Great food, great service & great prices. It's an old building in downtown Fresno, old school cafe vibes. Max occupancy sign shows 36 customers with approximately 7 barstool seats and approximately 7 tables. We had steak & eggs, pork & eggs and French toast which was all delicious. Also ordered combination chow mein & beef chow mein which had good flavor.

Went in today after seeing it from another hole in the wall I visit. It was so good. We got chow mein and pork chops. Seasoned great and truly just yummy. Staff were friendly. The only thing I hate is this is a cash only business. I had to go to the shady ATM on the corner.

We came here on a winter weekend morning and the place was packed when we got in. It's not surprising given the very discounted prices that you don't normally see, unless you were back in the early 2000s/2010s. But for the price that you pay, you can get a lot of food here. We ordered veggie fried rice, French toast plate, and an egg plate for about $30 (including tip). Our friend got the hot link plate and thought it was fine. The food is pretty good, though the veggie fried rice was a little bit bland. But everything else was good diner quality. The French toast is a little bit on the eggier side but it's still solid. Everything is very very cheap compared to todays regular diners. Because of the reasonable prices, this place has a consistent stream of people especially on the weekends. Highly recommend this place for to-go or dine-in.

Excited to have made it before close! I got here at 1:40 and they were still so welcoming. It's usually super busy but if you get here a bit after one you catch a good spot with great affordable dishes. I got the hot link plate with eggs and rice and gravy. Got a side of hash browns. Unc got chorizo and eggs plate mom's got chow mein plate three drinks two orders of the best egg rolls ever. All for 55 bucks. Yes. No cap. Real talk. It's the best little diner spot been that way for decades. My grandparents used to bring my mom her bros n sisters when they were little. Be there do that its worth the drive to Chinatown. The landscape ain't the prettiest but that ain't what fills your plate. Good people. Good food. Best prices. Bet.

If you want to experience a place where folks gather to share good food and everybody knows everybody else, this is the place. A friend and I were in Fresno attending an event and Ho Ho came up as one of the dining options. It's a 20-minute walk from the downtown area, but I'd recommend driving if you can. It's in a part of town that is in need of TLC but as soon as we walked in we knew we were in a place that was a local favorite. We were greeted warmly and our food was served quickly. It's not fancy but as soon as my food came, I felt transported to afternoons spent at a friend's house after school where her Chinese grandma always fed us with something she threw together out of whatever was in the fridge...and it was always delicious. My veg chow mein was amazing! The dining room is tiny and crowded, and the decor reflects the prior businesses that occupied the area before the restaurant was added on. I'm so glad I came here and patronized a local business and would absolutely come again if my travels bring me back through Fresno.

1/11/25 Getting breakfast for tomorrow . The worker was nice. Vegetable omelet ordered with ham added with hash-browns and pancakes ordered too, The worker recommended the pancakes. I went to pick it up shortly later.. Arrived to pick up. The worker was kind. They weee packed! Must be good! Bar seating, tables and booths. All filled! They only take cash FYI! Paid for it and received with good day wishes! Appreciated! 1/12/24 Happy Sunday everyone! Breakfast split! Half of the omelet wasn't really an omelet by the way it looked. More like a scramble. Still fresh & tasty.Hash browns were good. Probably better to have the same day. Pancake was Great! I can see why they are recommended! Plump and delicious! I'm sure mother will feel the same when she gets up to have her half! Good service & Really Good breakfast! Recommended!

I had heard a lot about this restaurant in downtown fresno. I finally had a day off work to try it for myselfI had heard a lot about this restaurant in downtown fresno. I finally had a day off work to try it for myself. The area is currently under construction on the road but that didn't stop the place from being packed. I knew I had hit a jackpot when I saw some of the construction workers eating and enjoying the food. Not only do they serve breakfast but they also have an extensive lunch menu. The ambience is small, homemade and familiar. The restaurant is quite small but the food and flavor profile packs a punch. I ordered a cup of coffee and was pleasantly surprised at how strong it was. I decided to go with the beef steak and eggs and added onions and peppers along with a side order of pancakes. The food came out fairly quickly and everything was delicious! The pancakes taste to homemade and everything is done on an open air Grill behind the counter. I definitely will come back.

    Combination omelet

I always get the same thing and it hits every single time! My go to order is the combination omelet, a side of white rice, French toast (not pictured) and a Thai tea. Can never go wrong. Hole in the wall place. Very very good. Friendly people.

There's coffee in a big pot on the stove, but I opted for tea.

Some may glance at the Ho Ho Kafe in Fresno's old Chinatown and think it's just another greasy spoon in a run-down neighborhood and continue driving by. That would have been me except that my good friends invited me there for brunch. It's definitely a throwback to a bygone era and, it turns out, that's a good thing. For example, the staff knows and cares about the patrons. Many are regulars on a first name basis and engage in short, lively conversations. It's a melting pot of people. Secondly, servings are hearty, delicious, and inexpensive. The menu offers the typical American breakfasts-eggs, hash browns, toast and pancakes or Asian fare , such as chow mein with chicken, pork, beef or shrimp or egg rolls. You'll probably get out of there for under $20 a person. Need I remind you that fast food is more AND not as good quality? Plus you can go any day of the week from 7:00-2:00 in casual wear and no makeup. I'm sold on the Ho Ho!

I've been a few times, and I remember going for the first time about 9 years ago. I remember peering off of Herndon and what a cute red building that looks awfully busy and had a gravel parking lot. Back then it felt very hard to eat here, you had to get here early before the lot filled which obviously means the food is good. Today we were met with kind service and were immediately sat in the out door seating. Which we didn't mind because it was fresh. All the staff members were incredibly kind to me, and I really appreciated the nice compliments and overall vibe this establishment offers Breakfast menu is both American and Mexican inspired which is a plus for this bilingual gal, We stared off with a Mermaid Mimosa for the birthday boy and a Bloody Mary for me. Red Apple gets straight to business as I'd say their drinks are worth the price as they are poured well. I'm a Benedict girl, I went ahead and ordered the smoked salmon Benedict which came with some flavor potatoes. The bene was 10/10 I felt I could really taste a high quality salmon and the egg was perfectly poached. Birthday boy ate the Country fried steak at my recommendation. Pared with potatoes and pancakes. It's safe to say the plates were left cleared. Overall I've never been disappointed here and I'm happy to say my guest enjoyed it for their first time as well. There's a reason that parking lot stays busy

Everyone was so nice, Jessica…read moreespecially was super attentive, our coffees were always full, our food came out at a decent time and it was still nice and hot and she was so friendly throughout our time here, so Jessica if you ever see this, Thank you so much, we appreciate you! We happened to be in the area today with a failed trip to Lithia Ford for a car repair. We both were hungry and needed to choose between breakfast or Mexican food, we flipped a coin and the coin chose breakfast. I'm glad it did, cause right when we were heading towards another breakfast spot, we made the quick decision to just choose what was nearby. It's a restaurant name we've heard of, but haven't been, so we opted to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! Because the food was amazing and the service just as much! Parking lot was full but not too crazy, that luckily came after we were seated. Inside was nicely themed to Louisiana Bayou with gators and cute signs with quotes and a big tree in the seating area with sound effects of bugs from the swamp. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with a nice greeting from one of the busy waitresses who let us know we would be seated in a moment. Our server Jessica came up with a smile and a warm welcome and had us follow her to our booth. We both started off with coffee and browsed the menu, this menu had some usual fair but definitely stayed in the theme of the restaurant with Louisiana cuisine, like andouille sausage as a breakfast meat choice. I went with their "Hucks Platter" which is 3 eggs anyway you want, choice of potatoes or hashbrowns and you can choose between a couple varieties of meats, steak, chicken fried steak, sausage, bacon and andouille. It also comes with a choice of side, being toast, homemade biscuit or their huckleberry bread? I played it safe and went with the white toast. I also went with the bacon cause I love me some bacon! It was hickory smoked and my goodness it was cooked to perfection! My whole meal was cooked perfectly! I truly appreciate the cooking staff for doing such an amazing job during a busy morning. Jess chose the Banana Foster French Toast and my goodness! It looked just as good if not better than the picture. It was loaded, thick and comes with a side of eggs and your choice of meat. She loved the French toast, she's never had Bananas Foster before but she said it was decadent, sweet and had a nice caramelized flavor. Would recommend and also get it again! We paid, "with tip" around $57, which isn't bad for most breakfast spots now a days. Especially when you're getting this kind of food quality and service. We never went without a fresh hot cup of coffee and a nice check in from Jess or one of the other servers to pick up a plate or ask us how we're doing. I do apologize for no pictures, when the food came out, it looked so good we just dug right in! We both would absolutely come back and eat here again if we're in the area or back in Fresno looking for a breakfast spot. If you're in and or from here, you should definitely make this your go-to breakfast spot!

No reservation so we waited a good amount of time but it wasn't so long that it was unbearable. Very cute waiting area. I didn't expect it to look as... modern? as it did? I'm not sure what I expected it to look like but it was nice inside. Staff was suuuper friendly. Every single one we spoke to. Considering how busy they were (constant flow of traffic/customers)... I can't remember what my friends ordered. Portions are very good. We could have easily split a plate (my niece and I) and be okay. Classic American breakfast. Everything was good/satisfying. We all enjoyed our meals. I also got their Brown Butter Iced Coffee-- saw one of the guys that worked there drinking one behind the counter and asked what it was, lol. I can't say it was the best coffee drink I've ever had but it was still pretty good. Not strong though. Though I've written a raving review, when it comes down to the food, it's not the best breakfast I've had around Fresno. It would not be a first choice for me personally but I also wouldn't mind coming back if my friends wanted to.
