Amazing experience at Casa 12! We had a party of 20 and were situated in the back area of the restaurant, which was perfect for our large group! All the servers took amazing care of us - they were friendly, patient, kind, and truly went out of their way to deliver the best service. The food was also great - everyone was extremely pleased with what they ordered. Highlights included the octopus, the branzino, the lobster ravioli. We appreciated that all the food came out at a reasonable time as well, despite us having a large party. Casa 12 delivers quality food and service for reasonable prices. My family & went there for the 1ST time last night and food, ambience and service were fine but they need to work on their salads for starters. CASA 12 has become incredibly popular as a wait for a seat at the bar is usually 20-30 minutes. They have had some change in personnel and Marlise is a great bartender and server. I ordered my usual which is the Caesar Salad with chicken, the Fusilli Funghi, and a side order of Spinach and bread along with an Iced Tea which is $5! The prices have risen at least 10% in 2026, and waiters have a bad habit of bringing our my entree before I finish my salad, but such is life. I dine at CASA 12 because of the people I meet and the interesting people who also sit at the bar. The food is good, the overall delivery of the food could be better, but I'll match their menu with anyone in the Venice/Marina neighborhood. They also host weddings, small parties as well as great date night for any couple. Dinner for one, just a pasta dish and salad is now close to $70 and I do notice some couples sharing an entree. I'll accept the price increases as long as the meal is great and the people just as interesting. The staff is great as well as the ownership who go out of there way to be pleasant and accommodating. Such a local gem that I almost don't want to give away the secret. Our server, Edgar, it was his first day and he did great. Great hire! ;-) we really hope they keep this one around. Such a natural! I went to Casa 12, an Italian spot just steps from the beach, last summer--sorry for the late review, I post when I remember. The night I went, it was packed, which I usually avoid, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I had one of the most memorable dishes I've had in a long time: portobello mushrooms with shaved parmesan. Months later, I still think about that dish--it was easily one of the best things I ate in 2025. We also had a couple of pastas and drinks; everything was good, though my pasta (with sausage) wasn't my favorite. Total was around $140, so not cheap, but not unreasonable for the area. We came to Casa 12 at 7:30pm on a Saturday night with a res for our anniversary dinner We arrived at the restaurant and an indoor table wasn't ready, so we had to wait about 5-10 minutes to be sat, which was pretty annoying. When we were sat, we were sat right by the bathroom door, and the man who I'm assuming was the manager told us we could move tables when a different party left. We got started with a bottle of wine, then had to move all of our things a few minutes later to a table that was so so so close to other tables that I struggled to get out when we left. Truly every single dish we had was delicious, I think the gorgonzola pasta was a standout! The service was okay on the whole, towards the end of our meal a sweet lady started helping us out, and she was fantastic. Whilst we were dining, the entire back area of the restaurant was filled with a large group that was quite rowdy, and it did detract from the intimate, Italian restaurant vibe we were looking for. The desserts were also yummy and the manager brought over some limoncello for our troubles, however with so many amazing Italian options in LA, I don't know if we'd return. Came for mother's day and the restaurant was a great choice for it. Location-wise, it's right next to Venice beach so we parked at the beach lot for $9 all day. We sat inside and it had a nice ocean breeze and nicely decorated. We ordered their grilled skewers for appetizer, then penne a pomodoro, seafood risotto, lobster ravioli, and 2 pastas of the day which were papardelle with short rib and squid ink with scallops. They also provided complimentary bread with olive oil and vinaigrette. Service was friendly and attentive. Recommend coming for date night or special occasions. Cozy little restaurant right in front of the Venice pier, not much room and it's quite noisy inside where you can really have a conversation without yelling which is annoying. Service was prompt and our hostess came to check on us frequently and explained the specials to us. We ordered the grilled octopus and a ragu pasta of some kind and the social of the day which was pappardelle with short rib. I'd say the octopus was cooked really well, I've never experienced that kind of texture (no rubbery feeling) with octopus. The Food was terrible. Their brandino ($42) was not fresh and breaded served with 2 carrots, it was ridiculous. Pizza was terrible. Lacked flavor, tasted like a frozen pizza , very little tomato sauce, and the cheese didn't look right. Pasta was something you would get at a wedding, edible but nothing to rave about. I would say they have a nice ambience! So maybe only have a drink at the bar. I don't recommend the food at all. read more

This restaurant made me want to move closer to Venice. The first thing I noticed was how quaint yet lively the atmosphere was. It felt warm, and the staff was friendly from the moment we walked in the door. We sat at a small table across from the pass, which I thought would be awful, but it was terrific and we got to see all the deliciousness coming out of the kitchen. It made it hard to decide what to order. We started with a bottle of wine, which was recommended by the most pleasant waiter. It was simply delicious and modestly priced. The place was packed, but the noise never raised to a level where we couldn't hear each other across the table. We started with the crostini which was topped with creamy burrata, ripe tomatoes, and a drizzle of sweet balsamic glaze, followed my an equally fresh and delicious Caesar Salad. A+ for the generous portion of anchovies , which we love. My husband had the bolognese (his favorite), which ate impossibly light. I had the lamb chops which were nicely caramelized on the outside, tender and flavorful. I don't know what the sauce was but I wanted to lick the plate. It really was a perfect meal in a lovely setting. As we walked out I couldn't help but smile. Not only because of our experience, but because it was clear by their faces and jovial energy that everyone else was experiencing the same vibe. Came here with friends on a whim one evening after a day of reveling. Casa 12 is a cozy restaurant with a small outdoor patio. We were seated outside as the weather was perfect for al fresco dining. ;-) The service was very fast and friendly. We all ordered our own meals (usually we tend to share), and I ordered the Veal Ossobuco Ravioli. WOW! I absolutely love Ossobuco, and I absolutely love ravioli, so this was a match made in Heaven! We were looking for a cozy and quiet spot to grab a drink on a Friday night (9ish) and walked past Casa 12. It was busy, but it but we were able to grab a quiet spot inside. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and although we weren't interested in dinner, our server gave us the highlights reel of the specials. We weren't very hungry, but the prosciutto pasta with vodka sauce sounded really simple and nice, so decided to grab one to share. The pasta was good, sauce was velvety and service was nice. (Although what's the deal with slamming down plates?) I suppose the surprise was when we got the bill - $85 with tax for two glasses of one and one pasta dish?! Apparently the daily special pasta was $42, which was significantly more than their other pasta dishes on the menu. The prices weren't mentioned when the specials were read out. We didn't contest it, but nearly $100 all was quite steep for what it was. I'd be open to trying it again, but maybe not for a casual night? read more

First timer at this place this past Monday March 30th with my super fly all over most fav :) BFF Babe/Baby/Majestic Heavenly Soulmate :)))))))) All the real flowers and plants here are a huge delight! Great pasta especially their sauce. We had the strawberry mocktail with 2 shrimp skewers appetizers and a pasta with shrimps to share. All scrumptious. Then a red wine tasted real good and I normally don't drink alcohol ha I had my golden hair up in a ponytail and when I put it down, the owner Manuel came over to chat with us. I knew he was going to do that. Lmao He looks similar to Johnny Depp ha. Manuel is real nice and we can tell he's passionate about his italian restaurant here. Building has been around since 1976 whoa but he's owned it for a cool decade by far. We love this place! Small but cozy feel with dark moody interior. The food is actually SO good, some of our favorite pasta in LA. The staff are always friendly and aren't overbearing when checking in which is nice to just get to enjoy your company without being interrupted. My late grandmother was from New York City so from the time I could walk and talk I was exposed to good Italian food, I was very loyal to the restaurant Piccolo in the area however since their closure I have turned my sights to another Italian joint with the same ownership. What awaits is wonderful food including pasta made in house, good service, and an impressive selection of wine. The Bolognese was absolutely perfect it is very filling. The front of house here like at Piccolo are straight characters. Lindsay is somehow both a barista and a bartender operating the one of the scariest looking coffee machines I have ever seen. Very nice ambiance and decoration and some incredible people watching. Considering it's right nearby where I live it's criminal I haven't come to this spot earlier. Local Open Table find on Christmas Day evening for which we were grateful. Food - 5 stars, pastas (ravioli, carbonara, and bolognese) were toothsome and satisfying. Wines by the glass were well priced and offered excellent selection of both whites and reds. Ambiance - cosy and neighborhood trattoria feel, not too dark, music a touch too loud but if lowered there are a lot of hard surfaces and it might make the space noisy. Service - holidays can be challenging, lots of reservations and walk ins if you are one of the few establishments open for business. That said - our drinks arrived as we were finishing our meal after we had to ask where they were on the bar which we were seated a few steps from. I think I definitely would return for the food, but I hope that when the restaurant is less busy the service would improve. read more

Unfortunately, After greeting our table & getting us started with wine & appetizers we didn't see our waitress for the rest of the night. I had to flag down multiple people for basic dining needs (napkins, bread, refills, etc). We decided not to order entrees after waiting about 20 minutes without seeing our waitress. However, the appetizers we did get (shrimp skewers & crostini) were uninspiring; the shrimp wasn't fresh and both dishes came on a bed of plain dry arugala. Ok, what a find. We recently move to Venice , because we lost our home in the palisades fire. Living on Ocean Front has its perks. One is a great sunset every night, the other is Casa 12. I love this place, every one there is friendly, it is truly a beautiful local restaurant. The place runs like a Rolex smooth and timely. All of the food is on point. From the carpaccio octopus, and good Caesar to start. The mains include a rack of lamb, delicious, the chicken, my go to or a lovely Bronzino. This place has gone downhill in a really disappointing way. We've been here multiple times before and used to have great experiences, which is why we kept giving it another chance. But the service lately has been unbelievably bad. A recent visit with my sister, we were seated and then completely ignored for over 10 minutes without even being able to order drinks. We ended up leaving. Tonight confirmed it wasn't a one off. My husband and I came back hoping it would be better. We ordered drinks and appetizers, finished everything, and then a staff member came by and cleared our plates and silverware without asking if we were done, without checking in, and without taking our dinner order. After that, we sat there for about 20 minutes with menus in front of us, clearly ready to order. No one came. We tried to get a server's attention, staff were cleaning tables around us, and still no one acknowledged us or helped us. What made it even more frustrating was watching other tables, clearly regulars, get seated quickly, have their orders taken right away, and receive way more attention from the servers while we were being completely ignored. We finally asked for the check and left without ordering dinner. We are now going somewhere else just to eat. It is honestly frustrating because the food is good and it is right near our house, but the service is so bad at this point it completely ruins the experience. We will not be coming back. read more
