Pink and boozy and cool oh my! Had a great first experience at Baby's tonight and I can't wait to hang in their outdoor space when it's warm out. First things first they have a great covid protocol in place. Tables are spaced out, masks are a must and they even take your temperature upon arrival. The outdoor patio has been converted with tables and heaters to create more space! I created my own burger tonight and it was a hit! If you aren't a CYO type there's plenty of sandwiches, Mac and cheese and salads you can pick from. Tonight I had the veggie patty with a side of onion rings. My significant other also did a CYO with French fries. The food was so good and reasonably priced. While you may come here for the food it's even better for drinks. This environment is definitely picturesque and sooo trendy and cute. This was a great meal! My wife and I brought our niece and she was so excited to come back as she had been here before. She got the single smash burger and fries and it was perfect size for her to eat it in two meals. My wife and I tend to each get something and split it so we can try two items. We decided on the Swiss this way burger and added bacon to it and then the buffao chicken sandwich. They both were great! The Buffalo sauce was spicy but not too spicy and the sauce, cheese and bun just melded together and it was scrumptious. The burger had great flavor too and it was not overly greasy. Unfortunately, otherwise, we were pretty disappointed. The chicken tenders were clearly frozen, out of bag, and the fries were just ok. My daughter's fried chicken sandwich looked overcooked and she did not eat it. Mac n cheese was ok. My wife had boneless buffalo wings, they were on par with BW3, sadly. Stopped by twice this week that's how yummy these shakes are. The best part of it all is that they have their own parking lot (free) which is so convenient and such a relief considering parking downtown can sometimes be a tricky! As soon as you walk in the host will take your temperature and take you to a table! They do have outdoor seating and it's heated which works perfect with this chilly weather! Highly recommended by my Chiropractor who is plant based most of the time. This place must be amaze balls. I showed up with high expectations, Baby's did not disappoint. The Smash Burger is thicker than I anticipated, winning!! The burger was flavorful, tender, and juicy. I love that they have multiple cheese options, not everyone likes American Cheese. I appreciated the choice of bun too, it withstood the weight of the patties and moisture from the meat and condiments. I also had Talbots Street Fries..they made me happy dance. The fries were crispy on the outside and creamy inside..that's how all fries should be IMO. The addition of bacon, cheese, and pickled jalapeños are a great addition. I did have the white BBQ on the side, it was interesting. I also enjoyed the outdoor interactive art installment. With the pandemic going on it was nice to enjoy being outside and enjoy tasty food. They're just the right size so you still have room for your meal, but if that's all you're getting I'd definitely order 2! We had the single burger and Mac n cheese. Both really tasty! Great portion sizes and the Mac n cheese had really good flavor! We sat outside on the patio, there's a curtain hanging on the west side to protect you from the wind. What's a birthday without a drag brunch?! We brought in my little sister's birthday with a lot fun. Baby's hosts a drag brunch on the second Sunday of each month and it's a lot of fun. Tickets are $5 and sell out very fast. When we first arrived we were seated at a huge table to accommodate our large party. The space is so pretty. We started with a few cocktails and mimosas before the show starts. During the drag brunch there's a preselected menu. Baby's is such a fun atmosphere. The decor is so bright and the draft cocktails have clever names such as Bye Felicia and Dat Booty Tho. I tried the Festivus cocktail, which was super refreshing. We stopped in around 5:30 on a Wednesday evening and sat on the covered patio. To our surprise, the restaurant quickly filled up and since there is little noise dampening on the covered patio, it got VERY loud. This is a family-friendly restaurant so be prepared for kids who may be unaware they're not using their "indoor voices". We started with the vegan mushrooms with ranch dressing on the side. These were a disappointment - some were ice cold in the middle and some of the breading was not thoroughly cooked. Our server was slammed, and I imagine the kitchen was too, so we only ate the smaller shrooms which we found were hot and cooked all the way through. For my entrée I ordered the Bam! Burger with an Impossible patty and fries. These were both winners. The bun and burger complemented each other perfectly, and the cheeses and Bam! sauce tied it all together. I would recommend getting a side of one of Baby's sauces if you order fries instead of boring ol' ketchup. The white BBQ sauce is a creamy horseradish pepper sauce and was great with my fries. I would definitely come back to Baby's, but would opt to sit inside the main dining room next time (or at the VERY adorable bar). read more

So Monday cravi go checked in today in the form of a smash burger and u haven't tried Babys yet so its what the hell monday let's give it a whirl...Lunch is ordered at the counter with no menus(thank you) just QR codes on tables...if you don't know how to use them learn.... Stopped into Baby's a few weeks back to simply get a dessert - aka a boozy milkshake. I hadn't even seen Baby's at this point - so as we drove down 22nd street and turned down on Talbott I was taken aback. During the night - the view of the restaurant was just so cute. It looks like an old-school diner you would see in the 50s. I was immediately drawn to the outdoor patio space and cannot wait to get back to enjoy that. We sat at the bar and had a very friendly bartender. She explained to us how the milkshakes worked and how we could order different liquors than recipes called for but explained this tended to just end up tasting very boozy. I kept it simple and stuck with the dairy free option they had available (they change!) which was French Vanilla and got the Hazelnut flavor which was cognac and liqueur added in. Attended the 10am drag brunch and all I have to say is very disappointing. I've been wanting to try this place for a WHILE and all the hype leading up to it had me very excited. However, we were sat in the corner and had a hard time viewing the queens most of the performance, the food and drinks were mediocre at best which was really sad, and I know it was 10am but the queens seemed to be just walking around and collecting money without even TRYING to put on a show. Some of the queens did really well, others not so much, and those that were simply walking around would come by our table expecting us to tip them. I don't understand! The most disappointing part was the bill we got at the end. For what we were given, we should have just ate at home. Living in Herron Morton, Baby's was easily one of the best things to come to the neighborhood while I lived there. Honestly, such a bummer that I moved away from the delicious broasted chicken. As someone that cooks often and strives for healthy meals... Baby's chicken just can't be beaten. I am also a sucker for their strut burger. Definitely a calorie splurge but it is worth every bite. Before Covid, I also loved to bring guests there because the atmosphere is so fun! The bartenders are (were?) really great at helping you pick out drinks- they have seasonal options so you can always try something new. Looking forward to going in when this is all over. I had heard lots of great things about Baby's so decided to give it a try this weekend and it did not disappoint! It's very much a modern day diner, with a bright neon sign, booths and a gorgeous bar top. Upon entering, the staff were incredibly friendly. Since we were newbies, they were very informative of their concept, favorites, etc. I immediately noticed their patio, which is covered with heaters for the winter, and cannot wait to go back in the warmer months. The menu really offers something for everyone, with burgers, chicken, and veggie options. There are lots of alcohol options as well, from seasonal cocktails to boozy milkshakes. Baby's is bumpin'! With a mini outdoor playground for kids in the front, a neon pink sign in the window, and a big patio with heat lamps, you'll be sure to notice it if you're driving by. This restaurant was highly-anticipated for two big reasons: the owners were the same ones who opened the swanky Ball & Biscuit bar on Mass Ave. It's also in an area of town that's starting to become developed and get more attention for incredible, local businesses. Love it! I was immediately impressed by how friendly both our hostess and server were. They knew their stuff, had smiles on their faces and were incredibly helpful. Bonus points! The interior was gorgeous too. With sparkly pink seats, neon signs and an old-fashioned-diner atmosphere, we felt good just being there. I ordered a single smashburger with lettuce, onion and tomato, and a side of fries. I also got the white BBQ sauce for the fries and that was the star of the show!! The burger was pretty good (next time I want to try the double smashburger for more meat) and while thicker fries are more my jam, they were great to dip into our yummy chocolate milkshake. Prior to dinner, my dinner mate asked, "Where's your favorite veggie burger in town?" My response was a local, popular burger joint. Now, Baby's has taken the spot. First off, their designers did an amazing job at taking this place from dingy, dark, gross nightclub to dainty, pink, and Instagram-worthy restaurant. It's retro with modern touches - very fun. The staff are all very, very friendly as well. I hadn't been in before, and they were very informative (without being overwhelming) about suggestions, what their known for, their favorites, etc. I opted for the BYO veggie burger. The veggie burger is made from black beans and sweet potatoes. You get a nice touch of smokiness, which really ups the flavor, making it my new fave veggie patty in the city. (PS - chefs - if you're a local restaurant and you're still using Impossible Burgers or another frozen plant-based veggie patty - c'mon, you need to up your game.) Along with the burger, we got a chocolate milkshake to split and an order of fries to split with a delicious dipping sauce. The food was all spectacular. That being said, my thrifty side will say that it's easy to spend $20+ a person at this joint as everything is a la carte and we didn't even order boozy shakes. It was a perfect, sunny, fall day so I decided to check out Baby's patio. Baby's is located on the corner of Talbott and 22nd Street with the entrance on Talbott. Street parking is available along with two empty lots directly across from the entrance. I've been avoiding downtown because of parking but no current parking issues here. The interior is adorable decorated in pinks, cute accessories, a large mural, a large Baby's neon light behind the bar with several tables, banquette booths and bar or patio seating. I sat on the shaded patio which I found very comfortable with tables thoughtfully laid out and it doesn't feel cramped and congested. The patio drapes blowing over my table made for several laughable moments though. The menu is fairly simple with Smash Burgers as their speciality but you'll find options from a veggie burger, grilled or broasted chicken, a salad and sides. Alcohol wise there is beer (ONLY in cans and bottles), wine, shots and several types of signature cocktails with cute names. The owner created the recipes for the Cocktails on Draft and there's a full bar with oodles of spirits. Again, no beer on draft since cocktails are on draft. What's fun and different are the boozy milkshakes offered with strawberry, chocolate or their seasonal flavor. I ordered one of the Cocktails on Draft, For The Gods, made with 3 types of rum, dry curacao, orgeat, and lime plus it's not overly sweet. If you enjoy rum you'll most likely enjoy this drink. Smash burgers run from a single to triple ($8-$14) or add even yet another patty for additional $3 and all served on a vegan bun. I love toppings and sauces and Baby's has some of my favorites. Most toppings are free except for mango chutney, sauteed mushrooms (.50 extra) and bacon ($1) on any sandwich. Add as many or few toppings and sauces as you prefer from the list. Other menu options is the Broasted Chicken (whole 8 pieces, half 4 pieces or 2 piece cutlets) or a large salad with or without protein. The tender, marinated grilled chicken sandwich was amazing topped with a generous amount of phenomenal carmelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, smoked gouda cheese and pickled jalapenos. So messy but I loved the layer of sweet and savory flavors. I was curious about the white bbq sauce so I ordered on the side for my sandwich. The sauce was so tasty I ended up using as a dipping sauce for my fries. The white bbq sauce is a horseradish base and very flavorful. The fries are similar to McDonalds, lightly crispy, seasoned only with salt and pepper and hot and fresh. There's an option to glitz up the fries with bacon, cheese sauce, white BBQ sauce and jalapenos for just an extra $2. Maybe next time. Sides are ala carte at $4 with fries, mac & cheese, sriracha broccoli slaw, veggies, side salad and corn bread. The little 4 1/2 yr old girl sitting at the next table gave the mac and cheese high praise while her little sister quietly tore into the naked chicken tenders. This is a family friendly restaurant with a kids menu available and changing tables in the cute, gender neutral, large restrooms with roller doors. Checkout the fun wallpaper. My server, Camyrn I think?, was also the bartender who took excellent care of me. She explained the menu, many drinks, the boozy milkshakes and several suggestions thoroughly.
