It's small plates, so they recommend 2-3 items per person. I'd suggest looking at the menu on their website ahead of time because there's photos of every dish. The menu at the restaurant doesn't have any photos. Good for both small or large groups. I recommend making a reservation on their website because it gets busy. I was pretty impressed. I'd recommend: -- the pear & brie pizza: This was NOT super aesthetic but it was delicious. I loved it -- the tripoline pasta: WOW, I wanted to lick the bowl. so good!! I even dipped some of the pizza/bread in it because I was obsessed with the sauce - Drinks: I got the Tempest. I had to ask them to make it less sweet. We used to be regulars at Bacari, but after our recent experience, we won't be coming back. We arrived at 8:25 for our 8:30 reservation and were told to wait at the bar. After 40 minutes of waiting with no updates, I followed up--only to be told, "Oh, we forgot. Your table's ready." No apology, no sense of urgency. On top of that, the food just isn't what it used to be. It feels like ever since they got busier, they've stopped caring about the customer experience altogether. With so many great restaurants in LA--literally even on the same street--why would anyone spend money somewhere that doesn't value their patrons? Disappointing and not worth it. read more

One of my favorite places on the west side and a must try! They have multiple locations, but think this is the best one out of all of them. Great for dates, drinks, meetings, or you're trying to impress someone. Parking is a little tough, but sometimes there's meter parking so give some time and I would recommend you have a reservation especially if it's more than 2 people. You can always put your name down and go to the bar and wait and someone will come and get you when your table is ready. As soon as you walk in you get taken through a long hallway into a garden/tree patio area that doesn't feel like LA. There's bar seating, outdoor, and an indoor area that is dimly lit, but you can still see the cool outside. Service has always been great and will have great recs. - DRINKS - probably one of the best deals in LA with a 90min open bar for $33-$35. $35 is basically for well drinks, beer, wine, and Sangria. The sangria is banging!! - Food - Tripoline Pasta is a MUST!! That thing hits harder than crack, I've never done it, but definitely need that Tripoline. Ricotta & Beet gnocchi has a great flavor and aways a dish I get. Mac & Cheese bangs and never misses. Fried chicken sliders are good, just trust me and get the aioli on the side because that's a strong flavor. Ceviche is fine, just not something that I order often unlike everything else mentioned. Smoked mushroom pizza is nice to share. Bread pudding is absolutely delicious!! This might be the best thing here if you have a sweet tooth and it says a lot because there's a lot of delicious food. There are three locations of Bacari. 3rd Street in Los Angeles, Glendale near the Americana Mall and Silverlake. I've been to Glendale and now 3rd and enjoyed both. Bacari W3rd has one significant drawback. Parking. Just give yourself time to park on a side street and walk. It will feel good to walk after your meal. My daughter and I celebrated Father's day here. My hubby had covid but said "go enjoy". We were a bit sad to celebrate Father's Day without him...but we did enjoy. The cocktails were refreshing. Using fresh juice, we might have downed them a little fast (did I mention they were delicious?). I had the basil breezewhich was perfect for the warm afternoon. My daughter had something pink. It was great. I know I am failing Yelp here but I was so taken with my cocktail I do not recall hers. But I think it was the bacari bramble, because I recall talking about blackberries with her. Ah well, you will have to try it yourself. We shared the chef's salmon, brussels sprouts, the cauliflower, seared petit filet and the Bacari fries. The salmon a bit salty. Cauliflower with a little heat was lovely. The brussels sprouts were wonderful. But OMG those fries. With a fried egg on top. Both my daughter and I practically squealed in happiness. Those fries are just happy in your mouth. Service was warm and fast. The waiter kinda chuckled at us, cuz, you know, mom and daughter were giggling and we had some humor going. Especially chowing on those fries. Sitting out on the patio under the branches of the trees, enjoying the food and our drinks made what was a last minute change of plans (hubby covid) into a very special mother daughter evening. Lively, romantic, and social setting. Noise level is loud. You will have to speak up and use your vocal chords at this restaurant. My order: -Shawarma Chicken Tacos (choice of 2 or 3 Tacos) 3 tacos is perfect. They were good. Not mind blowing but I enjoyed it. Honestly, this felt more like an appetizer. But I guess this is what tapas mean? -The Falling Sun Drink (Rum concoction with peach, pineapple, and other works). Delightful, light drink. But it wasn't worth $16. -Roasted Cauliflower (Really good, the sauce they use is delicious) -Bread Pudding (Not mind blowing, nothing crazy here but is a nice dessert if you want to order -Donut Hole Dessert (Small Bite sized donuts. Nothing crazy here. Comes with a caramel glaze dip and a white glaze sauce. I wouldn't order this again) Reason I rate 4/5 is because I don't agree with the prices for each tapa. I think it's a bit on the steeper end in terms of the value and quantity. Summer dinner under a canopy of trees! Loved the nighttime ambiance and enjoyed every dish here. Tapas style - we found 4 dishes and a bottle of wine to be perfect for us. We had the Tuscan Kale Salad, Oaxacan Pasta, Shawarma Tacos, Asian pear & Brie pizza and the chateau heritage wine recommended by our server. What can I say I love this place. Very romantic perfect for date night. I enjoyed trying all the different cocktails they have. We got 20/20 vision and classic margarita. I'm a big fan of the Bacari locations in Silverlake and Playa Del Rey. This was my first time dining here, and unfortunately I did not enjoy this location as much. The food was still incredible, just like the other locations. But the service and ambiance fell short. Our waiter, Christopher, took forever to come and bring us water and take our orders. Then we did not see him for the rest of the night. Literally. We were very confused as to why he never came to check on us. We noted this to a different server, who said that he was new, but honestly that's unacceptable. It significantly tarnished our experience. Also it is incredibly dark inside the restaurant which made it very difficult to read our menus. We had to use the flashlight on our phones. They would benefit from hanging some string lights in the patio for the night time. Finally, there was either a big rat or possum crawling around in the trees while we ate. I saw another reviewer mention this, and it looks like it continues to be a problem. Overall, although the food maintained the Bacari level of excellence, the rest of the dining experience left a lot to be desired. read more

I didn't enjoy it personally, but my friends did. the egg and fries was surprisingly good and probably my favorite part. -I also got the Petit Filet which was seriously just 5 tiny pieces of meat. the sauce it came with was a pretty good compliment to it. Although extreme small in portion, I got it medium and it was tender and juicy. I enjoyed the few bites I had of it, I just wish there was more. I didn't want to order 3 plates of the same dish. -My partner got the glazed pork belly. Very flavorful and just melted in your mouth. Sadly, it was just 6 tiny cubes of it. -He also got the White Pizza which he devoured. In the picture, I made him not eat the last slice so I could try getting a photo! ha! Dessert: for my friends birthday, they gave her a bread pudding which was very delicious, I just personally didn't love the texture, but that's a personal preference. I also ordered the chocolate CAKE, but they gave me cassically a ball of cold fudge and melted ice cream. lastly I ordered Hillel's donuts and was once again disappointed. They donutes themselves were bland and way too dense. The sauces that came with it were not good at ALL. would NOT recommend. Service: sucked. waitress asked if we're celebrating anything. I said yes it's my friends birthday. she said "okay I won't sing to you, we dont normally sing here, but if you guys sing, i'll jump in" which was weird because we didn't say anything about singing. My friend wanted them to sing but didn't say anything. Then, she would walk away and not come back for a long while. She did not care to check up on us. She made several unsolicited and unecessary comments about our appetite and such. She then went against her original statement and brought out the bread pudding with a candle and said she'll sing happy birthday to her. She was just inattentive and her attitude and her service sucked. Her name was April, so if that's your waitress, ask for another. Lastly, they automatically charged 20% tip since we had a party of 7, which normally I understand if they service is atleast decent, but the service was horrible I considered talking to the manager, but I didn't want to be a karen lol.
