I went for the 1st time and had the crab curry which is very rich and the small is a generous amount it is $30 so dont waste any. You can also order French bread or rice for $3 (7/26) or eat as is. I got the rich which was great. I just warmed up the left over and combined it it with fresh made linguine. I have enough left overs for another meal. Its very good.just part of the menu, they actually have a lot to choose from i thought i took a picture of my crab curry .. darn. They do use real crab just fyi

There's a ton of parking in the back, just found out about that. Bac Nam I new to me, noticed a the reviews were good and wanted to try it out. The pho was clean and I was impressed with the spring rolls. The Hue beef noodles were pretty mediocre, and it doesn't come with the side vegetables like what I'm use to for a bun bo hue, don't get recommend that. When compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants, this place is also lacking in the spicy sauce. They have the basic sriracha and hoisin.. the uncle was serving, seems like the boss there. He was chill. Overall not bad, would go back for the pho and spring rolls again

Appetizer #09 (Chicken Wrap with French bread and sauce) -- fresh, tasty, and paired perfectly with the sauce.

Errands + Bac Nam = perfect combo. It had been awhile since I've been to Bac Nam Restaurant, but I stopped in for takeout while running errands -- and it absolutely hit the craving. What I ordered: House Special Curry #53 - Crabmeat Curry w/ French Bread Rich, savory, comforting, and full of flavor. The French bread was perfect for dipping. So yummers. Appetizer #09 - Chicken Wrap w/ French Bread & Sauce Fresh, tasty, and paired perfectly with the sauce. Light but satisfying. Vietnamese Iced Coffee That smooth, sweet zing you need to power through your work day. Everything was packaged well for takeout. The service is awesome, the staff is great, and you can really feel the culture and warmth when you walk in. The restaurant is always clean and cool inside. Bonus -- I scored front meter parking, and there's also a lot in the back, which makes it super convenient. So good. Definitely won't wait so long to come back next time.

Perfect day for some soup. Seafood egg noodles and Crab noodle soup.

Sometimes you take things for granted. I take this place for granted, and this review is long overdue. It's one of our favorite go-to restaurants. We come often and are never disappointed. I don't have a Vietnamese grandmother but if I did I imagine this is what eating in her home would feel like--cozy and comforting. I imagine that the food from her kitchen would taste like this--full of flavor and love. It's a family-run, small business and the owner always greets us with a warm smile and nod of recognition. He must have lots of regulars because I notice he offers this greeting to many of the clientele. Like us, they don't really need a menu because they come knowing what they want. My husband always gets the Bun Rieu, crab noodle soup. He has a conversation with the owner every time saying he was thinking of trying something else but can't pass up the Bun Rieu. The owner teases him that he knows his order! Such wonderful connection with customers. I'm no better but at least I differ between two dishes, the seafood egg noodle soup and the Bun with lemongrass tofu. It just depends on my mood and the weather outside. Neither disappoints me. Service is not just courteous but fast. We often eat here between errands and appointments or when we're very 'hangry' because we know we'll be served quickly. It's a place we can count on for taste and timing. Try them out. You'll start counting on them too...parking is in a lot in the back or on the street. They have a side room for larger parties. We haven't used it yet but I've seen larger groups in there. So if you're running around town and just want a place to get some great food fast or you want to come with a gang for a good time, stop by Bac Nam. It's like stopping by grandma's house in all the best ways...

    Delicious trotter.

This was my third stop of my Bun Bo Hue challenge. And it's another excellent meal. Here, it's simple. It's mostly pig trotter. The broth was rich in beef flavor. Piping hot. The service was very quick. The food came out quick too. This is the OG of Vietnamese food restaurant. I don't remember when it wasn't here. It's a little small, but it was never too busy where I didn't have a table right away. I've had the pho here too and it's as good as any other's.

    Steamed Dumplings
    Shane A.

Stopped here purely on Yelp ratings to try out their pho. Started off with the Steamed Dumplings...wow. So much flavor packed into those small dumplings. The outside was chewy and went well with the stuffing and the toppings. The pho broth was one of the best we've tried (and we've tried tons from the west side to the east side). Soup was piping hot with tons of flavor. Service was excellent and the food came out fast. This will be our new number one stop for pho!

    Small crab curry
    Rand E.

A local Vietnamese family run spot that's great for lunch. A hint, there's a small parking lot behind the restaurant. The most favorite dish was the crab curry! A small was good enough for 4 people. Served with either rice or bread (choose rice, since it's best to soak up the sauce). Shared the summer rolls and a green papaya salad. The summer rolls were served with a nice peanut sauce and the papaya salad a fish sauce. The papaya salad was a bit bland, hence the 4 stars.

Plenty of seating available, decently priced and great portions! Got their pho twice in a row. I never usually drink all my broth, but this broth tastes like it's been simmering for hours! Street parking up front or a small lot in the back. Restaurant accepts card.

    Lemon Beef Salad
    Dan T.

First visit and was delighted. Summer roll was fresh with correct fillings and a savory sauce. Steamed dumplings (Banh bot loc) was cooked perfectly with a crunchy bottom and topped with herb and fried onions and dipping sauce. Banh xeo was crisp with a crunch, savory filling and served with a generous portion of vegetables. Lemon beef salad, hot seasoned cubes of beef on a bed of salad with pleasant lemon dressing. Two color tapioca was refreshing. Everything was scrumptious and authentic. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance was comfortable and cozy. Will be back to try everything on the menu. One of the best Vietnamese food on the island!!!

So the thing about coming to Fun Station is the "suspended flying noodle thingy" which I didn't go for, but if you like Instagramable stuffs, then I supposed you would probably go for that flying-noodle dish. As for me, I mainly came to try their Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, and as a bonus......... I actually got a 20% discount thanks to my friend - Jennifer C. who let a Bruddah know about da DEALAGES in da Sunday food section newspaper, as they had a coupon! The Sunday morning when I came with my friend, I can clearly see that this restaurant was thriving, as every table in the restaurant was taken. Fun Station specializes in noodles, but if you're not into that, they do serve other items like - soups, vegetable dishes, rice plates, & porridge (jook). Upon looking over the menu, we ordered the following items - 1. Frrrrrrried Chicken Wings ($9.95) for an appetizer 2. Minute Chicken Cake Noodles ($17.95 - minus da 20% coupon DEALAGES) 3. Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton in soup ($18.95) What can I say about da grub??? Da chicken wings came out hot & crispy. Although they featured only "flats" vs. drums (I like drums), I must say da wings was nicely executed. As for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles.........nicely plated on a fancy smanshy panda plate. The cake noodles weren't drowning in gravy, so the noodles stayed crispy on the dish. I really liked how they did this dish, and would easily come back here to eat it again. My friend had the Beef Brisket Tendon & Won Ton soup. The dish looked good, and there weren't any complaints, so I take it that it was pretty ono! Overall, a very satisfying meal and the service here was on point, as the staff was friendly & very efficient. Easy 5 stars for the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles! Chance 'em!

It's tucked…read moreinto a small strip mall, the dining room is no frills and if someone told me it was just another average neighborhood Chinese restaurant, I'd probably believe them. Then the food starts arriving. We ordered way more than we needed and almost everything impressed me. The chow fun was cooked exactly the way I like it. Chewy, smoky and never overcooked. My only complaint was that it leaned a little saltier than I prefer, but it was still very good. The Hainan chicken was the surprise of the meal. Perfectly tender with an incredible ginger sauce that I'd happily put on just about anything. Even the dishes I normally avoid won me over. I've never been much of a lotus root person, but theirs was crisp, savory and honestly delicious. The wontons were another highlight. Since we skipped the noodles, they generously gave us extra wontons instead, which was a really thoughtful touch. What really pushed this place from good to memorable, though, was the staff. We were there with our two and four year old and they couldn't have been kinder. They brought over little toys to keep the kids occupied, checked on us throughout the meal and made us feel genuinely welcome. None of it felt forced. It was just warm, thoughtful hospitality and that's something I always remember long after I've forgotten exactly what I ate. The bathroom situation isn't ideal, you have to use the one outside the restaurant, but that's really my only complaint beyond the slightly salty chow fun. This isn't the place I'd recommend for date night or a long evening out. It's the kind of neighborhood restaurant you walk into expecting very little, then leave thinking, that was a lot better than it had any right to be. We'll definitely be back.

There was a couple in front of us who said they come here every time they visit Hawaiʻi and that it's a must-do stop on every trip. When you walk in, it's a small place. You can watch a team member washing the noodles and portioning them into bowls right in front of you. Then you choose your bowl size, small or large, and select your broth. After that, you get to choose from a variety of fried items and other à la carte options displayed on a warmer. Seating can be limited because of how busy this place gets. You line up to get your food, pay for it, grab your condiments, utensils, and a cup of water, then find a seat and enjoy. I've already been here twice, and after writing about my experience, I need to make a third visit happen very soon! There are not enough days off in a week to enjoy all of the amazing food on this island, but I'm going to do my best to experience as many places as I can. This place is totally worth the 45-minute commute from Wahiawa.

I finally decided why not and came with a friend on new years day lunch time. They were pretty busy already after just 30ish minutes of opening (12pm). Service: We were seated immediately and the service method is pretty simple, you scan the QR code and order through there. My main gripe with this service method is the waitresses aren't as attentive, we couldn't really ask any questions prior to ordering and even after ordering, I had to stand up to the front and wave someone down to pay for our order (as they had a special they had to apply before we paid). We ordered: - Spicy Beef Pancake: 10/10, didn't expect to like this so much as well. Not that spicy to be honest. More like a light spicy flavor. The beef inside was also juicy. - Pan-fried pork bun: 10/10, I was honestly looking forward to this more than the XLB and I was correct to do so. The filling was juicy like a XLB but the dough was also fluffy, doughy, AND has a crispy bottom. Would come back just for this and recommend this 10 times over!! - Sui Mai: 8.8/10; this was like any other good sui mai you may get at different dimsum places. Just pork though, no mushroom or seafood chucks like some other spots. - Steamed Beef with Sticky Rice: 8.1/10. This wasn't bad by any means but just didn't compare to the rest of the items. I didn't like how some parts were super fatty. - Xiao Long Bao: 10/10, the wrapped is thin but thick enough for me to pick up the dumpling without it popping. The soup was flavorful and so was the pork within. They had a special going on which made our XLB be like $5 instead of the $14 it usually is. We were super surprised of how little our bill was give that we were stuffed at the end of the meal and had some leftovers. Even without the discount it would've been a great deal. I heavily recommend, especially the pan-fried pork bun and XLB!!

When we went, the menu focused on udon: +Hot Yamakake Udon with Quail Egg (a special) +Cold Yamakake Udon (a special) +Hot Udon +Cold Udon The special udon dishes are servied with tororo (grated mountain yam), housemade tsukudani (seaweed braised in a sweet Japanese sauce), crispy nori, green onions, and an option to add wasabi. We went for both the hot and cold udon specials - I think it was a consensus that we would have liked to have more noodles in the dish. This is definitely a sweeter dish, with the tororo and the tsukudani. The place already had a long line, and the best way to enjoy would be to dine-in. Note that if you do order a carry-out, the quail egg would not be included. +ordering online is available +changing menu of noodle dishes +popup at Fishcake

Ambiance: casual Food: a great place to satisfy Szechuan cravings. Would recommend getting their spicy dumplings (so good). Also tried their sweet potato noodles and it was like a more chewy rice noodle. Would also recommend getting their mung bean drink (with free refills) that goes well with their spicy dishes.

Service was excellent. The nice lady checked in on us several times and provided extra napkins and refills. Ambiance: cozy. As with their sister restaurants, scan the qr code and order away. I really liked the variety and being able to order sides or small dishes. The mung bean soup is delicious and served chilled. They do give free refills. This was my first time trying it, and 10/10 would order again. Mini hot and sour wonton: first time trying and won't be my last. 10/10 Beef pancakes were good, slightly different from Mian and Bao, and delicious. Ice Jelly: good cooling dessert. Not too sweet. Perfect finisher for all the spicy food. Pickled sides: I really loved the spicy back fungus. I'm a huge sucker for woodear mushroom so I was also glad I could order a side of it just to toss into my soup! So good! Everything was really good, and I can't wait to try something new as we make our way through their menu.
