This place is so good! For a classy LA restaurant that is a bit hyped, it definitely lives up to its name and reputation. It's mainly street parking here which can be tricky, but they do offer valet for less than $10 I believe. The ambiance here is great! We made reservations for 6pm on a Saturday and it was fairly busy, but we were seated right away. I highly suggest making a reservation, but even if you don't have one, definitely still try coming! 2 parties in front of me were walk-ins and were seated fairly quickly as well. I loved the outdoor patio they have, it feels so secluded and European in style. The trees and decor are so beautiful while you're enjoying your meal. We got the sea bass, Asian pear and Brie pizza, hunter's Mac and cheese, stuffed mushrooms, and the best cake you've ever had. Everything was so flavorful, but my favorite was definitely the pizza! You have to try it if you visit. It had such a great flavor palate with the sweetness of the pear and savory flavors of the Brie complementing each other so well. The sea bass had a great glaze and was melt-in-your-mouth soft. I loved the stuffed mushrooms as they came with a great pesto sauce. The Mac n cheese could've been skipped in my opinion, but it was still very creamy and satisfying. The cake was incredibly flavorful and the perfect level of sweet. Safe to say that we were both stuffed. Our waitress was very attentive, and checked on us a good amount of times. This prices here are pretty average. Every dish averages 9-14 dollars so you can try a lot without breaking the bank. The drink are around 10-15 dollars each and -2 dollars during happy hour. I think it is a very good deal for the quality of the food, drinks and great customer service. This place is so adorable! The ambiance here is unparalleled. I love the garden indoor/outdoor setting. I love tapas because sharing is the best way to try many things. The bread they serve here to start is delicious and comes with this amazing garlic oil. My favorite dish was probably the pork belly but I also enjoyed the other items we ordered: Oaxacan pasta, brussel sprouts, beet & ricotta gnocchi (this was unique with a sort of tartness to it), and shawarma tacos (a little dry, my least favorite of the dishes we ordered). Weirdest experience I've ever had here tonight! I've gone to this Bacari location many times and have always had the best experience. The food was exceptional as it always is but the service was all over the place. It was our fault for not making a reservation and we expected a long wait but that wasn't even the problem. I understand that the restaurant was very very busy and I honestly would've preferred to have been turned away than greeted rudely by the hostess. After we were moved around a bit after an hour of waiting, they told us we would get an "appetizer on the house", so amazing right ? Two seconds after we sat down we were greeted with an appetizer only to get it taken away a minute later because they didn't mean to bring it to us. The waitress awkwardly reached her hand over and grabbed it from our table without saying anything. The waitress who took care of us, however, was very nice and attentive but the rest of the staff was a mess. When we got the check we told them that we were told we would get a free appetizer and she said she would take care of it. I didn't think to recheck the total (silly me) but then realized when I got home they didn't take it off but rather gave us a $5-6 discount?? It just felt so weird tonight and the vibes were definitely off, just wish everyone was on the same page. That being said we would have been fine without the discount but don't say something and then not do it ?? Love this place so much but just felt so off! We just moved to the neighborhood and my wife has been here with a Friend for happy hour a week before and wanted to go back. I'm glad we did. The first thing you notice when you welcome this courtyard is it doesn't belong in the middle of West Hollywood on West 3rd Street. You do feel like you're in a different place, somewhere in Spain. The fair is small plates and good drinks. On the day that we went there was a plumbing issue and they had to close early which is a shame. But we did have four appetizers and some drinks and we had a great time. The following is all of the food that was served to us. I'll give a little brief explanation on each. But definitely look up the happy hour menu because there's some pretty good deals and the ambiance is fantastic. Progression @eatwithbacari. Small plates; big flavor . In order: Drinks - The only way to start off! Octopus - cabbage, red onion, celery, & fig slaw; lime vinaigrette. The flavor was great on this but they terribly overcooked the octopus to the point that the octopus tasted like chewy sweet potato fries. That's a shame I really wish they hadn't overdone the octopus. Noa's Cauliflower - caramelized, chipotle sauce, mixed green. This had great flavor and there was great texture on the cauliflower definitely not overdone. Stuffed Mushroom - five cheese blend, toasted pecan, basil walnut pesto, parmesan, parsley. Tons of flavor here and a strong progression of notes, and the mushrooms were firm and not mushy. Well done. Lamb Stuffed Eggplant - seasoned ground leg of lamb, lemon garlic emulsion, lemon chip, scallion. This is the small plate that you go back for over and over again. The lamb actually tastes like lamb and the eggplant again was not overdone. It texturally held up very well. Very good progression of flavors. Nothing to complain about when visiting Bacari, no matter which location you choose. I celebrated my birthday brunch here with some friends and we had the best time! Service was fantastic, everyone working there has the best attitude and is super friendly. Also, the bathrooms are incredibly clean given how busy this place is. Their bottomless brunch is a steal at $25 per person and I recommend coming here with a group so you can try all the things. It's small plates so you can try a couple bites of each and keep things moving. While the vibe here is super cute, the food was seriously sub par. I loved walking thru the tunnel into the courtyard and in typical "mess" fashion even made my date sit beside me on the bench instead of f2f. While we had a really sweet waitress, I would suggest the restaurant teach the staff how to pronounce the Mediterranean / Israeli dishes that they serve. I may be sensitive to this after 6 years in Israel tho and of course did not take this into account with my 2 star rating. The sangria didn't really taste like alcohol, would not suggest the sabich, the stuffed eggplant, or the bread pudding but the burrata was a hit. There's street parking with meters in the area! We got there a little before opening on Sunday (10:20am for 10:30am opening) and there was already a line outside. We didn't have a reservation so hoped for the best and ended up getting seated after they helped everyone with a reservation (table for 2). We sat in the side area by the boba store (not the cute garden courtyard) but it was perfect still! Less cute vibes but Danielle was still so attentive and everything was super COVID safe and spaced. We got the egg pizza (absolutely amazing and light), cauliflower (not too saucy, nice and flavorful), french toast (crispy outside and soft inside yum), and bacon wrapped dates (an absolute treat with cheese INSIDE ugh delicious). I visited Bacari W 3rd on a Thursday evening (with a reservation of course) and had a good experience. Getting to the restaurant was a little tough due to the lack of parking (no surprise with LA) but there is valet available for $11. Walking through the narrow alleyway and into the restaurant was neat! The décor and layout is trendy, upbeat, and inviting. Our table of 6 was seated in the indoor dining room which we were happy with but it quickly became crammed; throughout our dinner, there was very little space to move and not enough table space for the entrees. Despite the lack of space, our server was great! She was friendly, helpful, and made our experience fun. The food was amazing! We ordered 15+ different items off the menu including cocktails, savory dishes, and dessert and everything was beyond delicious. All the food was served at the right temperature which showed the freshness of each item. Our table had a hard time ranking our top 5 items because we were happy with everything. There was not enough seating at the bar so we waited for our table (in the open patio area) outside the restaurant, and luckily the wait was not too long. Loved the ambiance - from the tunnel entrance to the candlelit boho chic patio. Since we're in close quarters it got quite loud in there. Food was pretty good - small plate, tapas style. We made reservations a little more than a week before and requested outdoor seating based on pictures. When we arrived, they told us we'd be seated in the "courtyard", which is NOT at Bacari; it's two doors down near a coffee shop named "Dingle Berries" and thats exactly what you feel like in this courtyard. Its an open business area with raggedy-rickety dirty chairs with string lights above and a broken water fountain. I told the server this was NOT acceptable. After nearly leaving, they said they'd have a table for us in the "Garden", but we'd have to leave by 6:15pm. It was 4:50pm. It's an odd feeling knowing you made reservations, yet you're being told you have to be gone by a certain time to make room for someone else paying the same money you're paying! There was a couple near us when we got there, and they were still there taking their sweet time when we left as we rushed to be out by 6:15. This was really "off-putting". Food: C+: Tapas style so you can try lots of dishes. The chef must love lemon because that's nearly the base of every dish. By dish 3 or 4, we were all sick of the lemon flavor. We got chicken sliders that were oddly enough, lemon flavored ugh. Some things were good like the Mac and cheese but nothing was really mind blowing. Prices: A. Since these are small plates with reasonable prices, you can try a lot and not break the bank. We had 5 people and ordered 7 dishes and our bill was $115. Not too bad. Faculty: A+. Whimsical and enchanting is how I'd describe it. We loved the novelty of walking through the tunnel to enter the garden area. Bathroom was clean. My boyfriend and I work up the street and had the day off so we decided to check out our cute neighbors for a sweet little happy hour. I am glad we went for Happy Hour because we got to see the venue transition from afternoon to evening. We were lucky enough to sit in their back patio which has been romanticized with sweet details throughout each layer of their dining space. Our waitress Daniella recommended her favorite drinks so I took her word and started with their Oxacan Campfire. It was the perfect balance of Mezcal and agave. I followed up with a Mezcal Mule and Basil Breeze. Truly a mouth watering experience. Their menu is offered in Tapas style so we ordered a total of 5 dishes. Though we had plenty of dishes ordered, Daniella and David really kept our table tidy-- taking any used dishes quickly.
