We're very happy with how the custom turned out-- taking inspiration from the Everything Everywhere All At Once movie's line "in another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you" and incorporating our traditional cultural clothing (hanbok and thawb) on a clothesline :) The studio was clean, bright, and wasn't too busy, which provided a great environment for our session. I was looking up fine line tattoos and I found this shop with artist Cha and her work is stunning! I've actually come here twice. Once for a consultation to fix an old tattoo and again a second time for a new tattoo. I didn't go through the first time I went because we weren't confident we could get it to a place I'd be happy with but that didn't dissuade me from coming back and getting a fresh tattoo! My friend wanted a tattoo on Friday the 13th for good luck and I knew just the place. It was really easy to book and appointment via email and $100 for appointment deposit for the both of us. My friend got a bee and I got unhinged vertically coming down the back of my ear. We met with Cha and she drew out our tattoos and let us make adjustments to the art and sizing while giving us recommendations for what she thought worked best and then we went to town! Cha is extremely professional and straightforward. It was a very painless experience (the most painful part was the tattoo which wasn't bad at all!) and we are very appreciative of Cha and her work. My friend's tattoo was about $250 and mine was $200. It was super quick and easy. We finished in about 1.5 hours for the both of us maybe less. Street parking was easy especially since we came in the morning right when they opened. They also had special Friday the 13th tattoos for $100-150 and they were so fun. I walked into here to get a tattoo for my first solo trip (here in LA) and I asked a few questions and she priced me and I stated that it was a lot for a small tattoo and that I would think about it because I really wanted it. Her client that she just finished got up, and I asked to see the work on her arm because Ive only ever been to one tattoo artist and wanted to see before I dedicated myself to it. I smiled and complimented her on them (she had several small line tattoos done on her arm) and I asked how much she paid for it all. Before she could answer me the lady walked up to me and said "Excuse me if you have a question you can ask me. They are MY clients and they paid over $700". I don't know what the motive of being rude to me was, and talking to me in any kind of way but as I was leaning towards getting it I silently got up and walked out. Where I'm from people are nice, we enjoy conversation and I have been here alone for 4 days. I stated I was just wanting to see the tattoos and asked how much all of them were together being that she said store policy was "$200 a tattoo minimum" She still snapped at me with an attitude and told me I can ask her and not them. Seemed like a guilty act to me, and I could have thought 10 of those tattoos. I got my first tattoo done with Cha last Thursday and I am in love! We communicated through email and she was quick and responsive. I paid a $100 deposit via Zelle (venmo is possible too) and was given an estimate for time and cost. Street parking can be tough, but I found some free parking in a nearby neighboring street. The studio was nice and clean. After checking in and filling out paperwork, we received the design idea. She sketched it and we reviewed again. Cha was receptive and welcoming to feedback, which I appreciated. The pre-tattoo process took about an hour and the actual tattooing took two hours. I was able to take little breaks in between and she checked in with me throughout the process. My partner was also able to accompany me and we were both offered drinks. I paid via credit card for the remaining balance. Overall, I am very happy and would consider returning for another tattoo in the future! read more
