Such a beautiful new place, the atmosphere is great, with good music and beautiful decoration. I went for drinks and apps and they were good, I do think it's a little bit pricey. The only bad thing was that we went there a week earlier to make a reservation for a party of 14. The hostess came to our table to confirm the reservation. We showed up on the day of the reservation, and to our surprise, we weren't in their system. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze in a couple of high-tops and enjoy the rest of the night.

My husband and I ate here last night at the bar. Our bartender Kyle was super attentive & helpful in helping us pick out some small bites to eat. All the food was really good. We enjoyed the wine, pigs in a blanket, charcuterie, tuna tartar, and croquettes. We'll be back again to try out the entrées.

So excited to check out this new place on Rome. Love the space- so open, inviting and huge 2 bars. Got 2 bar seats on a Wednesday night, busier than I'd thought it be! However first impression was our bartender giving us the WEAKEST pour of wine I've ever seen. Was about half a glass so that made me bummed out. We made sure to ask the OTHER bartender for a refill and thankfully he knew the correct pour for a glass of wine. For food, pan de tomate was refreshing and delicious with beautiful bread. Tuna tartare was delicious - I wish there were more than 2 pieces! Beef cannelloni was phenomenal. The mushrooms on top were a beautiful addition. Lastly, the salad with caper berries and cheese was the perfect crispy greens we needed with the heavier cannelloni. Overall, fantastic tapas place! Hopefully will be back soon to taste the paella :)

I had such a great experience at Lumbre! We ordered a TON of food so we could try a little bit of everything, which is definitely the way to do it here. The whole menu is made for sharing and we honestly didn't have a bad dish. We tried the octopus, croquettes, short rib, tuna crispy rice, bikini, and so much more. The octopus was cooked perfectly, the croquettes were SO good, and the short rib was probably one of my favorites. The tuna crispy rice was another favorite and I would 100% order it again. Even with everything we ordered, we still managed to save room for the churros and cheesecake and I'm glad we did because both were amazing. I also loved the atmosphere. It feels upscale and fun without being too formal, and it's a great place to go with a group because you can order a bunch of different things for the table and try everything. The service was great too, especially considering how many dishes we ordered. Such a fun addition to Tampa and definitely somewhere I'd recommend for a date night, dinner with friends, or if you just want to order half the menu like we did We'll definitely be back!

Only open a couple of months and already booked solid -- even on a Tuesday, the earliest OpenTable slot was 9pm. Worth the late seating. This Spanish tapas spot sits right across the parking lot from Willa's and somehow I'd never heard of it, which is a shame because it's better than Spain Restaurant & Toma Bar downtown in every category: food, atmosphere, service. The one-page menu splits into small bites (bocados), starters (entrantes), and large-format plates meant for 2-4 people. We skipped the cheese/charcuterie section and the large format, and built a meal from six tapas instead: marinated olives (citrus-marinated, surprisingly good), patatas bravas (genuinely excellent -- better than the disappointing version at Spain Restaurant downtown), pulpo (properly tenderized octopus, though the mashed potato purée underneath didn't need to be there), matrimonio (fresh anchovies on bruschetta -- nothing like canned anchovies, truly fantastic), croquetas de jamón (my favorite of the night -- thin crust, melts in your mouth, perfectly balanced ham/cheese/béchamel), and cannelloni stuffed with braised short rib and veal demi-glace. We also added the mushrooms with sherry, pancetta, and a raw egg yolk on top -- beautiful presentation, though the mushrooms didn't really need it. For dessert, both the Basque cheesecake and the torrijas (a light bread-pudding-style dish with whipped yogurt and plum) were excellent and hard to choose between. Service was outstanding all night -- seated within 60 seconds, attentive water refills, fresh flatware between courses. We sat at the counter facing the open kitchen, which made for great entertainment watching the cooks work. One of the founders reportedly cooked and managed at Rocca before spending time in Spain. Wouldn't be surprised if this place earns a Michelin star within a year. Highly recommend -- book ahead.

We dined in on opening night. The restaurant is very nice. Its very large and open with lots of seating and windows. The renovated building is nice. They have a large bar that overlooks the kitchen as well which is a nice touch. The menu is small, but its got everything you would . We ordered the Gambas Al Ajillo Tortilla (this is like an egg with potatoes) Paella and a Iberico pork entree. Cocktail: La Huerta.

We visited Lumbre on opening night, and wow... it's a whole vibe. The space is beautiful, but what really stood out was the open kitchen and chef's counter. Watching the team work added so much to the experience and made the meal feel incredibly interactive. Chef Nick was fantastic and is clearly the heartbeat of the restaurant. His passion comes through in every detail. GM Lauren was incredibly friendly and made it a point to stop by and greet every table, which really set the tone for the evening and made everyone feel welcome. Katerina, the sommelier, was gracious in taking the time to walk us through the Spanish wine list and answer all of our questions. Everything we tried was excellent, and we're already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu and cocktail program. An unexpected highlight was Gabriel delivering our espresso cocktails. He has the best energy, and his enthusiasm was contagious. We will absolutely request his service when we return! Pro tip: End your meal with the carajillo and/or the classic espresso martini made with Tequila Ocho Reposado. Both were outstanding and the perfect finish to the evening. One bonus: parking was surprisingly easy. There's a public lot directly across the street. We can't wait to come back!

I was super excited when I managed to snag an opening night reservation for Lumbre. This group has always impressed me, so I was really looking forward to trying this space out! The space is GORGEOUS, and the staff were all amazing. Our waiter, George, was phenomenal with recommendations for everything that we asked about and truly did not miss. We ordered several shareables and starters, and they were all incredible. Between myself and my friend, we probably got half of the menu. The salad, the mushrooms, the PATATAS BRAVAS! All of the food that we got to enjoy was amazing. The pan con tomate? OUTTA THIS WORLD. The wine list is killer. We tried four different wines in total, and we were impressed with each one. George introduced us to a new one (Tempranillo blanco - who knew?), and we loved it. We'll definitely be back to order the cocktails, since we stuck to wine this time around. Overall, I absolutely recommend checking Lumbre out.

Great experience from the team behind Rocca. Went for a semi soft opening week and we were blown away by the ambience. Surrounded by the open kitchen and seeing all the amazing food going out! Not an unhappy face in the place. We were so full after our small plates but still had to sample the traditional paella and what a bomb of flavors. Another one to add to the list of amazing Tampa bay restaurant experiences.

George (Jorge) is an amazing host, make sure to come see him. Everything was amazing! My favorite was the super crunchy patas bravas. The group didn't really eat up the croquetas for some unknown reason- I couldn't try due to allergies. The paella was killer- the hens have everyone's mouth salivating. Literally the best thing on the menu: patatas and paella; the charcuterie was awesome too!!! Come hungry. It's a total vibe.

Beautiful new addition to Rome Ave. The bartenders are very attentive and gave great menu suggestions. I tried the Machete drink with watermelon, chile and tequila. This was a unique blend with so much flavor. In addition I had the tuna tartare with yellow fin tuna. Amazing! The space is warm and well thought out with a gorgeous seating are at the dimly lit bar. I truly had a great experience at Lumbre. I can't wait to come back for the charcuterie and gambas!

Tampa has opened up another gem!! Came here for opening night with my friends and had a phenomenal time. The restaurant itself is located on a corner, and there was a decent amount of parking available. Entering the bulking, I was amazed. Beautiful lighting and very spacious. It didn't feel like some of these new places where they try to cram hundreds of tables into a 700sqft space. Our waitresses was alado amazing. Very prompt, friendly, and providing great recommendations. For the table, we ordered the Tartare, the Pulpo, Patatas Bravas, Gambas al Ajillo and the Bikini. Literally every single dish was 10/10. I completely blown away especially for it being opening night..that's usually when a lot of kinks are worked through. No kinks here! The night went on flawlessly. We are already planning for our next outing here to try the dessert!

Still run by descendants of the founder. We had a Saturday 7pm reservation and the place was packed (seats around 1,700 people, per our server), but we were seated only 5-6 minutes late and service never felt strained despite the crowd. Started with warm, authentic Cuban bread and butter, then split the Original "1905" Salad -- tossed and served tableside, with Romano cheese, garlic dressing, ham, tomatoes, lettuce, and Swiss cheese. It's basically an entree on its own. The empanadas were also excellent: light crust, extremely flavorful filling, juices running with every bite. For my entree I had the Red Snapper "Adelita" -- grilled, topped with hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, served over their signature yellow rice. Perfectly cooked fish, very flavorful toppings. For dessert, we compared the key lime pie against the white chocolate bread pudding. The pie was well-made -- perfect texture, perfect graham cracker crust, light raspberry sauce -- but a touch light on the tart key lime punch I look for. The bread pudding was the better dish: rich, decadent, excellent. Finished with proper Cuban espresso. The menu here is enormous -- expect to need multiple visits to make a dent in it. Everything we tried was excellent. Highly recommend, but book ahead on weekends; even with 1,700 seats, this place fills up.

We were told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait, but it was hardly a 20 minute wait. The ambiance of the place is so homey, and the staff is generally pleasant. First of all, do not underestimate the BREAD. It is probably, hands down, the best baguette bread I have had in the US. We had croquette and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. They were good. For my main course, I had the mahi mahi varadero and it was really good. It came with crab and Spanish rice, and was breaded with crispy plantains. It was good, although I generally don't like Spanish rice. HOWEVER, if I had to recommend a dish, it would be the mahi-mahi cayo-Hueso. It was marinated with citrus flavors and it was divine. Now I don't know who in our party ordered the fries, but they were amazing and felt as good as home fries. Now to the dessert, we ordered almost one of each and it was some of the best dessert I have had in my life -not too sweet, made well, and with real ingredients. I would have ordered my own cafe con leche but it was too late for me in the day but man did I wish I could have had my own cup instead os stolen sips. A record would not be complete without aknowledging the staff. Our waiter was Alfredo and he was such a nice, sweet, and accommodating waiter. He was also patient with such a large party. Thank you, Alfredo!

Skipped the sit-down cafeteria side and grabbed the counter seating instead, which had a fun bar-style setup. Service was fast -- they got our water order in immediately, and we followed up with a large café con leche. Plenty of coffee for the price, though the red plastic cup was a letdown compared to a proper mug. Food came out in under five minutes, which is impressive for how good it was. I got the Milanesa -- a breaded steak in red sauce -- with yellow rice and black beans on the side, and it was excellent for the price. My wife had the Ropa Vieja with yucca and Moros rice, and it didn't disappoint: tender, soft beef with rich tomato sauce and just a hint of olive coming through. We were there for an hour and not one time did she ask if I'd like a refill. 2)When she made the 1905 table side she literally 'dropped' a handful of salad ON THE FLOOR between my wife's and my seat......she kind of chuckled, gave us our salads and walked away. She literally left the SALAD ON THE FLOOR THE ENTIRE MEAL! During the course of our meal probably 20 employees walked by and never bothered to pick it up. I started with a red sangria which was only five dollars. However it was very dry and only had one little slice of orange on it. He had caldo galego which he really enjoyed and I found very flavorful. I had the lentil soup, which seemed to lack flavor. When I had lentil soup at other restaurants (Colombian or Cuban) it was flavored with onion, garlic, chorizo and cilantro. Perhaps Spanish cuisine is known for lighter flavoring? My ropa vieja was good however I had to pick from green beans or rice. It's a sacrilege to serve Ropa Vieja without rice, but I wanted to try the green beans. My partner had the seafood paella which he found delicious. We also tried the first dessert which was excellent.
