The food was very good but the service was outstanding!!! We had the most sweetest and bubbly wait staff!! She made us feel so welcomed and the dinner was enjoyable because of her! I would highly recommend the dessert sampler! Yummy!!!! My favorite was the cannoli!

Went to Baci Bistro for a business meeting/dinner in Kailua and found it to have a very quaint atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay for it, as I thought the prices were a bit on the expensive side, even for Hawaii. That said, the meal was excellent, and I especially enjoyed my mushroom risotto. The service was fantastic. Paid street and lot parking. Best to make a reservation.

Baci Bistro is honestly one of my favorite Italian spots in Kailua, and the food is always really good. However, I've had ongoing issues with their takeout orders that have been really frustrating. Almost every time I order takeout for my family, something goes wrong. Either food is missing from the bag, the order gets mixed up, or items that were clearly ordered and repeated back to me somehow don't get put on the ticket and never get made. Unfortunately this has happened about six times now. Most recently, I ordered two piccatas, one chicken alfredo, bruschetta, and the three tomato salad. The hostess repeated the order back to me and confirmed everything was in the bag when I picked it up. When I got home, the chicken alfredo was missing. I called and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes, but when I drove back I ended up waiting about 40 minutes. By the time I got home again, the rest of the food was cold. The tomato salad was also missing most of the balsamic glaze this time, which normally comes with a good amount. I really do love the food here, which is why I keep coming back. I just wish the takeout process was more consistent because the mistakes and extra driving back to the restaurant have been disappointing.

Good Italian places are hard to find in Hawaii but baci adequately met my pasta craving need. Restaurant is located in Kailua right off of kuulei road. Plenty of street parking and spots at the garage behind HNB. Inside they decorated everything to look like you're sitting in a greenhouse or garden terrace. Bread and oil was given when we sat down and we split the prosciutto e melone appetizer which was pretty good. Our main dishes were good, we just wish the portion was bigger for the price. Staff was really friendly and on top of their service.

Cozy, quaint charming restaurant setting the tone for a great dinner. Started off with bread and sparkling water. Server presented the daily specials and answered our questions. Caprese salad was refreshing. Cold slice juicy tomatoes topped with soft creamy mozzarella cheese between a basil leaf topped with a balsamic glazed. My veal was sautéed with capers, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and white wine was succulent. The risotto was rich and velvety, perfect complement to the creamy sauce. Guest loved her lobster ravioli. Complete the meal with cannoli which was a perfect ending. So glad we find this gem in Kailua. Will definitely be back to try more items on menu.

Great food, beautiful setting. Cute little Italian bistro. It's very breezy with back door propped open. Service was very slow though... the waiter was nice but Everything g from food, water, and dessert took forever to arrive. Our group of 8 dinner took TWO HOURS If you can refer a similar let menu item like regular spaghetti, they can accommodate. My husband likes a simple dish like spaghetti and meat sauce. They don't have meatballs though. We all enjoyed our food and they comped the birthday dessert for my husband. I highly recommend the cream brûlée OMG

Seafood risotto. Very bland in flavor. Definitely need to add a lot of Parmesan to get more flavor.

An Italian hole in the wall in Kailua with cute decor. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the food. The appetizers were decent, ones you can't really miss the flavor target: caprese and the melon prosciutto. My husband didn't care for the prosciutto as it was too salty but I felt the melon was sweet enough to balance it all out. Caprese salad wasn't anything special, just something I love to have. Our immediate server was kind, calm and helpful constantly checking up on us so, great work Azziriah! The busser however seemed anxious and constantly moving back and forth making it hard to relax and enjoy. One off putting issue was that he kicked our already unstable table and was forgetful in apologizing, so that took away from star points. The main course food was quite bland and reason there was some flavor was due to the Parmesan cheese. When leaving the restaurant I did notice that they left the cheese block unattended near the open back door...... Definitely not a place I will be coming back especially if the bill came out to $138 and food was satisfying. The reason I was generous with the 2 stars is simply due to the decor and the main servers customer service.

We were a party of 4 on a Saturday night at 7:00PM. Our server, Gabe was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a very busy evening. We ordered a bottle of wine and the large beet salad to share. The evening started well, but the food service was extremely slow. We had waited for about an hour, Gabe came by to let us know our food would be up soon. We ordered a second bottle of wine and bread with garlic. The garlic was burnt, black and so hard that we weren't able to spread it. The bussers were quite young and seemed untrained. They weren't attentive and Gabe had to clear our plates. At one point I saw a busser sitting at the bar. I noticed a woman helping to expedite food. I walked up to her to ask if she could tell me if our order would be up soon, we'd been waiting for about an hour. The woman pointed to the table across from us and said, "See that table? They waited for an hour." I said "An hour is a long time to wait for entrees." The woman replied, "that's restaurants" and walked away. Our interaction was upsetting. I asked our server who she was and he said "that's our manager." I told Gabe about our conversation and he dropped his head like "not again". As the manager, I would have expected her to say something more like, "I'm sorry you've had to wait so long for your food. This is an unusually busy night and we're trying our best to get caught up. We appreciate your patience and let me check on your order." But she didn't. The fettuccine Alfredo was decent as was the beet salad. The scampi was cheap frozen shrimp, not scampi. Gabe ended up taking two apps off our check which was appreciated. The food was decent Italian food. There aren't many choices for Italian in Kailua. The restaurant was too bright, the lanai had a better ambiance. We won't go there again because of the poor management.

Met my husband long time friends when he use to play basketball back in the days. Lol. We arrive at 5pm at was greeted right away and was seated to our table. Looked over the menu and I knew what wanted seafood risotto. For an appetizer we ordered beet salad with goat cheese and drizzle of balsamic vinegar dressing. My husband ordered ossco bucco and one of the friends ordered the same. The wife ordered same like me and her husband ordered squid ink pasta with scallops. Was very good. Our dessert was chocolate Gelato and my husband friend ordered cheesecake and cannot. Everything came on time didn't wait to long except the dessert was taking along time. Yes it was busy but it was Gelato, cheesecake and cannoli. Other than that it was good.

Good friends and good food. It was our second time at this Bistro. The restaurant has a nice clean feel to it. Inside and I patio seating. We entered a few minutes before they actually opened but we were seated. The Friendly staff was attentive. Service was a little slow towards the end when we ordered our desserts. Our table had two orders of Roasted Beet salad to share. It was refreshing. The goat cheese and the vinaigrette with a reduction of balsamic vinegar gave the salad it's kick. Five stars awarded. My friends wife and my wife had the Risotto Com Frutti Di Mare. They both enjoyed the risotto. One person had the ink squid pasta which he ordered the last time we were there. Two of us had the special of the night which was the Osso Bucco. Served on a bed of risotto with a demi glace sauce. Tasty and tender. I even brought home some leftovers. As we were leaving the manager gave us a friendly thank-you. Enjoy

Not our first visit to this Kailua staple, and definitely won't be our last! As always the service is very friendly and attentive. The food comes out at the right pace and fresh. Restaurant is cozy and has a lively vibe. Every dish we've tried over the years have been great. I really must recommend the risotto con porcini and add on some scallops! Or for pasta you gotta get the truffles gnocchi! Plus if you like cheese, the mascarpone cheesecake is a must! P.S. I would recommend making a reservation if possible, as this spot is always pumping!

Loved this place for dinner! We had a group of 15 and they accommodated us so well. Service was great and relatively fast for the big group size, prices were reasonable, and food was delicious! Pretty casual and affordable but food quality was still really good! We got almost everything on the menu and nothing really disappointed. Highly recommend the dish with squid ink linguini and scallops! They offered to grate fresh cheese on everything at the table. Good assortment of appetizers, main course, wines and deserts. The dessert sampler was especially amazing and lets you try a little taste of them all. 4 stars only because it was reallyyy hot inside, AC didn't seem to do much because the doors were kept open, and ceiling fixtures above tables could probably use a cleaning but overall I would still definitely come back! My parents and grandma got the veal linguine, veal on sauteed vegetables, and crab cakes which were crispy on the outside but soft and flavorful on the inside and the sauce paired super well with it. I've been to this restaurant a dozen times in the past and have always had a decent experience. I…read moretook my family and mother-in-law on December 30th, however, and it was pretty miserable. Among the issues we encountered: * For two of the items we ordered off the menu, the server came back to our table to explain that the kitchen was "too busy" and as a result these items were not available. Neither was a complicated dish, they were simple appetizers. I've never heard this excuse at any restaurant before. What was especially annoying was that these were the two items ordered by my kids, both of whom are picky eaters on top of dietary restrictions, and therefore had limited options to begin with. * The menu says that substitutions are possible for a $3 charge. For a restaurant this expensive that's a little obnoxious, but fine, I was happy to pay it. Here again, we were told that the kitchen was "too busy" so they couldn't do any substitutions. That included the ridiculously simple request of putting a steak's sauce on the side rather than on top of the steak. I'm paying $55 for a 12-ounce steak and wanted to pay an additional $3 so that they didn't smother it in a sauce that my kid couldn't eat, but that was too much to ask, apparently. I ordered a steak for myself and asked if I could substitute a different vegetable, but this request got the same response: "too busy". I was even willing to pay the full cost of that vegetable as a side dish, but they were unwilling to accommodate. * When our steaks did arrive, my son's was literally almost raw. (In fairness, mine was a perfect medium rare.) I like rare steaks but this was ordered medium rare and was not even warm all the way through. It probably would be considered "blue rare" by standard definitions. * My wife paid $32 for the "scallops and shrimp" entree. It came with 3 scallops and 2 shrimp. Seriously? How is that a meal, much less a $32 meal? * We ordered three drinks (two glasses of wine and one cocktail). After 20 minutes of waiting, none had arrived. We needed to go up to the bar to order them there instead. * I very politely asked to speak to a manager so that I could explain our experience. I have restaurant industry experience and figured they needed to know about all of this. I was promised that a manager would call me within 2-3 days. It has been 6 weeks and I have not received a call. Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath. I won't ever be going back to Assaggio.

What that means is it feels more like a planned restaurant. The kitchen is open at the back, so you can see all the food being made. They have various size tables and bar seating around the kitchen. We ordered our food to go, which was a little frustrating as all items weren't on the online menu. A few things, like bread and salad, I had to order at the host stand, which added to our wait time as the pasta dishes were ready. The staff was super helpful and welcoming however, offering water and seats while I waited. I tried the spaghetti bolognese and loved it; it was a garlic bomb with great flavor and noticeable portion of meat. The salad was delicious, fresh and bright and simple dressing. The garlic bread was soft and great for dipping. Overall, this is a fun place to come. You may have a better experience dining in; and must love garlic!

Absolutely blown away…read more This place was recommended to my partner and I by multiple people so we put in the reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked for a password (which he could not find in his emails hot fortunately they gave us grace lol) then let in. The place was simply lit and each table had a literal gas lamp lighting the space. On the second floor there was a man playing the sax. It was SO gorgeous, Our waitress was great, we were easily influenced by all her suggestions and ended up getting a great meal. We started with drinks. My partner didn't hear her say that the bottom of the menu was "spirit forward" and ordered a VERY strong drink. It actually made for a very giggly and eventful dinner so it was a very happy mistake lol. I got the espresso martini. It was a little creamier than I expected but still tasted really good! I'd order again. Our first appetizer was the Wagyu carpaccio- topped with cilantro (the menu said dill but I saw/ tasted none), fried capers, and caviar. It was surprisingly light and refreshing, basically a meat salad. A beautiful start to our meal. Our second (yes, second) appetizer was the escargot and bone marrow. This was our personal star of the show. A complete 180 to the carpaccio. This was rich, heavy, and decadent. The tomato added a nice balance of acidity to counteract the fatty bone marrow. The escargot was cooked perfectly, no chew but soft and buttery. One of the best bites of my life. The salad it came with was just we needed with it. After this, there was quite a wait until our main entree. A fire dancer came, and danced on the bar counter. I'd say we waited a good 20 minutes until it came out. But we were only impatient because we had plans after dinner. Our main course, which we shared, was the King Arthur- beef Wellington with a side of crab legs. The crab did come out during our appetizers which I appreciated. I only ordered this because I never had beef Wellington before and really wanted to try it LOL, my partner said it was better than the one at hella kitchen! The waitress also talked us into ordering a side of Mac and cheese, and thank GOD she did. It came out piping hot and saucy. There was a slight note of truffle, but it wasn't overpowering, and a nice crust of cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. You definitely get a bang for your buck. It's a hefty buck but it's so worth it.

Live jazz music was a plus. Food was really good, especially for the portions of it. At the end we couldn't even get desserts since everyone was stuffed but happy. Best dish of night would be the Black Truffle Risotto. We would definitely come back just to get this dish alone. It could have been a 5 stars experience if one of our servers didn't seem to rush things to clear up the tables. Got asked a couple of times if dish was done tho the person who ordered that was in the restroom.. and was asked to pass the utensils to her in not a very nice tone.. Our main server however was very nice and helpful.

We got a table right next to the windows overlooking the canal or whatever it was. Cool! Ambiance I suppose. The service was attentive and accurate. She gave plenty of recommendations which we took. The server was friendly and sweet. We got the fish bites based on the reviews here, and glad we did, because they were so good! Totally recommend. I decided on the Kalbi - loooove Kalbi--- it was excellent and plentiful. It's going to be tough not getting this each time. Tony partner got the catch of the day special and he said it was very good, but not enough food, so if you're extra hungry perhaps get something more hearty. But, it was very tasty with a very light panko crust over garlic polenta I believe. The desert, as stated in the reviews, was so good. We got the guava cheesecake. Delicious.
