A few weeks later there is a follow up appointment (included with the consultation) to see how the changes are going. As if she knew, Shea had me come for a bodywork session. I have to say, this is more than an average massage. I am a piece of work: Fused vertebrae, tight muscles, gait is off due to a foot injury that had me in a walking boot off and on for 3 years. After the first session I knew I had finally found someone who looked at the "whole picture", not just the one (or more) parts of me that are broken. I have been going on a regular basis ever since, Shea has become an integral part of my healing. If needed, and wanted, Shea also makes customized tinctures for your specific needs, they are usually ready for pickup within a day or two. The office is clean & friendly. You will loose herbs, tincture remedies, teas. A gem in our neighborhood!

Leann was warm, kind, and genuinely attentive -- the kind of customer service that stands out for shoppers coming from Land Park, Curtis Park, and East Sac. And Andrew, the assistant manager, showed real care in how he interacted with customers, these characteristics make huge difference for people who shop across Oak Park, Downtown Sacramento, and the surrounding Midtown area. To be honest, I don't always feel welcomed when I go to the Co‑op, but this visit was different. The team made the environment feel friendly, safe, and community‑oriented -- exactly what you hope for in a Midtown Sacramento local market that serves shoppers from Land Park, East Sac, Curtis Park, Oak Park, and Downtown Sacramento. I truly hope the Sac Food Co‑op sees this review and has a conversation about how important nonverbal communication can be. A simple smile, eye contact, and warm‑hearted intention can completely transform a customer's experience. Today, this Midtown team got it right. If you're looking for a positive, welcoming grocery experience in Midtown Sacramento, Land Park, East Sac, Curtis Park, Oak Park, or Downtown Sacramento, this visit reminded me why the Co‑op is such an important part of our Sacramento community. This day I had a tasty pizza slice and highly recommend the cranberry oatmeal cookie.

I have always liked Whole Foods and I always look forward to visiting when I get the chance. The bakery is always fully stocked with cakes, pies, cookies and even gluten free and vegan dessert options! Their hot food section always smells great - I picked up some of their pasta salad during my last visit and it was so good! Their cheese, wine and beer selection is also top tier! My husband always finds the best beers at Whole Foods that he can't find at other places. I love buying meat here too - especially when it comes already seasoned. They also sell my favorite coffee which is the Nola from Blue Bottle - I can't find Nola anywhere else usually except for Whole Foods! I try and stock up whenever I'm there! The aisles and shelves are always well stocked and organized. Their produce selection is always aesthetically pleasing! Staff is always friendly and helpful!

I purchased milk thistle seeds from Starwest and discovered a RAT DROPPING in the bag! Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until after I had already poured the seeds into a blend with other herbs, resulting in over $300 in lost product. I immediately documented the contamination and sent Starwest the lot number and a photo of the dropping. Despite following up several times, their response was dismissive and uncaring. They asked for more photos and videos--when I had already explained there was only one dropping, which I scooped out and photographed. After that, I never heard back again. No accountability, no refund, no replacement, not even a genuine apology. On top of that, the seeds themselves were low grade--pale and poor in quality, not the dark, almost black color that fresh, high-quality milk thistle should be. This is not just a product issue--it's a serious health and safety concern combined with terrible customer service. Starwest failed me tremendously, and I can't in good conscience recommend them to anyone. If you value quality, safety, and a company that stands behind its products, do not shop with Starwest Botanicals.

I purchased clearance food items that I later realized -- without even opening them -- were clearly not fresh and not safe to eat. This is especially serious to me because I have children, and I rely on stores to sell food that is safe for families. What makes this worse is that I was told in the store that these products were "safe" and that employees buy them themselves. When I returned to request a refund, one associate initially said it would be accepted. However, the same employee who originally reassured me suddenly refused, became visibly upset, and told me "it's the law" that they cannot take the items back. That statement is misleading -- stores cannot avoid responsibility for selling food that is not safe for consumption. On top of that, during the same visit I was overcharged for other items compared to the posted prices, which added to my frustration and concern about how this business operates. This was not just poor customer service -- it raises serious concerns about food safety and consumer rights. I strongly recommend that others carefully inspect any items before purchasing here and double-check prices at checkout.
