Delicious! Everything was made to order and very fresh and hot. They are very accomidating and willing to delete items from dishes if needed. We had the wonton soup which had a slight curry to the broth and was very tasty. We also tried the soft spring rolls with chicken which was a smaller portion but very good. Our main dishes included the glass noodles with veggies and meat. The veggies were cooked just right. We enjoyed our meal and will be back again. read more

We love Thai food. We cook it (sort of), and have eaten in awesome restaurants all over. Sala Thai is probably one of the best we've eaten in. We had Spring Rolls, Tom Kha Gai and Basil Eggplant with shrimp. The spring rolls were only "good" with sauces that were just a hair on the vinegar side for my taste. But the soup and the eggplant more than made up for it. The soup was incredibly fragrant and loaded with lemon grass, cilantro and ginger. "Delicious" doesn't do it justice. Same for the basil eggplant. It was somewhat spicy (American) and just the right amount of sweet hot sauce with fragrant herbs. I would have asked for it hotter but my lips were chapped and hot food burns, lol. We were already talking about coming back to this restaurant. read more

A northshore friend took me to Sala Thai on a whim last night because I asked for somewhere quiet and intimate for dinner. It was absolutely the right choice! The restaurant is housed in a cottage, which gives it a very homey and comfortable vibe. We were the only diners in our little room which left me a lot of room to thoroughly enjoy the food. Since I moved here from San Francisco nearly five years ago, I have been on the lookout for a good authentic Thai restaurant. None of the ones here in the city have been able to live up to that. As soon as we were seated and I looked at the menu I let out an involuntary squeal of delight. Tom kha gai! My favorite chicken soup with coconut milk, galangal and lemongrass. It's hard to explain how much you can miss this soup when it is one of your favorite dishes. I started with the chicken dumplings, so perfectly and delicately seasoned that I literally smelled each and every bite before dipping it in the provided sauce. Then my beloved soup finally arrived and it was every bit as good as I remembered from SF, filling my soul with warmth and happiness. For my main course I ordered the pineapple chicken fried rice, also a longstanding Thai favorite and it too was sensational with just the right mixture of cashews, carrots, egg, green onion, rice, chicken and pineapple. I didn't eat very much of my fried rice, however, because I was saving room for dessert. Hoping against hope that it would be just as good as I remembered, I ordered mango with sticky rice. It was an absolutely perfect ending to a perfect meal and I thanked the waiter profusely, so happy to have found a Thai place with all my favorite dishes, spiced to perfection, cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back! I highly recommend this establishment. (Also, the waiter was back several times throughout our meal to check on us and make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Attentive service is something I am really picky about, so I was even more pleased to find that perfect fusion of environment, service and good food.) read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Covington. Food is consistently great. I have had the Pad Kee Mow at least 4 times. I love it! My husband has been getting the Green Curry with brown rice. Serving size always allows for a "doggie bag" and a little snack later in the day. No alcohol served, but you can BYOB and they'll keep it cool for you. read more

The second best Thai food I have ever eaten! I don't understand at all why it wasn't packed. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the price could not be more reasonable. If you are looking for Asian cuisine on the Northshore then definitely do yourself a favor and go to Sala Thai! We will be going back very soon. read more
