Plenty of seating and outdoor seating if you're bringing your dog like I did! The decor inside is nice and it's a clean shop. We ordered the Eric's road trip smash burger. You get chips with your order. Water is self serve. The only downside was that there were only 2 employees working so service was slow, but they were nice. It took 20 minutes for our burger to come out and they bring it to you if you're dining in. It was sooo good we were so surprised! We loved the bread and how crispy the meat was. Today while in Morro Bay we were hungry for a burger. We weren't sure where to go but while driving down Morro Blvd. I stopped at Babydudes so my wife could pick up some of their chocolate chip cookies. She came back to the car with the cookies and a menu. She told me the woman behind the counter said their smash burger is excellent. That's all I needed to hear; actually she got me at smash. The woman who turned out to be the owner was very attentive and confident in her menu which was very helpful. We both ordered the smash burger and a drink. We sat outside which is different patio tables and chairs spread out under umbrellas. Our food was delivered promptly and it looked great. My wife normally doesn't order cheese burgers and missed that the smash burger comes with cheese. When she realized her mistake, she told the young lady that she would remember for next time, even though she offered to make her a new burger. Shortly thereafter, the owner came out to check on us and asked about redoing her burger and when my wife thanked her and told her that she declined the offer from me kitchen, the owner insisted and took her burger and said that she would wrap it for me to have later. That situation alone and her concern for my wife's contentment was awesome and unlike anything we've seen in a restaurant. Obviously, this owner truly cares about her customers. As for the smash burger, OMG!!!! Delicious, tasty, flavorful, satisfying and juicy are some of the words that describe this burger. My wife said it reminded her of a backyard burger. We now have two reasons to visit Babydudes, their chocolate chip cookies and their smash burger. We will definitely be back!!! read more

When we approached, I asked what was going on and a person who worked there warmly invited us in. Great vibes. When we went to purchase beer, Ana took care of us. Ana was SO warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We tried the chocolate chip cookies (holy moly - soooo good!!). We played pinball machines and danced to the DJ set. I'm honestly offended to read the one stars because we had such an incredible experience, I refuse to believe that these people (Karens?) took it up with the staff as this is a family owned & operated establishment. This means the owners themselves are in there...wiping tables, serving the food, cooking the food, taking the orders personally... there's no way that the staff - the family.... Knew how these customers felt. It's tough to believe the complaints at all because everything was SO impressive. The cookie was crusted with a natural, good crunch but toward the middle gets super moist while the flavors intensify between the sweet, sprinkled with bits of salt. The lamb burger was balanced in juicy, organic flavors - said by a previous chef himself, my husband...believe it or not it's hard to find "balance" in foods, even to a decent cheeseburger because you can order a burger anywhere but ask yourself why they don't all taste the same? Because burgers are flavored differently. So the lamb burger...especially lamb...is an art to get right. Extremely satisfying, well done girls! The smash burger....smashing, darlings. Best I ever had! Seriously I crave it even now as I write about it. Juicy, flavored, perfectly cooked...organic. Again, be proud...well done, owners. Trust and believe the staff on their recommendations are honest so if in doubt then ask or have that conversation with them because they are very hospitable and will tell you what's really good! Upon searching for a burger for my boyfriend in this area that could bring him joy I stumbled on this place and the reviews were raving. I was skeptical at first because it seemed too good to be true. It wasn't. It met and exceeded expectations. My boyfriend had the Ms. frizzle burger and I had the chicken salad sandwich. Both of them are top tier choices. I will add this, I do not eat beef since I was 11, I'm 40 now. I've tried bites of my boyfriend's burgers or steaks over the years and I always end up spitting them out, sorry to be gross. But this time was different, not only did I take a bite and fully eat it, I asked for another bite. I would come here and eat half a burger with him any day here as it was that good. It feels ridiculous to pay this much for a tuna fish sandwich and yet I happily do it over and over and over again because it is that amazing. It's perfectly balanced - crunchy vinegary salty lemony briney with homemade bread. It's perfection Also, the burgers are incredible. Best burgers I've ever had. I love a smash burger and every time I order one of theirs I'm blown away. My favorites are the Ohgee and the Ms Frizzle. Cookies and brownie are also delicious. The ambiance inside is a little funky - not as warm and inviting as the food and service deserve - but it's evolving so do not be dissuaded by the mishmash decor. The food was very good, but the ordering process was kind of odd. They only had one physical dinner menu that everyone in line had to share....you would think they would have enough copies so that you could take it to your table. They also did not let you run a tab, again odd for a "small plate appetizer" menu. They also did not let you taste wine without buying a glass at $14. This place is just wonderful all around, from the friendly and knowledgeable staff to the super excellent food we had. We came in early in the day as we were looking to have a quick lunch and saw that they were open and had some nice patio spots available to sit at. I ended up ordering the chicken melt sandwich and they were able to do that gluten free for me and I was so impressed with whoever supplies their gluten free breads and buns here as it was actually delicious! That is hard to find! The boyfriend got the smash burger and they were also able to make that gluten-free as well. Both sandwiches were top notch in flavor and presentation. Meats were so juicy and tender for everything and I really loved that everything was super fresh and just so darned flavorful. We also splurged on the mushroom toast which we split as an appetizer. I gotta tell you, it was worth the splurge for both of us as we were so darned happy with it! The amount of flavor that the chef here packed into those mushrooms and that amazing sauce and bread was just fantastic. And then, I really have to try not to drool into my keyboard here, we had the most incredibly chocolate cake I've ever had in this county. Nearly a week later and I'm still having flashbacks. Babydudes is such a nice addition to Morro Bay! This spot has a lot of great outdoor space, a very friendly dog and great people. The food is fantastic, locally sourced and a great deal. We tried the BLT and the Chicken Sanadwich, both were very hearty an prepared with care. Thick cuts of bacon cooked with just a light crisp and very fresh veggies on top. The chicken sandwich was massive, super light breading to give a little crunch. The bread on the BLT was so good, I'd buy the bread by itself. I love how environmental- and health-conscious this place is. Unfortunately, I am not very health-conscious and probably won't be back because of my food preferences. I tried to stop by for a late lunch earlier in the week, but the sign said they were only open until they ran out of food. So, I came back earlier on another day. I ended up ordering their Pesto Chicken sandwich (no tomato) and a corndog (no relish). They prepare the food right there for you, it is really fresh. The Corndog was actually dipped in the batter and fried!! They serve it with some strange-to-me relish and don't carry ketchup. That's OK I was bringing it home and I have ketchup. It was good, the batter was nice and crispy on the outside but soft next to the hotdog. It definitely tasted different from corndogs I am used to but it was good. If I was there with other people I would order this, it might even be good without ketchup!! I loved the fresh made foccacia bread, nice and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The sandwich held together until the end. The sandwich had chicken bits in the middle of pesto and dressed greens. It was a bit messy to eat and if you order this I would recommend checking your teeth in a mirror afterwards!! The green bits kept falling out of the sandwich, and there were lots of tough stems in the dressed greens that I kept having to pick out. I am not sure how their pesto is made but I didn't like it much. Perhaps I only like cooked pesto, like on pasta or pizza? This pesto was fresh and had a crisp taste. I took a star away because even though I ordered no tomato and no relish, both were included in my order. I hate to waste food, the tomatoes were lovely and I am sure someone would have enjoyed them and the relish. I hope they do well, they are in a great spot on Main Street. They have lots of outdoor tables and even a little riser where, perhaps, they could have live music. Their menu will change often, so perhaps I will try them again if they have different offerings. Service was super friendly, ambiance was pretty much a neighborhood community lunch spot. But I came to try one thing: the smashburger. I STRONGLY dislike smashburgers; I think they're almost always too dry and just taste kind of like cardboard no matter what you dress them with. But I read other reviews and decided to give it a try and oh my god, it was the best smashburger I've ever had bar none. The meat was cooked to medium-slightly pink which is insanely hard to get right for a smashburger which is so thin. The lettuce was julienned rather than in leaves, which gave it a great texture. The sauce was a good thousand island-based burger sauce, and the cheese (I substituted cheddar) was griddled to perfection and had crispy bits coming off the sides of the patty. The bun was a lovely soft burger bun. The size of the burger was just right: not too monstrous but plenty filling enough. I live in Los Angeles, and when I drive up the coast I WILL be stopping here every time. read more
