Actually I love Bacari HH!! This location was actually the best experience I've had so far!! We went to celebrate a birthday and they had some champagne brought out for us which was so cute and special!! There was also warm dessert too which I think went above and beyond!! We sat underneath the tent and it was perfect at 5:15pm for the $2 off food and drinks! Very cute ambiance overall as there are lights and heaters too. Chicken schnitzel, mushroom pizza, steak, and burrata are some of my favorites!

This was my second visit in a few years. Just so happened to be in the same area, so decided to run it back based on distant but fond memories. I really like the staff- unique group with good energy. The plates were nice, too. Good plating; good flavors. We got many: ceviche, falafel, bass, fries, steak and cake. Bests: bass and date cake. Not bests: ceviche and steak. Would recommend if you're in town. Two word review: Date Cake

Brunch vibes in Playa Del Rey. Went for a Sunday brunch - parking is a bit tough - street parking if you can find it. It was pretty packed - had an rsvp but still needed to wait another 10 minutes or so. Was eventually sat in the patio area - big issue we had was we were alongside the wall near the big street and there's no sun cover there. We were absolutely destroyed in the heat within the first 15 minutes. Not only was the sun bearing down, the glass railing felt like a magnifying glass. Ordered a few things: chilaquiles, cauliflower, shakshuka, French toast, and the beef bureka. Opted with just water as drinking any alcohol in the sun would have drained us a bit more. The chilaqquiles weren't very saucy - definitely more of a regular tortilla chip with some flavoring vibe. The cauliflower was tasty - a little bit of a kick - but was oversauced, probably needed to be a little less heavy handed with it. The shakshuka was pretty good - the spices along with well made eggs and fresh tomatoes hit well. The French toast was probably my fav - wasn't too heavy, had the crunch and was moist. The fruits on top gave it a fresh feel too. Def would recommend. The beef bureka was spot on as well - this is ground beef pastry with cabbage inside. Was on the lighter side but still had good flavor. Lightness preferred over the burek I'd have in the Balkans that are also delicious, but weighs you down a bunch. There was an issue with the egg however, there was a bit of the shell left on it. Overall - the food is a 4 but I think they need to remove the seating along the far wall unless it's a cloudy day - someone's going to get a heat stroke.

I'm only in town for a week, but I want to come back tomorrow and try the whole menu! Food is served tapas style and brought out as prepared. ORDER THE SEABASS!!!! Matter of fact order 2! Crispy skin, flaky fish on a bed of tarragon aioli ! 10/5 Tripoline pasta: I'm not a high pasta girly. But the server kept saying it was his favorite when I would ask about others. So let's do it! 5/5. Not traditional flavor. The almond and cilantro with a tiny hint of spicy! Tuscan kale salad: 5/5 good! That's it that's all. Order it all! Heard another table telling another table they had to order the bread pudding. I was already busting out of my pants. Sooooo "Can I get it to go?" ...after getting back to my hotel, snuggled into bed to eat my dessert. I found a bowl of undercooked soggy white bread, not even a brioche, challah. This had to be made from wonder bread and regular milk not even condensed sweetened. Awful. Coziest patio with lots of heaters and smooth pop playing!

I finally got to try "The Best Cake" and it was fantastic, definitely the highlight of the night! The service was a little slow even though they weren't super busy, but the ambience is always nice, and the food was a little hit or miss (it really depends on what you order). The sea bass was good, but the Pear and Brie pizza was not very flavorful and pretty disappointing. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty, but they're a pretty small serving size. The dessert was the one truly great dish. Side note: parking can be tricky here, he usually you have to drive up the hill and park in the neighborhood and walk down a bit back to the restaurant.

Close by to the beach so you still can feel the fresh air and breeze but not close enough for any nice view, the bathroom was extremely tiny but whatever the food was greattt! Literally everything was good the Mac n cheese I wasn't the biggest fan of kinda flavorless and and the only flavor I could rlly taste is bread but service was amazing I love the area and yesss

This was my second time visiting Bacari in Playa Del Rey and I was once again blown away! The atmosphere in this place is outstanding, from the gas fire lamps and string lights, to the throwback songs playing over the speakers and unbelievably accommodating waitstaff that brought us complimentary champagne with floating rose petals. You can't find a better spot to eat walking distance from the beach here! For the most memorable experience, I recommend arriving just before sunset to enjoy both the golden hour glow and the night time lighting in this outdoor space. Dishes are best split between a group of people so you can enjoy multiple items since they serve a more tapas style instead of a full meal per plate. We ordered the crudo to start, which was a significant amount of fish, thinly sliced and covered in a tart, lemon salsa that reminded me of the chunky texture of chimichurri, though not as oily. The thin slices of lemon on top added an extra pop of acidity with each bite that wasn't overpowering. We also enjoyed the crispy pork belly that was cooked in a savory, umami sauce until caramelized. The flavor went deep into the meat, so it was probably marinated for a long time as opposed to just tossed in a sauce at the end. It paired well with the large portion of mujadara lentil and basmati rice pilaf we ordered, though keep in mind this dish is extremely filling. The crispy shallots on top added a great contrast to the warm, creamy texture of the pilaf, and the lemon's bright flavor lightened the flavor palette despite the hardy ingredients. We even mixed some of the leftover pork belly sauce with the rice and it was delicious! For our veggie, we ordered the brussels sprouts, which were perfectly crispy all the way to the center, almost as if they were able to separate all of the layers for maximum crisp. The chipotle sauce on top was creamy and slightly spicy, but not overbearing. Sometimes restaurants make the mistake of drenching charred vegetables like this with too much sauce, but they nailed the proportions. Lastly for dessert we ordered the malabi, a rosewater custard with coconut, hibiscus, and pistachios. The custard wasn't overpowered by the floral flavor and the raw flakes were candied, so the coconut flavor really came out without needing to toast them. I also loved that the pistachios were whole instead of tiny pieces because it added a textural bite the dessert needed. My only note is that it would be even better if it had a wafer in it, whether a roll or pistachio wafers.

Came here for brunch. Food was good and tapas style so small portions. My friend and I ordered 4 dishes to share and it was enough. We did a double take on the French toast plate because it was only 1 toast. Service was good and love the outdoor patio. They are so dog friendly so there were a few doggies there.

Returned to Bacari PDR and had an amazing experience with my mom and sister. My sister and I both have dietary restrictions and they made it so easy to order and find things for everyone. My sister is gluten free and dairy free and I'm vegetarian. Our waitress, Selah L., had all the best recommendations and made sure all our dietary restrictions were taken care of. She had the best energy. We ordered a couple drinks (always good), plus my favorites - Bacari fries, brussies, and Asian pear and Brie pizza. My sister and mom also ordered a burger and scallops. It was their first time at this location and they were blown away by the food.

If I lived close, this would be my weekly bar and restaurant. The drink menu is expansive and the two drinks I had were really good. Gio the bartender is really nice and made me a drink from scratch using the earl-grey infused gin. I also had the Scarlett oddessey that was probably one of the best drinks I've had in LIFE. Also the food is delicious. I highly recommend the Asian pear and Brie pizza. It works so well together. We also got the sea bass which was good, the open faced burger, the bcn fries (which reminded me of curry chips in the UK) and the charred broccoli. We didn't have one bad bite but I would rank the pizza up there as the best and most tasty bite. Service was great too. Micah saw I had a long day and offered me some champagne immediately. So thoughtful! And our waitress Selah was really attentive. Overall a great experience.

Great restaurant and Sunday brunch experience at Bacari. The service was excellent, the outdoor patio atmosphere was amazing, and the tapas style food was tasty. There were four of us and we each got a couple of items and shared. And we really enjoyed all of it. Solid 4.5 stars

Good food but the staff is what sells them! They were so kind, so attentive, so engaging! And then one of them noticed we didn't touch much of one of the dishes and she took it off the bill. That was so kind?! Definitely try this place out but DEFINITELY meet the staff! The outdoor seating is also very cute!!

So, my thought was, since it had been years since we'd been here, if it's great, we Uber. No matter. Do that. Do you. We won't be back. When I walked in, with a reservation, another couple came in after me with no reservation. They were seated first. That was my first hint. The waiter, whom we will call Sunshine, came by a few times only to hear me say, 'still parking'. Once my husband arrived it took the waiter another 20 min to come back to take our order. We ordered a bottle of wine and 2 apps. Lovely. Garlic bread, addicting. Wine, very good. Then we ordered the entrees. I ordered the scampi Salerno and hubs ordered the veal piccata. Both dishes take maybe three minutes to cook. I'd have been upset if it came in 3 min. I'd have been happy if it came in 15. Get where I'm going? Every table got their food. Finally the food came, and the veal dish was wrong. At that point we told them to take it off the bill and we shared mediocre shrimp and a side of pasta with canned clams on top. We got a free tiramisu. One. Our reservation was for 6:30. We were early. We got out of there at 9. It took us 5 min to eat the entree. There is simply no excuse for this. None.

Parking was easy-ish for Venice standards, we parked in a $5 lot about a block away on the beach.

The place had such a lively, welcoming family vibe right from the start -- it felt warm and bustling in the best way. We started with the chopped salad to share and added an order of fried calamari. For our mains, we went with the Alejo's Shrimp al Diablo pasta, Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala, and the Pescatore. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous, and we especially loved the fresh, warm Italian bread -- honestly one of the best parts of the meal! The service was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and spot-on. We paired everything with a bottle of Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon, which was a perfect match.not too expensive All in all, Alejo's is a lively, family-friendly spot with great food and atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for readinggg

HBD to me... Been coming here for I can't even remember exactly how long, but I started working in El Segundo in 1980, so shortly after that. The garlic dipping oil is truly my draw because not only do I absolutely love garlic, it's the only place that makes it like this and SO DELICIOUS! Their calamari is on a level of it's own and again, never had any anywhere better! It's so fresh, not oily at all, super crunchy and delicious! Next (for me) is their Alejo's chopped salad, with their famous house dressing. After eating these, I never have room for an entree and been ordering these for years... This year they gave me a complimentary Tiramisu for my birthday and I have to say... it was the BEST I've ever had!! Now I need to add that to my meal every time! Thank you Jose for always the best service!

Food here over the years have evolved with some changes my wife and I wasn't too happy with after Cheesecake Factory bought them out. This last visit has reversed everything I didn't like about the changes and it literally has returned to its previous glory. Food was absolutely amazing this run! I came with my wife and mom (her first visit) and we ordered so much. Food: Braised Short Rib Marsala - The meat melts in your mouth. There's no way to describe how tender is and how easy it is to pull a piece away with your fork one handed. The polenta and mushrooms the ribs sit on have a super inviting taste. My wife doesn't like truffle sauces and that be the only thing I would switch out. Other than that the vegetables were still crispy but easy to chew. Perfect dish all around. Wild Shrimp Scampi is a must order for me. The shrimps are jumbo sized with a mix of flavors that's been improved since a few months ago. It's no longer swimming in grease and a joy to eat with the generous slices of toasted garlic bread. Burrata - Sweet vinaigrette, large chunks of fresh ripped tomatoes, crunchy toast and arugula is a 100% must order. The burrata cheese melts in your mouth. Ambiance - very lively and celebratory loud, this place is perfect for a fun date, a family gathering or even just to feel energize and enjoy an amazing atmosphere Service - Service at over the years have had hits and misses but the last 3 visits have been straight up amazing. Our latest server was with James again which was the server that first waited on us and made us feel welcome many years before pandemic years. He hasn't changed a bit and remains charismatic giving benchmark setting service. This was my mom's first visit and he really impressed her that she is now ok with us traveling 25 miles to eat here again lol. Managers and the host Friday night "Treya" not sure on spelling was awesome taking care of us. It's been a joy to see the menu improve by so much and all around service being so good again. Previous visits, Gunner and Wyatt (welcome back) are at the top of my short lists in best of the best in service. The staff here is why I spent 80% of my north Italia visits here. The other 20% at the Irvine location. Have yet to try the Torrance one. I remember many years ago a manager I believe "Lisa" turned us into regulars here forever. Looking forward to my next visit! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location. You won't be disappointed.

After checking Yelp, we noticed that there were a lot of available reservations for that night so I made it for 8:15pm. We arrived 10 min before our reservation time, checked in and the hostess mumbled something to me and just told me to wait, which I did for like 10min. I noticed that there were plenty of tables empty inside and decided to ask the hostess if my table is ready yet. Right away she realized it was ready and asked someone to walk me in. We walked up to a semi cleaned table that had clear leftover crumbs on it, which the hostess very quickly wiped it away with her hands.... We ignored all these issues and decided to enjoy dinner... as we sat there for 15 minutes waiting for a waiter, any waiter to come get us or even take our drink orders but no one came. My partner had to flag someone down and at the point we were already starving and ordered all the drinks, apps and entrees together. I got the pomegranate mule for drink. For food, we shared heirloom tomato burrata, black Mediterranean mussels, bolognese pasta and braised short rib marsala (we gotten the same entrees before at their other locations and they were some of our favs). Everything took forever to come out. We didn't eat until at least 45mjn i after ordering... * Heirloom tomato: basic, it was ok. Nothing to write home about * Black Mediterranean mussels: best dish of the night. Mussels were plump and juicy. Broth was very flavorful * bolognese pasta: lukewarm, tasted like it's been sitting out for awhile. portion size was smaller than other places. Some of the noodles were clumped together and undercooked * Braised Short Rib Marsala: it was sooo salty. The sweet peas were old and fibrous. I had to spit out. It was honest such a disappointing experience. I have loved all other North Italia locations I've dined at but this one was the worst. Service and kitchen is extremely slow. Kitchen looked overstaffed while front of the house looked unstaffed. Food is not up to par at all. I always take pictures of my food, but the food was so sad looking, I didn't bother.

Yes. Yes. Yes…read more Fantastic concept. Well executed. 4 different restaurant/food sections in one space. On the left: Dockside restaurant: Intimate restaurant for dinner and brunch on weekend. But while it is "intimate" and higher end pricing, it's very accessible ($20-40) and feels very laid back. Beach chic eating! On the right, there's a a visually more laid back lunch side, next to an ice cream/coffee section. A nice bar area connecting the two sides. I had brunch at Dockside. Fantastic! I had the crab and shrimp eggs Benedict. Creamy delicious sauce with generous but not overpowering crab and shrimp. My friend had the salmon salad and shared. It too was wonderful! Crisply lettuce leaves with a gentle, slightly sweet vinaigrette and salmon fillet grilled perfectly. Other than the waiter forgetting my coffee, service was good. I wasn't an issue, I was having a great time! Then we walked the beach - wonderful area without a lot of commercialization. More natural beach, no pier. Then returned for the ice cream and coffee. I was being greedy! Had a matcha affogato AND a large cinnamon roll. It was worth it!!! Top it all off, despite having lots of customers throughout the day, they managed to have clean, more upscale bathrooms. I have to love this place! I'm so glad my friend showed me this place. It's the perfect beachside chill restaurant. Easily accessible to the beach, with great food, sizable bar, and basically everything you could want while chilling on the weekend! Didn't take pics. Too busy enjoying myself.

I now completely understand why this place is always empty when I walk by…read more I had such a great experience during my first visit that I returned six days later. There was a male server there this time. I asked for the same thing I got last time - a bianca slice. He was very confused, so I showed him a picture of the pizza that i ordered during my last visit as well as the receipt from that day. He said something about there not being a button for that, and I said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know it would be a problem because the lady from before made it look so easy." He "yeah, yeah, yeah'd" me and then muttered something else under his breath. Oook... So, the pizza comes out with a red sauce. He puts a lid on it, and as he's pinching the container closed, I mention how the Bianca isn't supposed to have a red sauce on it. He dismissively nods to what I've said, and starts to hand me the pizza. As I reach out to take the incorrectly made dish, I say, "actually, I don't like red sauce which is why I ordered a white pizza. Can I please get it without the sauce?" He gets visibly annoyed, says something under his breath, disappears into the kitchen, and they remake it. When the new pizza comes out, he literally tosses a plastic cover on it then points to it. Confused, I start to pinch it closed myself. For some reason, it's having trouble closing it and he just watches me struggle with it and doesn't offer to help. So I ask him to close it for me. He does it begrudgingly and he struggles to close it too, but by this time, I'm just glad that I can get out of there. Once I leave and try the pizza, it's a far cry from the pizza I had six days prior. Tasted completely different - it was missing the garlic. So, now, I completely understand why this place is never busy. Terrible service and inconsistent food. I still can't believe the way he threw the lid onto the container then pointed at it... One star for the pizza six days prior. As wonderful as the female server was during my previous visit, I'll never be back. Skip this one.
