to it (very thick and hard). The flavor was basic, tasted like siracha mayo. The chicken and waffles took me by the surprise. It was drenched in a sweet and spicy sauce. The sweetness hit me first and then there was a very spicy after taste. I didn't like that flavor profile. Last was the blue cheese burger. It had way too much blue cheese to the point that it was hard to keep eating the burger. The blue cheese was so overpowering, I couldn't taste anything else. After our food, we decided to get some dessert. My friend ordered the strawberry fields dessert which she said she liked. I ordered a strawberry cheese shake and it was disgusting. I couldn't even finish it. I don't know if they messed up the drink (the guy who took my order was new and he made my drink). It basically tasted like milk with some bitter strawberry pieces thrown in. It was not a milkshake at all. Overall, I was very disappointed in the food quality. Everything was so expensive and in my opinion, not worth the cost. The layout is also confusing. You order the food when you walk in, but there's not really a counter to order. Ordered the Ranchero Steak Fries. They came out quick... and cold. Sent them back. Fries came out again and was told they were new. One bite of the fries, still cold. Tried the steak. Cold. They said they didn't understand as only the pico and the drizzle should be cold. Asked if I wanted something else. Settling for Korean Wings. A few minutes later, two ladies came to our table with cash in hand to say the wings were still coming, but was refunding the entire order. And BTW, they were out of Bao Buns (original order). We then ordered the Crispy Duck Tacos. I appreciate them recognizing that there was an issue and made things right. The wings were super hot and delicious. The duck tacos were flavorful. The food was good. Liked the lomo saltado. The meat was tasty, not salty, no French fries instead roasted baby potatoes. The strawberry salad fresh and local produce. The whole place has a very young, hip vibe and variety of world foods concept. We did not try a beer or dessert, but will on our next visit. Stopped by for their soft opening on 5/8/24 at around 1:30pm. Very spacious with an industrial/modern design. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. A smaller patio faces Pollasky and a larger outdoor area with a bar in the back. We didn't explore the larger outdoor area, but people seemed to be enjoying their beer. For the food, there are four different menus to choose from and you can mix and match. My sister and I wanted to order everything, but narrowed it down to four dishes. We originally wanted the drunken shrimp taco, however they were out of tortillas. It's still the soft opening, so no harm, no foul there. They text you when your food is ready, our expected wait time was 25 minutes. Actual wait time was 15. There's self-serve water or you can order from a different counter (called Seconds) that has coffee, tea, and soft-serve. Ahi sushi tots 3/5 - the tots were made out of fried sushi rice, which had a chewy texture, not my fave. Ahi and avocado were nice and fresh. Empanada Peruana 3/5 - crispy outside, ground beef inside. I liked it, but my sister's half was dripping with oil. Could use a little more flavor. Umami fries 4/5 - first time trying fried yucca. Similar to steak fries, but more starchy. Can't go wrong with spicy mayo and unagi sauce. We ordered the Pork belly chicharron sandwich (and it says it on our receipt), however they served us the pork belly chicharron with fresh guac. Didn't realize we got the wrong order till we were walking out, but it was still delicious. 5/5 the pork belly was crisp and flavorful! Reminded me of a Filipino dish called lechon kawali. Strawberry lime tea and mango dragonfruit tea - 4/5 both were refreshing and not too sweet. You can actually taste the tea. -1 because I couldn't distinguish mango or dragonfruit. For the food, we paid about $58 (before tip) which is a little pricey imo. However, I'll still be back to try other dishes and am excited to see what else Third Place has to offer! Happy to see that Clovis has a new, aesthetic spot to hang. read more

Ordered the Chimichurri Steak Grilled Cheese and the Umami Fries for $18 and $13, respectively. Also tried out a tasty Coconut Hibiscus Horchata at the Seconds Boba & Bites. The Chimichurri Steak Grilled Cheese is described as: "Grilled skirt steak in chimichurri sauce served on a toasted french roll with smoked gouda and grilled onion" It's definitely got the skirt steak in spades. The chimichurri sauce was surprisingly sweet. I was expecting more of an herbal taste. It's also packing a ton of garlic kick. Loving the smoked gouda as that's my jam. Unfortunately, no matter how much I looked, I couldn't find and grilled onion in my sandwich. Sadness. And the bread that's supposed to be a "french roll" appears to be cut thick from a loaf rather than a roll. As for the Umami Fries: "Fried yucca slices, apicy mayo aioli, unagi sauces, parmesan cheese, and scallions" The yucca tends to fry up a bit drier, tougher, and stringier than the potato fries you're probably used to. That's probably why they had to serve them thick cut or it would just taste like shoe leather. No complaints about the toppings, tho. They're top-notch! And the Coconut Hibiscus Horchata: Looks really pretty with all those beautiful colors and flavors layered on top of each other. Made me hesitant to ruin it by mixing it up My only advice/suggestion might be to mix it longer with the ice because the drink itself comes to you room temp. P.S. Everything in the paper boats are served with a slice of banana leaf at the bottom. Nice touch! I'll definitely be coming back to try the rest of their voluminous menu. The service was so good! The place was empty when we got there but got full shortly after. The drinks are good and the setup is very pretty. The food was delicious, I tried one the sandwiches and it didn't disappoint. I will be back again to try another menu item. Excited to go back! read more

DON'T EAT HERE! Let me start by saying that our server and the owner were both incredibly polite and attentive, providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. This restaurant feels like it's trying to charge Bay Area prices for convenience store quality food. It's hard to understand where things went wrong. It seems like all the budget went into creating a nice atmosphere rather than focusing on what truly matters--the food. And let's be clear: when it comes down to it, a restaurant's primary role is to serve good food. If you're charging $17 for your "special" crab salad, it should at least include dressing, and the crab cakes should taste fresh--not like something you'd hesitate to feed your pet. When your servers haven't even tasted what's on the menu, there's a real disconnect. Demanding $20 for a wilted, days-old salad and a sandwich that's no better than a 7/11 grab-and-go item is unacceptable. It was so bad that even the mac and cheese--a basic comfort food--was messed up twice. Undercooked, unseasoned, and difficult to chew, it was so bad that even my son spat it out. When we brought this up, our server graciously brought a replacement, but there was no real improvement, except that it seemed someone added a pinch of salt. I could've done that myself (and did the first time by asking for salt). I can see that the owner is passionate and has clearly invested a lot into this place, but in the restaurant industry, if the food is subpar, no amount of investment can make up for it. At the core, a restaurant's main selling point is its food. If that fails, the business is bound to fail too. To the owner: I don't want to see this place fail because I see so much potential here. There are countless opportunities to turn things around, but it starts with building a team that's truly passionate about cooking--not just hiring kids who are more focused on chatting than engaging with customers feedback. A restaurant like this should be bustling on a Saturday, yet for most people who visit, it's likely their first and last time. This spot is a Gem! Truly haven't had a wholesome style of food that blew my mind in YEARS. Chef Rob and his team know exactly what they're doing, and they doing it above and beyond! My wife and I stopped by to see all the new buzz about this amazing restaurant and we were pleasantly pleased all the way from start to finish. The service, atmosphere, and food were incredible!
