I was content with my Mother's Day dinner, lets dive into the details. The hostess was very kind with a warm greet at the entrance which is stunning, floral, vibrant with lights and well lit tables. Our server was attentive and present all through the evening. All of the appetizers were rather small portioned for the price. Nonetheless very tasty just a little small for my liking and a dinner table of 5 guests. - The Street Style corn was 3/5 it almost tasted artificially sweet, it came with the smallest serving of pita bread. It took two additional orders of the bread to actually enjoy the appetizer. - The Wagyu hummus was 4/5, tasty but I feel you're mainly paying the sticker price of $35 for the smallest pieces of the meat. - Skirt steak was 4/5 its rather hard to mess up a skirt steak but it could've used extra seasoning. Potatoes on the side seemed to just be thrown next to cuts of asparagus. - Lasagnette Bolognese 4/5 seemed pretty traditional aside from the noodles, it was like uncut lasagna sheets which was a nice twist on the dish but a pretty standard sauce. - Chicken Parm 5/5, the parm was rather large, about two palms together in size. The plate seemed to be slightly spiced which was savory. - Chocolate Souffle was 3/5, nothing too special about the dish, for $18 I was hoping for something a little more savory then a brownie bite sized loaf that may have been baked for a few minutes served next to a very small portion of their 'house made ice cream'. Oh well, I gave in! Despite my better judgement, I met up with a cousin who recommend we meet to take in some if not all of the game, particularly to watch his favorite artist, Mr. Bunny perform for the halftime show. I'd be less than honest if I said I had no idea who he was talking about. The only bunny I followed to any extent at all during my life went by "Bugs". This place is built for these type of events. I could say that much. My cousin enjoyed his alcohol of choice, and together we shared some pretty good chicken tenders. Skirt Steak 6/10 - Was ok, on the saltier side but better than the short ribs.Potatoes weren't good. 10. Black Truffle Gnocchi 7/10 - Used real truffles which gave it more depth. One of the better dishes of the night. 11. Lasagnette Bolonese 6/10 - Just okay... 12. Tiramisu 2/10 - Overly sweet, lacked the rich, velvety texture it's supposed to have. Parking tip: Skip the valet. There's usually street parking around the corner that's much more convenient. FYI they automatically charge 20% for large parties and also a 5% benefit surcharge which was not communicated beforehand. On my first visit to Venice this past weekend, a small family dinner was set at Paloma Venice. Its convenient location to many of the homes in the area makes it easy to walk to. Upon arriving, the host immediately seated us at a nice and large table. It was outdoors and the weather was awesome, making this seating arrangement really cool. I did notice they have heaters, which I'm sure comes in handy during the winter months and when it's windy out. The menu was the perfect size and offered a variety of items, regardless of what you're in the mood for. I decided to go for the Greek salad and I'm sure glad I did. The vegetables, feta and overall mix was fantastic. It was large enough to fill me up but not too big. Once the juices started mixing, it was like heaven on earth. For drinks, I opted for a basic old fashioned. Drinks came out quickly and I enjoyed my old fashion. The silverware, table and everything else was very clean and comforting. Our waitress did a great job at servicing us. She made sure to check up on us without being over bearing. She made good suggestions and recommendations and even made sure our order was right. I've been here before and was very impressed with appetizers, cocktails and bread. This time I ordered a main course of the Branzino. Sides were extremely salty (they did serve quite a big portion of the side) -- non-edible without pairing with bread. Compared to other restaurants of the same caliber, the meal was overpriced $58 (should've been a whole fish prepared bone in instead of a fillet) and I was underwhelmed. Another table ordered fish and the outside area smelled fishy (non-fresh old fish). For dessert, I ordered the berry crumble and There was absolutely no crumble. It was just hot berries. I did like the taste of the berries but they were scalding hot and very soupy/liquid because it hadn't been cooled. This dessert comes à la mode but you get about a tablespoon size amount of ice cream. I would say the dessert is overpriced as well. I have absolutely no issue paying premium prices for exceptional meals. But the service was mediocre, the ambience was great and the meal left me wanting something else. After this last visit, I will not be returning. This restaurant is not worth fighting through the traffic at Venice. If you find yourself already in the area, then I would pop in for appetizers and cocktails. read more

Our server was timely and professional. We ordered 2 chicken shawarma plates for 3 people. While they are pricey at $38 each, they were so delicious and a sufficient amount with an additional pita. The pitas are fantastic, hot and puffy. They are possibly the best I've ever had. The chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned. Our reservation was at 3:45 pm on July 18th 2026. We were seated quickly, but upon being seated we were placed right next to the TV that was showing the world cup match and if you can imagine it was loud via the speakers. We quickly asked the host if we could move to another table, he said he had ask his boss and he got the okay and moved us. We waited for 40 minutes before someone came to the table and ask us for our drink order, only because we had to get up and ask to be waited on. The restaurant wasn't busy, and there were waiters hanging out near their central workstation. When a waiter finally came over, you can tell he was bothered by us asking to be waited on and told us that our waiter hadn't shown up for their shift yet, but that he would go ahead and take our drink order while we waited. We simply asked for water and he obliged and brought us water to start. Then he asked if we wanted any other drinks and we said yes, and gave him our orders. Before he walked off, we asked if they can turn the volume down, he said sure and walked away grumbling because we asked. He brought us our drinks and proceeded to take our orders. Sadly, because of his poor attitude and demeanor, it took away from the rest of our time on our visit. But the waitress that took over, was very pleasant and helpful, constantly checking in to see if everything was fine. Sadly some of the food we ordered was cold when they brought it to the table. For our drinks we had the TOPA TOPA IPA + SHOT OF FERNET BRANCA and the PALOMA VENICE. The appetizer was nothing that we've tasted but in a good way, SHEEP'S MILK WHIPPED RICOTTA. Somehow I've been here 3 times, that's 3 times too many. Food is subpar, certainly not worth the price. Nothing special, not sure how they stay in business on such prime property. Most recently my wife ordered a whiskey sour and when asked what whiskey she'd like, she stated "bottom shelf, wells whiskey". On the same night, our friend asked the waiter what the chilled red was. The waiter stated "it's a sommelier's choice". We shared the ahi tuna tartare, rigatoni alla vodka, whipped ricotta, and the meatballs. It was more than enough food for 2 of us. My favorites were the ahi tuna tartare (served with taro chips) and the whipped ricotta (served with a warm, puffy pita cut into 4 slices). My least favorite was the rigatoni alla vodka but that said, it was still good, just not as delicious as the other offerings.
