Food was yummy. Drinks were good everything was fresh. We were seated inside near the bar. Our server was very pleasant.

The scenery and ambiance of this restaurant is phenomenal. I would come back simply to sit and drink a glass of water and admire the atmosphere lol I came here for dinner on a Tuesday with Timeleft and it was a lot of fun! The artichoke salad and the sea bass were delicious! I got the artichoke salad without the cheese--so it may taste even better with the cheese. The servers were attentive and helpful, especially when it came to dietary restrictions.

We went to Paloma for a Saturday lunch, got there 12:30pm we were seated right away. We did the lunch pre fix menu, 3 items for $38 each. It was all delicious and we enjoyed our meal!

I must say the first visit was just so-so I walked away not sure if I would be back. Well the next visit made me fall in love with the place. Johnathan at the bar is exceptional in both mixing up a breakfast old fashion and in friendliness. My meal (I've now had a few times) might be one of the best breakfast bowls I've ever tasted. I would definitely say if you've given Paloma a chance and didn't love it given another you might be extremely surprised and pleased just as I was.

Octopus Salad and Up Up & Away
    Paul L.

Stopped in at Paloma Venice before braving the 405, which already felt like a responsible life choice. I could not commit to a single entrée, so I went with the mussels and the octopus salad, and honestly that was the right move. Both portions were massive and packed with flavor. The mussels were the kind of dish that makes you slow down and actually pay attention, and the octopus salad was tender and well balanced, not chewy or overworked. I also ordered a cocktail called Up Up & Away, which landed in familiar territory if you like a Paper Plane. Bright, balanced, and easy to keep sipping. Service was genuinely great without being overbearing, which I always appreciate. The ambiance was lovely, especially the indoor outdoor setup, though the wind definitely reminded us we were in Venice. Not a deal breaker, just part of the neighborhood charm. Solid spot for a relaxed dinner before heading back into traffic.

Paloma in Venice has a nice, beautiful ambiance but the experience didn't quite live up to the setting. While the service was good, the food was fine, not amazing. Here's what we ordered: 1. Pear Mojita /6/10 2. Wagyu Hummus 7/10 - American wagyu and not japanese wagyu so taste was alright. Doesn't have the melt in your mouth goodness. Pita bread was yums. 3. Black Mussel 7/10 - Decently fresh, garlic bread was ok 4. Prosciutto & Burrata 7/10 5. Ahi Tuna Tartare 7/10 6. Shrimp Salad 7/10 - Refreshing. 7. Plum Glazed Short Ribs 6/10 - Way too sweet for my taste, but the ribs themselves were tender and well-cooked. 8. Branzino 7/10 - Fish was cooked well, but the seasoning felt a bit flat. 9. Skirt Steak 6/10 - Was ok, on the saltier side but better than the short ribs.Potatoes weren't good. 10. Black Truffle Gnocchi 7/10 - Used real truffles which gave it more depth. One of the better dishes of the night. 11. Lasagnette Bolonese 6/10 - Just okay... 12. Tiramisu 2/10 - Overly sweet, lacked the rich, velvety texture it's supposed to have. Parking tip: Skip the valet. There's usually street parking around the corner that's much more convenient. FYI they automatically charge 20% for large parties and also a 5% benefit surcharge which was not communicated beforehand. Don't get why restaurants are making us pay for their employee benefits it's revolting. It's a photogenic spot, ideal if you're looking for an Instagram moment or a cocktail with friends, but if you're looking for quality food, I'd pass.

    Greek Salad.

On my first visit to Venice this past weekend, a small family dinner was set at Paloma Venice. Its convenient location to many of the homes in the area makes it easy to walk to. Upon arriving, the host immediately seated us at a nice and large table. It was outdoors and the weather was awesome, making this seating arrangement really cool. I did notice they have heaters, which I'm sure comes in handy during the winter months and when it's windy out. The menu was the perfect size and offered a variety of items, regardless of what you're in the mood for. I decided to go for the Greek salad and I'm sure glad I did. The vegetables, feta and overall mix was fantastic. It was large enough to fill me up but not too big. Once the juices started mixing, it was like heaven on earth. For drinks, I opted for a basic old fashioned. Drinks came out quickly and I enjoyed my old fashion. The silverware, table and everything else was very clean and comforting. Our waitress did a great job at servicing us. She made sure to check up on us without being over bearing. She made good suggestions and recommendations and even made sure our order was right. I appreciated her for that. Overall, great experience and hope to be back on my next visit to Venice.

first off, this is a beautiful place with lots of thought put into the decor and dishes. very floral californian coastal vibes. especially enjoyed the tuna poke with the taro chips. couldn't get enough of it haha. the fish was super fresh and the chips had a great crisp to them. we also had the pesto gnocchi which had one of the best pesto sauces i've ever tasted, with chewy yummy pasta. in lieu of a cocktail, had a green juice, and it was good and i felt great after drinking it haha. it was nice to experience this place, it's a good place to brunch and catch up with friends. it is pretty expensive tho, maybe around 40-50 a person if you get drinks. it's right off of abbot kinney and venice so location location location!

Updated review! Such a beautiful restaurant! They have a choice between outside seating, middle section seating, & indoor seating. This location is small to large party friendly! I encourage to make reservations as it can get busy during dinner time and on the weekends We came with a reservation on a Sunday evening around sunset! Unfortunately we were unable to be sat at an outside table to watch the sunset, nonetheless the environment is overall beautiful Now for the food: Tuna tartare 10/10: I love trying different tars and I truly enjoyed how yummy this one was! It came with lemon to squeeze on top and it was a good portion for two people Ricotta cheese dip 9/10: good portion for two people. If you love ricotta cheese, you will enjoy this. I wish it came with more bread, though! Chicken Parmesan 8/10: the chicken was a little bit, tough, and slightly dry. However, the cheese and the sauce were amazing! Bolognese pasta 8/10: I wish the Bolognese had a little bit more sauce. It was cooked beautifully in the pasta was cooked to perfection! It wasn't too salty or too bland Overall, the service was kind and attentive. I would've wish that we would've been able to sit outside with the reservation! Next time!!

This time service was honestly not friendly at all... didn't greet us or ask how the food was or anything. Food is on the pricier side ($38 for the shawarma) and they got rid of some of the good dishes like carbonara and pizza. Cute outdoor covered and uncovered patio vibe, might be the best part of your experience

My second visit to this establishment did not disappoint. The ambience is so appealing, especially after a flight into LAX. I love the outdoor patio, and especially the blooming plumeria trees. Our server was timely and professional. We ordered 2 chicken shawarma plates for 3 people. While they are pricey at $38 each, they were so delicious and a sufficient amount with an additional pita. The pitas are fantastic, hot and puffy. They are possibly the best I've ever had. The chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned. The plate was rounded out with a nice salad, hummus and terrific tzatziki.

The ambiance and service are top notch here. Great spot before a night out, great for big or smaller parties, and a romantic date night spot. Drinks are amazing and food comes out quick! Solid place!

Came here for a small bite & so good! We started with the all tomatoes salad - which was delicious! Changed up the Penne Paloma with pesto sauce instead and so heavenly! And just the simple jasmine green tea to sip. Beautiful ambiance and location! We will be back :)

I made an OpenTable reservation about 10-15 minutes before arriving, and I'm glad I did because there was already a short line when we got there. There's valet parking for $13 for smaller cars/SUVs and $20 for larger trucks, plus tip, so definitely factor that into the meal cost. Street parking looked pretty difficult, so we were happy to just hand over the keys and not worry about it. Even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes. The restaurant is beautiful, and as you walk toward the dining room, you can see the fire blazing in the background. Unfortunately, our table was close enough to the fire that one side of us was basically being slow-roasted. We asked to move, and the staff was incredibly nice and switched us to another table immediately. Food-wise, this was definitely a mixed bag. The 26 oz prime ribeye ($185) was the biggest disappointment. I know it's an expensive special-occasion dish, and I saw a Yelp review calling it 10/10, so we thought, why not? Sadly, it was probably the worst ribeye I've ever had. There was a lot of silver skin/tough connective tissue throughout the meat, and for $185, I just don't think it was worth it. 1/5 for me. The grilled prawns were my favorite dish of the night and were excellent. My husband loved the lamb neck shawarma ($61). It was a little too rich for me, but I can see why he liked it, and at $61, it actually felt like one of the better values of the meal. We also enjoyed the duck hummus. The hummus with two pieces of pita was $19, but that definitely wasn't enough for three people, so we ordered two more pieces for another $10. That brought us to $29 for hummus and four pieces of pita. Delicious? Yes. A bargain? Absolutely not. Even in California, that's a lot of pita math. We also tried the Samira cocktail ($18), which they said was their most popular drink. It was good, but not particularly memorable for that price. There's also a 4% "Healthy LA" charge, so that's something to keep in mind when looking at the menu prices. For three people, our total was about $375 before tip, or a little over $120 per person. That's actually more than we spent at Nobu, so yes, I think Bavel is overpriced. But was the food good overall? Also yes. I'm glad we tried it, and I'd probably come back for the grilled prawns and maybe the shawarma. But the $185 ribeye? That one can stay at Bavel.
