    Hollow in the middle

I have LOVED Nana's in Japan and I'm sure this lication import all the ice cream and soft-serve mix from Japan so they taste the same. And ice creams do taste the same as in Japan. However, I always find this location putting way too much cornflakes. It's not done that way in Japan. They need to learn how to do it correctly. And, a cup of soft-serve had a big hole in the middle. It's a scam. I love Nana's but this made me not wanting to go back. It was a HUGE disappointment. Please learn how to make proper soft-serve cups as well. Service also could've been better.

I've met Nana in Singapore several times before... LOL I was ecstatic to learn there was a location in Bellevue. I don't remember the menu having this many choices. Looks like the menu expanded or its the "bigger is better" cliche for zzz eMuricans... Murica! The venue is a good size as well, well to be fair Singapore doesn't have much room. Parking, now that's a different story. Good luck with that, especially on a busy day. Our interaction with with the staff was pleasant, no issues, no dramas. #SWEETS: Parfait ------------------------------------------ ~ Black Sesame Warabimochi Parfait - 4/5 More like 3.5 **** runded up to 4 **** Never thought I'd catch myself saying this: The Black Sesame itself was too strong, akin to eating Black Sesame paste. Almost not enjoyable. However, when you mix it up with everything it's much better! The Ice Cream and the rest of the Parfait balances the taste. ~ Hojicha Warabimochi Parfait - 4.5/5 Basically a perfect Hojicha Parfait. Good tea flavor, not too sweet, very satisfying. I don't remember these flavors in Singapore. So glad I got to try them. Can't wait to see Nana's in the bay.

I love Nana's Green Tea! I am a huge fan of Black Sesame and their Black Sesame parfait is incredible. I love stopping by here when I am in the area and getting a treat. Everything I have tried has been great. Highly recommend!

Tried two matcha drinks from Nana's Green Tea and both were seriously refreshing and well-balanced. The matcha soda with soft serve was the surprise favorite -- crisp, lightly sparkling, and not overly sweet. The soft serve melted into the drink perfectly and made it extra creamy without overpowering the matcha flavor. The matcha frappe with soft serve was richer and smoother, with a stronger creamy texture and a nice earthy matcha flavor. Friendly staffs. No more parking validation.

It was a hot day, and we thought we should get something to cool us down as we enjoy a nice walk around the park. Nana's Green Tea is a great place to get something to go or to stay in. They have drinks, soft serve and parfait options. We got the matcha swirl and the summer special Yuzu mochi cone. The service was quick; however, the matcha cone looked like it need a stronger base. It was literally almost falling over when we got it. The Yuzu cone was supposed to come with 3 mochis, but they only put 2. When I asked about it, the server quickly apologized and gave me 2 more. Unfortunately, one of the mochis promptly fell onto the floor as I was holding the cone. Other than that, we enjoyed our treat.

A unique cafe recommended to us that specializes in matcha and hojicha. They offered a pretty spacious area for indoor seating and seemed like a great place to study or do work. We tried the matcha espresso shot an onigiri which was a nice little treat. The staff were helpful in explaining the differences between the variations of drinks and we got a pager for our order. This place is definitely not your average coffee shop which is why we found it to be such a cool experience. The matcha espresso was very light in comparison to a normal shot but was tasteful. Prices were comparable to your local Starbucks. Would definitely come back to try something different next time!

NANA'S GREEN TEA @ BELLEVUE Parking is pretty easy here, there's a lot right next to the shop, and there's also free street parking. When I arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night, there were still a few spots open. If you see street parking first, I'd just take it. The walk isn't bad at all. My friends and I visited Nana's Green Tea after hearing about it nonstop on social media and from people we know. When we walked in, the place was packed, people everywhere and we had arrived around 8:30 PM, about 30 minutes before closing. By that time, they were only taking to-go orders, and all the bakery items were already sold out. They still had their full drink menu available, though. I ordered the matcha soft serve, and my friends tried a couple of the parfait-style drinks, one with cereal and one with horchata. Altogether, it came out to about $30. It's definitely on the pricier side. The soft serve came from a standard machine, and the matcha flavor wasn't anything special. For $8, it felt a bit overpriced, and I've had much better quality matcha elsewhere. As for the parfait, it was decent but very simple, whipped cream, three mochi pieces, and ice cream. The flavor was interesting, but again, not necessarily worth the price. The ambiance is nice, though. The space is modern, clean, and bright, with high tables and a really lively vibe. The only downside was the service, staff seemed rushed and pushed us to order quickly, which I understand since we came in close to closing, but it still felt a bit overwhelming. Overall, I don't think I'd come back. Nothing stood out enough to justify the price, and the flavors were pretty ordinary. But if you're a big matcha fan and you're already in the area, it might still be worth stopping by to try it for yourself.

Ok, so of all the Japanese icecream shops I've been to, Nana's Green tea has got to be my favorite so far! I Love All the flavors they offer. The Hojicha is my favorite! It has a strong roasted tea flavor, mmmm so Good! The Black sesame & Matcha icecream were so good too, with strong flavors of matcha and the Black sesame almost tasted like peanut butter. While here I also grabbed a bag of sencha & Hojicha tea. Whenever I'm in the area, I always make it a point to stop in for some ice cream or soft serve! Highly recommend!!

NANA'S GREEN TEA IN BELLEVUE~ What I ordered... {Matcha Warabimochi Parfait}: - The parfait had perfect sweetness (not too sweet). Matcha taste profile was nice too...pretty earthy. I really enjoyed the toppings included: matcha ice cream, whipped cream, red bean, warabi mochi, corn flakes, and matcha jellies. All of the toppings complement the parfait very well! Loved the corn flakes as it added a nice crunch and the warabi mochi too. The mochi was superrrr soft; tastes pretty authentic! This parfait is worth a try! {Strawberry Matcha Latte}; - I believe this drink is seasonal but I'd say it's skippable. I was highly anticipating the matcha in this drink to have the same earthy profile as the parfait but unfortunately it didn't. The drink tastes very milky/bland, and I don't think I'd be reordering this unfortunately. Ambiance wise, it's a very nice store inside and well-kept! Place is super clean/modern. This location, is definitely more accessible compared to the downtown Seattle location. Customer service has room for improvement...underwhelming...as the worker kept minimal interaction. However, because of the location and the parfait alone, I'd return and next time, hopefully the service is improved on :)

I've been to Anna's many times but never tried the warobimochi parfait and babbyyyyyyyy I was missing out (their ice cream and lattes are great as well). But omg. Seriously this is one of the best things I've ever eaten. The wariobimochi is amazing, probably better than what I had in Japan multiple times. The matcha ice cream, superb as always. But the matcha on the botttom??? Wowowowow tantalizing and amazing! The matcha jellies at the bottom were fantastic too!! A bit too much corn flakes for me, but those were such a great addition too. I'm also not a red bean fan, but even this was fantastic I know people find this place basic among a sea of marchas in Seattle and Bellevue, but seriously, it's some of the best quality in the area!

The interior of this cafe is so earthy. There was a wooden beam structure that reminded me of a house. There was some seating but the area is quite compact. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety on the menu. I opted for a hojicha latte sweetened and with oat milk. The flavor was very rich and the roasted flavor really came through. I like that there were onigiris available along with pastries. Even though it appeared busy, I got my drink fairly quick. This is definitely a nice place to grab a quick drink and go!

Came here for dessert after dinner in old Bellevue. My friends convinced me to come here even though I'm not a big matcha fan. I got the matcha soft serve which I figured I'd give a chance just because it was something I hadn't seen before. Recommend getting it if you like matcha, not if you aren't a fan :) The service is good they added a self serve ordering kiosk which is convenient and makes the line move fast. Inside there's plenty of seating which is nice. Plenty of street parking always available in old Bellevue so no issues getting to the place.

Been meaning to visit for a long time as I was recommended by a friend! The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon, and lot of people were just taking drinks/pastries to go because there was no where to sit. Lots of people are studying or just enjoying their time there. Parking was difficult to find. There is only street parking, but the walk isn't bad. We ended up getting a couple of pastries (about $6-7 each), which were all so good. I definitely want to try the drinks next time. Since this place specializes in matcha/green tea items, I would recommend those items. I like that they describe the differences between all of the different kinds of matcha/hojicha on their menu. It shows that they did their research beforehand and presented it in a way that someone new to matcha/hojicha could easily understand. They have lots of options like red bean and sesame options too.

    Validation is no longer available

Are there any non-dairy options for the drinks?

Yes, Matcha Soda - Matcha Americano, Latte with Oat/Soy/Almond milk

Do they allow dogs inside if we choose to dine in? If not, can we bring our pup in to order then leave after we pick up our to go items?

Unsure if they do. But if they do it can get quite crowded and loud in there. A dog could get anxiety.

No there is not. I heard there is no kitchen at this location so doesn't sound like there will be future plans either. All the pastries are made at the Seattle location.

The mango version was refreshing with chunky mango pieces, though I personally wished it had a little more topping. The black sesame had a rich, nutty flavor that would be perfect if you're a fan of black sesame. My favorite was the tiramisu, it had a generous, flavorful tiramisu layer on top that paired really well with the coconut. I also liked that the desserts weren't overly sweet or heavy, making them a nice option when you're craving something light and refreshing. The staff was friendly, helped us choose flavors even though we arrived close to closing time, and the service was quick. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors. The coconut pudding texture is incredibly smooth and creamy, making it a really refreshing dessert. Another nice bonus is that you get to keep the glass jars they serve the desserts in. I also noticed they have a selection of bottled drinks available to take home as well. Overall, I had a great experience at this location and would highly recommend stopping by. The berry juices even add flavor to the bingsoo below (and there are berries at the bottom). The only mediocre aspect is the whipped cream on top which is just whatever. Taro Bingsoo - the menu has alternated between ube ice cream and taro ice cream but I think it's always been taro ice cream because it's not overly sweet. Here's the corrected version with it described as a dessert: This location is inside Bellevue Square, which makes it a super convenient option if you're already shopping at the mall. If you don't want to go into Bellevue Square, they also have another location just a couple of streets away in downtown Bellevue that's a standalone shop. Honestly, I'd recommend either location depending on where you are. I've been to the downtown Bellevue location before, and while I liked it, parking can be a little difficult since it's mostly street parking and the area is pretty hilly. At the Bellevue Square location, parking is much easier. You can park in any of the mall garages or outdoor lots for free. It's first come, first serve, but weekdays are usually not too busy. Weekends tend to be much busier, though you'll probably still be able to find a spot. The shop itself is very small and can feel pretty cramped. It's difficult to move around when there are a lot of people inside, and the lines can get a bit long. There are only a few tables available for seating. I stopped by with my mom to try the Mango Mochi Coconut dessert that I'd been wanting to try for a while. It came out to around $12. The dessert itself was really good, I loved the coconut flavor. It had a smooth, pudding-like texture with soft mochi pieces that made it unique and super enjoyable. One downside was the customer service. The staff didn't seem very friendly, and everything felt a little rushed. I also thought they had a rewards program here, but apparently it's only available at some of their other locations, which was disappointing. Overall, the dessert was delicious, and this location is incredibly convenient if you're already at Bellevue Square. That said, I personally prefer their downtown Bellevue location because there's more seating and the staff there have always been much friendlier.

The cafe has tons of mango decorations inside so it is pretty cute, although there are many mango boxes around the store. That's how you know it is fresh! The mango romance with the trio of their best sellers is always a good starting point for first-timers. My favorite thing to get is the jumbo chewy rice ball, mango coconut jelly, and mango mochi. - The chewy rice ball is served with fresh, pureed mango and it is perfect for a hot day if you are planning to sit at the restaurant. I love to get the mango coconut jelly to-go. - The coconut jelly is creamy and plentiful, topped with sweet mango chunks, agar pearls, and the chewy rice balls. SO good and underrated in my opinion. - The mango mochi features a chilled mango chunk wrapped in soft, stretchy mochi and covered in coconut flakes. Also a great snack and everyone who has tried it has loved it! - I've also tried the curry fish balls. They are a good savory snack, nice curry flavor, and an enjoyable bouncy texture. Hui Lau Shan will always be my favorite dessert spot - especially in the summer. Any mango fans have to come by!

CHICHA San Chen delivers a premium tea experience, but it comes with a premium price tag! It's…read morebasically $10 for a drink, and they only offer one size, which is the smaller size of a usual tea place's volume. BUT they are remarkably consistent, with perfectly chewy pearls and high quality teas. So, even though I'm paying a lot, I know it's going to be good. I got the Dong Ding Oolong with cream, perfect sweet and less ice with boba. The Dong Ding oolong is a high mountain oolong with a strong malty, nutty, roasty taste. It perfectly complements the cream. I prefer cream as opposed to milk since I think the cream gives the drink a thicker, more velvety mouthfeel if you mix it into the tea, plus before mixing you can sip on the cream and the tea separately, so it's like you can enjoy two drinks in one cup!

Since Chicha San Chen opened its Bellevue Square location, I have stopped by a couple times. While…read morethey serve some of the best boba, the tea flavor tastes a bit diluted compared to what I noted in my previous review. Because they brew each cup on order, I expected the tea to be more apparent, but in every drink I've tried it takes a backseat to other flavors. + DONG DING OOLONG TEA LATTE: I opted for light sugar and light ice. Despite being one of the most popular drinks, the tea flavor was weak and the cream dominated. It had a smooth consistency with subtle caramel notes, so it still tasted good, but I would have loved for the tea to shine more. At least the $1 addition of boba is pretty generous and I had enough for every sip! It was perfectly cooked with that nice chewy bounce. Since the boba itself is sweetened, going to 0% sweetness would probably be just sweet enough for me. + OSMANTHUS TEA w/ PASSIONFRUIT: Again, this leaned heavily toward the passionfruit rather than delivering a distinct tea flavor. (Side note: At the register, I received a sample of the High Mountain Pouchong Tea with Mango. This was sweet, super fruity and reminded me of mango nectar. It's really delicious, but only had a tiny hint of green tea.) + OSMANTHUS OOLONG HONEY TEA: I selected light sugar and light ice without toppings, hoping to taste the pure tea. I picked up the floral notes of the Osmanthus and the tea flavor came through a wee bit more than the other drinks, though still wasn't the dominant flavor. The amount of honey was on the verge of being too sweet, but the drink overall was refreshing and crisp. The new location in Bellevue Square is very clean with a few tables for two along the wall. It is consistently busy, so just be prepared for a wait. However, there are multiple employees preparing the drinks, so while the line appears long, they churn out orders pretty quickly without getting flustered. It's impressive! Given the steep pricing for the cup size and the weak tea flavor, Chicha San Chen wouldn't be my go-to spot considering all the other boba tea options in Bellevue.
