    Purple rice bun
    Maggie L.

I loved the purple rice bun, but didn't care for the chicken sausage sando cuz the sausage is dry. Filling for the Chocolate Egg Tart is good, but not mind-blowing. Most items range from $9-11, except for egg tarts that are $6.75 each (3 for $18). The line on a Friday isn't bad, I waited for only a few minutes to be helped. I'll come back to try some items with rose and get the purple rice bun again, if there is no line.

The service was great, but the food looked a bit better than it tasted. The Garlic Herb Shio Pan had great flavor but could have had slightly better texture. The Raspberry Maritozzo was also pretty good and I liked the flavor of the filling, though it does not travel well (not the fault of the bakery at all!). The Pistachio Egg Tart was the most disappointing. The flavor fell flat and the filling looked like it was almost scrambled. I would still like to try other things on the menu!

Was in downtown Bellevue recently, was taking public transit and cutting across from the transit center headed to the mall. Heard about this place but saw it as we were walking by. So we decided to stop and check it out and get something. Its not a big place, there are a few small tables and a bench to sit at, mainly people go outside and sit in the business courtyard. The selections they offer do look good in the display case. A lot of stuff I never really heard of or seen before. All looked pretty darn good. We decided to share something as we were just stopping by to try something. We got an iced coffee and the pistachio egg tart. Egg tart was good, flaky, not too sweet, pistachio flavor was there and the custard was good too. Prices are on the higher side, quality seemed good & tasty, staff was fine with us. Definitely some items I saw that I would want to try next time.

Another social media hyped place that's overpriced... There was a long line when we walked in. Ordered rose bagel (most popular item) and rose maritozzo for almost 20 dollars. I meant it wasn't bad but i don't see the hype. There was nothing special about it. It just looked pretty! Lol. And i guess the bagel was more chewy side. Apparently they do validate parking, i didn't know this before I parked at another building which was no problem. But I am not sure If i would come back for this.

The egg tarts and shio pan were highlights. The tarts were the perfect mix of flaky crust and custard filling. The sourdough tart had a slight tangy flavor and the shio pan was so soft on the inside with a buttery crispy exterior. Looking forward to trying the pistachio tart. While the prices were a bit high, I think the quality and taste are worth it. The sourdough bread was a little disappointing. There were some air holes, but not very much sour flavor. The line moved pretty quickly. It was a little hard to see everything and decide on the spot when the server first asked, but after the front moved, the choices were more visible. The samples were a nice touch to try some of their interesting items like the brionut. There is very limited seating inside but right outside is a shared outdoor seating area. Would recommend eating outside when the weather is nice.

Be Alive (breads) Food: Excellent pastries and single cakes. Asian level of sweetness. Beautiful presentation. My favorite for moistness, texture and flavor. * purple rice bread. * berry rose bread Eating some of the items are not convenient (sticky exterior, or toppings fall, or inside cream oozes out). Ambiance - lovely. Service- lovely folks, excessive packaging, lines are slow when you have so many customers and packaging takes time. Value- expensive (for quality and location). They do have a reward system that takes the edge off. Parking- garage with validation or street parking. Recommend- worth trying! :)

I really liked this place. I went once when they were still very new and they were sold out of everything. I went again today and they were seemingly fully stocked. I really enjoyed the rose bagel and salt bread, got three of the egg tarts but haven't had them yet. The prices are pretty high but it seems good quality. I noticed a lot of bad reviews about filling being less than before so hopefully they don't continue to do so. I really liked the warm vibe and it smelled nice inside. The guy behind the counter that helped me was also very friendly and gave suggestions. Cashier wasn't as friendly and didn't smile but the service of the first guy made up for it. It is a little confusing if you get a lot that you're supposed to take your tray when they're done. Make sure to get your parking validated also. Will be back!

Review for the egg tart and cheesecake only. Great presentation! Unfortunately the taste fell short with a high price tag. While one egg tart is $6.75, buying three reduces the total to $18 (or $6 each). There's regular, chocolate, rose, and pistachio options but they do sell out. When we asked, it was about another 20 minute wait for the pistachio. There is a parking garage and they do validate parking. Some indoor seats but a ton of outdoor seating with the large outside space connecting them to Don't Yell At Me. Raspberry Basque Cheesecake - it's a basque so no crust and every bite will be uniformly fluffy. The center wasn't more gooey or squishy. There was a lack of cheesiness even compared to other basque cheesecakes. Honestly, the raspberry topping was the best part here. Not too sweet which was good, but also not super flavorful outside of the raspberry. Egg Tart - sourdough base which was honestly pretty tasty, but I wouldn't say extraordinary. Crispier and crunchier exterior but the inside egg tart filling was pretty standard. It's not a sourdough filling after all. Did a blind taste test with my partner at home and it's very obvious this egg tart tasted better, but I would rather have 3 standard egg tarts over 1 sourdough egg tart for the price.

The bread is alive!!! BA Bakehouse is a solid spot for great bread. I've been here multiple times and have tried a number of their products and the quality is consistently good. Their rose maritozzo and rose bagel are popular. Personally, I do not like rose-flavored food so I didn't enjoy them at all. If you like floral favors, give them a try. My favorite here is there garlic herb shio pan. They are usually both crispy and soft. I think the secret lies with the bottom of the bread being baked to a crisp while the the top remains pillowy soft. Yum yum!

I love the sour dough bread here and we also tried the grape and cheese bagel! yummmm! They also provide 2 hour parking which is amazing! Dogs are allowed! Woohoo! Service is good, they answered all my questions and place was busy, kinda overwhelming what to get bec lots of choices! Ambiance was very busy too! Lots of people coming in and out most especially lunch time!

BA Bakehouse is in soft opening with their grand opening targeting April 20, 2026. Staff told me they are currently stocking about 50% of their pastries and drinks which is pretty crazy since there's already a large pastry selection. BA is originally from Yunnan China with locations in Dubai and now this is their 1st US location. Parking in the area is a paid lot or street parking and they're located next to Don't Yell at Me. When walking in, you're greeted by staff who wait to grab the items for you. I got multiple pastries and below are my highlights. Shio pan ($4.50): these salt breads come in garlic herb, salt, and prickly ash (peppery). they're delicious and I highly recommend the garlic herb. Croissant ($5.50): very solid and you can taste the different layers. It's crunchy on the outside and airy on the inside. Definitely better than what's out there. Egg tart: you get a "deal" with 3 egg tarts for $18. all egg tarts were super crispy on the outside and the filling was great. The sourdough egg tart was custardy and less eggy. The pistachio was nice and subtle while the rose had a rose jam on the top. The rose jam tasted a little too much of pickles though. Chicken sausage sando ($9.50): the sausage sits on top of a ground chicken (?) cooked with onions. overall an okay pastry and not too bad. Rose maritozzo ($8.50): the maritozzo is a cream filled pastry and indeed it's super creamy. the filling is very light and airy. the rose flavor was light and also reminiscent of pickles. (mango) Basque cheesecake ($11.00): the cheesecake was not bad and the mangos weren't super sweet. the Basque cheesecake was just okay and I'd skip it in the future. Overall, a nice selection of artisan pastries. I'm not sure why the rose items tasted like pickles but I'd avoid them in the future. It's a little pricey - I got 10 different pastries which ended up being around $80 before tip. I'm curious to see what they're going to have at the full opening but so far it's a nice sweet treat yourself option.

Definitely need to come in early so you could snag the goodies, we came in a little later than expected but they were still some pastries to pick from. We got the cheesecake and that was yummy, we also snag the sourdough egg tart that was ok. There was 7 garlic herb shio pan left and we got 3, they were good but a little pricey not really worth the cost, as far as quality. They offer espresso drinks and whatnot. Sitting inside is not ideal, it's to cramp and limited. There is outside sitting 20ft away from store. Overall ok experience but definitely come early and be prepared to pay $$

Amazing quality. Portuguese egg tart was on point (loved both chocolate and pistachio tarts) and the bagels (of which there are many unique flavors) were out of this world highly recommend to any and all

    Inside, get in line.

The front has a ton of chiffon and crepe cakes in a display case, and there's also a bunch of cookies near the front as well. They also serve regular and specialty drinks, and my friend and I wanted to get some here. Staff here was quick with our orders. My friend got their assam boba milk tea, while I - in the best way yet - went overboard and got both their cream brûlée latte and their strawberry chiffon cake. - The creme brûlée latte was put in a cup where I couldn't see the inside of the drink, but it still tasted great despite it being late at night. Coffee is strong, and the crema has a sweet taste that blends well with the coffee itself without making the drink too bitter. - The strawberry chiffon cake was a lot even for the two of us to split but besides that it was not too sweet, and the sponge cake inside wasn't either. Outside filling tastes heavily of cheese, though. This particular cake has the face of Hello Kitty. From reviews and hearsay, I hear they have baking classes here which is really cool. I'm not much a fan of the parking situation around the area especially late at night but I love the concept and would make a trip back to have their other pastries.

I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I loved the variety of textures, from the chewy mochi to the crunch of the cornflakes at the bottom--it keeps every bite interesting. You can tell they use premium, ceremonial-grade matcha because the color is so vibrant and the taste is incredibly smooth. The cafe has a very modern, clean, and minimalist aesthetic. First impressions: the space is genuinely charming. Everything is thoughtfully presented--very dreamy, almost cloud‑like in aesthetic. You want to love it before you even take a bite. The fruit cakes were pleasant, but this is where personal preference really matters. For me, I always lean toward more fruit, less cream. While the whipped cream feels light at first, after a few bites it starts to feel heavy and a bit greasy on the palate--pretty, but not especially restrained. The black sesame cake was the most interesting--and the most polarizing. The first bite was a true wow: deep, nutty, and indulgent. But as I worked through it, the texture became confusing. There were jelly‑like cubes mixed in that broke up the experience in a way I couldn't quite reconcile. I love black sesame, but this particular execution wasn't entirely my thing. The standout, without question, was the croissant. It's excellent--beautifully laminated, crisp where it should be, tender where it counts. I completely understand why they've earned awards here. I only wished there were a savory vegetarian option to explore the full range of what they can do. As for the coffee: visually, it's spot‑on. Flavor-wise, it misses the mark. Pouring caramel over the top without integrating it into the pulled shots means it sinks straight to the bottom. The result is an unbalanced experience--mild up top, an overwhelming sugar bomb at the end. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish it. All that said, it was genuinely fun to try, and it's the kind of place I'd revisit out of curiosity--especially to see what shows up seasonally. I'd absolutely be intrigued by something like a passionfruit offering.
