As a Bay Area/LA native, I had to try since I saw this is the community goods dupe but located in WA! the shop is located in downtown Redmond conveniently near the link/public transit. The store itself is well lit and has a sleek modern design but be aware there's not much table seating if you're trying to get work done. some 2 hour street parking outside but could get busy during peak hours. I visited around 2pm on a Friday afternoon and there were still plenty of donuts left but they sold out around 3pm. Not too long of a wait during this time. I ordered the strawberry matcha and the matcha cream donut. The matcha was very umami and the strawberry paired well with the drink but the syrup was a bit too sweet for my liking. The donut was very fluffy and not too sweet and the matcha cream was just perfect! Reasonably priced (~$15 for drink+ matcha) A bit overhyped on social media but the matcha wasn't bad! The strawberry skin glow (Hailey Bieber smoothie dupe) looked really interesting though and I would love to come back to try!

Tried the plain and vanilla cream donuts today. Luckily the line wasn't too long. We arrived about 15 min before opening and there were only 6 people ahead of us. We were a little disappointed that the donuts weren't that warm. It's understandable that the cream needs to be kept cold but the plain one was also cool to the touch. I will say the vanilla custard was pretty good. The vanilla tasted like real vanilla and you could see the specks in the cream. The donut itself was a little small but nice and fluffy. Overall, a decent donut, not sure if it's worth a long wait.

I came for the Erewhon dupe "strawberry skin glow" smoothie. The texture was really good and it wasn't too sweet (in a good way). I think it was worth the price and a try! I also want to revisit to try the donuts. By 3pm on a weekday, the donuts were completely sold out. The matcha latte was also pretty good. TIP: Try to avoid peak times. I came around 1pm and the line was sooo long so I left and came back around 3pm and I didn't wait in a line at all. Parking is pretty bad because there's limited street parking which fills up during busy times. Otherwise, hourly parking in the garage is $10/hour (which is crazy) and I saw someone giving out tickets for people who didn't pay so make sure you actually pay!!!

Food and service were great. The café is very quaint and adorable. My only grip is the parking. It's pretty difficult to find street parking, especially during peak hours and if you park in the parking garage, I believe you do need to pay unless you get a validated. The match was everything I wanted it to be not too sweet, especially if you do their recommend recommended and sweetness level. Price was decent on part with what you would typically get out of the Matcha café. Highly recommend you get the donuts they are delightful, creamy, pillowy, and yummy

I heard about this place and decided to give it a try. Of note: didn't expect a coffee and donut place to open at 11 and not earlier. We got there at around 1055 an there was already a long line -- advice: go on weekdays is probably best. It's right next to the light rail so pretty convenient. The place has some seatings which is nice. I wish they had more non caffeinated options though for drinks. The only option they had was 2-3x as much as their matcha and caffeinated drink.... I ended up just getting the donuts: Plain and black sesame. My kids love it so a bonus point! The texture was soft and surprisingly it wasn't greasy at all. It was a good balance of sweetness as well. I probably would come back when I'm in the area on a weekday haha. Weekend waits are not for me.

Strawberry and matcha donuts with Jasmine Matcha Cloud

Came here to check out what the type was all about - even on a weekday there was already a line outside the door right at opening time and it took about 30mins from when I joined the line to getting my food and drinks. The Jasmine Matcha Cloud drink ($6.75) was surprisingly refreshing and yummy, would definitely order that one again. The donuts were soft, fluffy and not too sweet (so that's great since I hate overly sweet desserts) but definitely not worth a 30min wait. Note that there is still a 2-donut limit in effect but that's sufficient if you're just wanting to try each flavor since they only have 2 main flavors (vanilla and matcha) + plain at any given time anyway. I hear on the weekends there's also a black sesame option. Docking a star because while the cafe is minimalistic and clean, there's not really anywhere to quietly enjoy your food/drinks because of the massive lines, and the seating area is very limited so most people just get it to go. Service was also almost non-existent with the cashier looking very grouchy at the crowds even right at opening time. I would probably stop by again if there were no lines but not worth a 30min wait IMO.

3.5 Stars My friend who lives in Redmond told me about MOWOOD, which recently opened near the Downtown Redmond light rail station, and overall, it was fine. I can't say it's my favorite matcha, by any means. But it's satisfactory and quite frankly, I think it's one of the few options for matcha in Redmond, so that's a win. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty busy, with most of the seats taken inside. They do have outdoor seating, but not much, but at least it's a place where you can take your dog. I liked that they had a dog bowl out for the fur babies, especially on such a sunny day. After asking the staff member what her favorite drink was, she recommended the banana pudding and the strawberry matcha ones. I ended up ordering the banana pudding, but was not given an option to adjust sugar level, which is a shame since I don't like my drinks sweet, especially matcha. And unfortunately, that was the case with mine. It was on the sweeter side, so I didn't taste the abundance of the matcha that I was really hoping for. I'd come back to give it another shot, especially since it's so close to the light rail station and is an area I frequent. Maybe I'll have better luck then and the donuts won't be sold out on my next visit, which I hear is fantastic. TBD.

Located in Redmond, in between salt & Straw and upcoming biang biang noddle. Parking: free 2hr street parking Seating: indoor and outdoor Restroom: 1 gender neutral restroom Fyi: they don't accept American Express Card. We stopped by around 11ish, there's already a line, but not that long. Service is pretty fast. But they just do straight to business, no conversations..its ok though, we know they barely open anymore try to serve everyone. We ordered: Plain donut Matcha cream filled donut Pistachio milk matcha latte Banana pudding matcha Strawberry matcha Overall, we like it. They are creamy, you can taste the matcha, not too sweet [our kind of drinks and dessers], the donut is very chewy and fluffy. We might come again one day if they come up with more new items.

A great place to get smoothies and Matcha! The place is located right in downtown Redmond, the place is nice and small. Service was OK. The Matcha was very creamy, the smoothie was very flavorful. The prices are reasonable. Overall, I recommend and I would come back.

new aesthetic cafe. preset ice and sweetness level. simple menu of coffee, matcha, and a strawberry skin glow smoothie. had 3 kinds of donut: matcha cream, vanilla custard, and plain. limit of 2 donuts per guest. option on the side to add additional sweetness. banana pudding matcha - pudding had real banana bits strawberry matcha - sweet, strong strawberry flavor pistachio matcha - very creamy and nutty matcha cream/plain donut - matcha cream had distinct matcha flavor, airy, fluffy, a bit chewy

I didn't get a chance to take photos of the donuts, but we tried the vanilla cream and sesame. The fillings were actually really good, but the fried dough itself was pretty oily and kind of took away from it. We also got the banana cream matcha. The whipped cream didn't have much banana flavor. Honestly, it tasted pretty plain and there were only a few small pieces of banana in it. Bananas are cheap... I wish they were a bit more generous with them. I also tried the coconut cloud, and it was okay, but nothing special. I feel like I could make it better at home with cheap matcha. One thing to note is you can't adjust the sweetness level. They give you cane sugar id you want to add sweetness but I usually prefer less sweet drinks, and this still ended up tasting kind of flat and not sweet enough. Overall, I'm glad I gave it a try, but with so many matcha spots around now, this one just didn't stand out to me. I probably wouldn't come back.

Ambiance is japanese-esque The host wasn't too welcoming but just enough. She was prob annoyed by everyone asking her what's good. We got the jasmine cloud and the strawberrry skin glow. Jasmine cloud you could def taste jasmine as you keep drinking but over all nothing special. The matcha was a bit too gritty! Strawberry glow was good but tasted a bit too sweet near the end. I would come back to try the donuts!

Jasmine Matcha Cloud + Strawberry Skin Glow smoothie
    Tiff S.

Mowood opened 4 days ago, and I stopped by the last 2 days in a row. We walked in excited that this was actually open. We tried the Jasmine Matcha Cloud and the Strawberry Skin Glow smoothie. The ingredients, particularly the sea moss, coconut cream, and vanilla collagen piqued my interest. The smoothie was so good I returned the next day for another! Unfortunately they were out of donuts on both days when I stopped by after lunch. The pictures look amazing and I hope they figure out how to scale making the donuts to accommodate all of us who want to try them soon! I overheard one of the staff say that the Strawberry Matcha Latte was their favorite so maybe I'll try that if I stop by earlier in the morning since I'm sensitive to caffeine. The staff was very friendly on both days and it was pretty busy every time I walked by on both days. I can see Mowood becoming one of my regular go-to places.

They have uniquely sourced items that are from Poland, Ukraine, and neighboring countries, as well as familiar items like house made baklava. When I shop there, I mostly concentrate on their dry goods such as sauces in jars, sweets, and easy to cook foods like frozen perogies (dumplings). Amongst the sweets, the Polish Wawel Mieszanka Krakowska chocolate covered jelly candy is a welcome treat. I enjoy wafer treats, so the Roshen wafers from Ukranine is my choice. I haven't had much luck with their produce; I skip them. (FYI: The business uses the Yelp photos to post the latest produce that has arrived, which is perfectly legitimate. But because they don't delete the previous photos, the Yelp photos suggest they may have a bigger produce section than they actually have at a given time. I was confused the first time I stepped in.) The shop is located in a strip mall with plentiful parking. The space is older, which I honestly don't care as long as it is clean. I don't require much service since I only need to pay and go. For me, this store doesn't serve the deli or the produce function in its name. But I do enjoy exploring their different items and choosing something new-to-me to try. That is good enough.
