We saw this cafe while driving through Los Osos and stopped for a late lunch. Nice patio! We were welcomed and seated outside on their patio. Garden plants in bloom welcomed us wholeheartedly, along with happy birds and bees. Service was friendly and efficient. My husband had a turkey club with an upsell of onion rings. His sandwich was delicious. Fresh crisp lettuce and veggies, thick slabs of bacon, and turkey. The bread was thick and seemed homemade. Onion rings came out nice and hot. My husband loved all of the sauces. I ordered the Brassica Crunch salad. Every ingredient was fresh and well prepared. It was nice to find a salad that was not from the regular salad templates that are on every menu. Loved the crunchies on it, mixed greens, broccoli, and cauliflower. The dollop of chevre in the middle was great for spreading on the cheese toast that accompanied the salad. Every bit about our meal at Celias' Garden Cafe was rewarding. So much heart there. What an improvement! We live in Los Osos and hadn't been going here as it used to be a bastion of mediocrity with silly prices. With the new ownership the food has gotten a much-needed overhaul. The menu still has some of the old favorites (like blintzes). The dishes we ordered today were a huge improvement. The Simple Greens salad $10 (add chicken $4) was a fresh and plentiful mix of salad greens, carrot, cucumber, and ripe grape tomatoes. The chicken was sliced, grilled skinless chicken breast that could use more flavor and a little less grill time. The herb vinaigrette was delicious and very cilantro-forward. Garlicky cheese toast was yummy. The corned beef hash ($18) was the star! A bit non traditional - in an awesome way- it was pulled corned beef that was perfectly seasoned and juicy, mixed with roasted, chopped new potatoes and onions. Eggs over medium were fresh and well cooked. The sourdough English muffin was also a star, made in a local SLO bakery. Great drip coffee ($3.65 with refills) from SLO Roasted in Los Osos. Server service was the basics and our busser was a champion. Garden looked well kept and saw they are doing an arts & music event there on Friday and Saturday evenings. Way to go, new owners! Great little place! We stopped in for lunch and were immediately greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We chose the outside garden and very quickly had iced teas and menus in hand. Breakfast options look amazing, but the tuna melt and carnitas melt caught our eyes. I opted for a side salad and herb vinaigrette dressing with my tuna melt. The whole wheat bread was perfectly toasted, nice and thick sliced. The salad took up a full half of the plate and the dressing was a nice touch of herbs. Oh! They add snow peas to the salad! Such a nice taste surprise. The carnitas melt had nice big pieces of meat and avocado slices. Again, on thick cut bread perfectly toasted. The fries are tasty and plentiful, taking up half the plate. Stopped by Celia's Garden Café for breakfast during our weekend trip and it was a nice, low-key local spot to start the day. I have eaten at Celia's on and off for several years and the food is comforting and tasty. There is indoor or outdoor seating and the patio is dog friendly. On this recent visit for breakfast, we were seated at a comfy little table by a side door during the breakfast. I'm not certain if this was the reason, but our service was not as attentive as it could have been. Our are server was friendly, but I had to get up and go to the front counter to request items several times. We ordered the waffle and corned beef hash and eggs. Both were very good. The waffle was served with fresh berries and the corned beef hash was their own creation. All in all, Celia's is a cute little spot with good food. It's worth a stop. read more

Celia's has changed ownership. Their staff is always friendly and the pleasant atmosphere remains. The menu has changed and has been diminished a bit. For example, there were seven Benedict selections, and now just four; soda is served by the can, so no refills. The portions seemed to have been downsized as well, as today's our Crab Cake Benedict were smaller than before, along with a minute amount of Hollandaise sauce. Cottage cheese was chosen in lieu of potatoes for fewer carbs. I received an extremely small amount in a small ramekin cup. Although we were seated promptly as usual, it took some time to receive menus and to order. I don't usually go out of my way to write reviews, but this was genuinely the worst service I've ever experienced. To start, my spanish speaking friend overheard a busboy calling us ugly and saying insults about us. On top of that, it took around an hour and fifteen minutes for our food to arrive. Also my food specifically came out 10 minutes later than everyone else and they basically finished their food before mine came out. Our server rarely checked on us, and when we asked the busgirl about the delay, she responded rudely, said she would check, and then never followed up. We watched her not even attempt to do so. When the food finally came, my friend found huge eggshell chunks in her meal. While they did comp her dish, the only additional gesture was removing our coffees from the bill, which didn't feel like enough. read more

If I can, I go to breakfast at Celia's after I get a hair cut. I love their breakfast, coffee and the best wheat toast. Today, as usual I had a scramble with chicken sausage, mushrooms and snow peas, a great combination. My husband had the chili verde and potatoes. Usually I share the potatoes but I ate everything and was too full. I opted for fruit instead of potatoes. Coffee is great and they have raw sugar, which I prefer. The servers are nice and friendly, some have been there for quite a few years. They had some great looking cookies, maybe next time, I'll get a couple. Sometimes when it's crowded you have to park on the street. They have a nice patio for eating, both front and back as well as inside. Bathrooms are outside and there are two of them. read more

We have been coming to Celia's for many years. Sad to say, the quality has been going downhill since Celia sold. Breakfast today: the service was VERY SLOW! Past service has always been good. A hearty lunch spot on the patio! My friends favorite dish is the tuna melt, which arrives on delicious fresh marbled rye (with the perfect hint of caraway), caramelized onions, and moist tuna salad. I had a hard time choosing from the extensive menu (sweet or savory?) when I spotted a "lighter fare" menu that offered a half portion of the French toast with two slices of bacon. The "half portion" mean two thick slices cut into four triangles which was plenty of food, along with the protein bacon. Have driven by this restaurant forever, finally decided it was time to try it out. Ordered a cheeseburger and subbed romaine instead of spring mix. Would have ordered a side salad but they only had spring mix option. Came with fries. Sodas only came in cans, so opted for water to drink. Burger nice and medium rare, yummy. Fries, however, were too seasoned and peppery and soft. The water was in a tiny glass and they were so slow to refill. I finally had to get up and fill my own water!! They only gave me one napkin until I took a couple more on my own. I noticed that they hadn't tidied up the creamer bowl, still trash from previous guest. I chose to sit on the LOVR garden because it was too sunny in the back garden. Lovely setting, though. The server never came back until she gave me the bill. The venue has a remodeled barn style with red wood making the structure stand out on a bustling main road. It was fairly busy in the café with glorious weather the summer day we dined there and thus the patio was full and we were seated inside. The menu had typical breakfast fan fare and reads more like an upscale diner. I ordered a mimosa with one of their Benedict's and my comrade got the pancakes. . The plates were rich and the portions large enough for two sittings. Hands-down, some of the best café/diner food that I've had the pleasure to eat. I can tell this place is very popular among locals and regulars alike. Definitely food-coma inducing dishes. . First of all, I admit I didn't get the waitperson's names. Two stars because the young man who greeted us was very attentive and polite. Got us menus and OJ right away and tried to help us when the order was wrong. Otherwise, we requested well done on potatoes and each had Benedicts. When we got them, the potatoes were pale and cold and the eggs were overcooked. We asked for the order to be fixed and the waitress was quick to blame the cook. She brought us the replacements and my husband's was fine, they were both hot, but my egg was raw inside! No more complaints but done eating there. Los Osos is so short on restaurants, I wish Celia's was better. The food's only fair, it's understaffed and the waitstaff in general lacks talent. read more

Easy parking, quick seating, instant drink order, quick order taken by pleasant and efficient staff, and quick kitchen turned out food that was tasty, fresh, prepared as asked. This is classic American breakfast well executed. But what's even more exciting is what they have planned for the surrounding, formerly unused space. Outdoor picnic style seating, day time hang out spaces, and hopefully drinks, live music, and evening activities soon. I get the feeling this restaurant was so much better before it was sold... unfortunately. There's no home made apricot jam, they use to have. I wanted a rueben sandwich but as a vegetarian I just couldn't order one,, but the waiter said thy could substitute a veggie patty for the pastrami. Don't say that won't work. Went for the first time. Ordered the Corned beef hash and eggs. Toast was burnt. They tried to remedy it with better toast that was just bread and not toasted at all.Guess they were afraid to burn it again. Corned beef was long and stringy with large chunks of stringy onions that looked like worms as they were not chooped. Just about the only breakfast place in town so we visited twice. Indoor and outdoor seating and it looks like they have an outside area for beer gardens. The food is pretty good and standard American breakfast menu. With tax and tip it's almost $20 a person for one food item. Considering this part of town is more suburb with less food options, we were glad Celia was at least pretty good. The New York steak was my favorite. The Benedict wasn't that good. The coffee is brewed fresh hourly and the waitstaff are wonderful. My favorite is the breakfast burrito with their signature homemade salsa. My first time visiting this cute little café in Los Osos. My friend had been there before and decide to turn me onto it. It has a beautiful outdoor patio that is dog friendly, but there are some dog rules, see the picture below. We decided to share a chicken fried steak and eggs along with a Belgian waffle. My friend said the Belgian waffle was the best she ever had! They serve toast with a homemade apricot jelly, which was super delicious. The chicken fried steak was crispy and have the perfect amount of gravy. The gravy was not too thick and not too thin. The scrambled eggs were actually the best I've ever had light fluffy and just very tasty. When in Los Osos check out this cute little gem. They serve alcohol as well! read more
