I have to tell you this place is not good for me and my health. The food is excellent and that is the problem. Everything I've tried on the menu has been excellent and I never say that. I was a cook at one time worked at many places so you come to terms with what is ok, good and perfect. I don't know what to say other than you must go here. There were 13 people in our party. We were greeted with smiles and seated quickly. The menu is amazing. As soon as orders were taken the bread started arriving. And then more bread. The servers were awesome and saw that our water glasses were full and we were well supplied with bread. Then the salads! They were amazing. No skimping there! Then the FOOD!! Everyone absolutely swooned over their choice. We were stuffed, but we had to have a fabulous dessert! As we were paying our servers, everyone in our group was heard to be saying we'll be back. Food was excellent and the service was even better. They are always friendly and always there to refill your drinks before you even ask. We came here for a nephew's birthday from out of town and he was very impressed with the quality and service as well. Finally an Italian place that can do both service and good food. Hard to find. My only gripe and reason for not placing 5 stars, which is not directly the fault of the restaurant but likely the lack of enforcement, is the amount of customers that smoke right outside the restaurant doors. We went to celebrate our anniversary and both left so disappointed with the food and experience. Service was underwhelming, not very friendly and SO slow, made us feel like an inconvenience. Food was mediocre at best; even the bread sucked. Spaghetti carbonara was way over salted, we couldn't even eat it. Overall a total disappointment. Atmosphere and friendly staff were apparently off tonight. Plain and simple. This is probably the worst Italian food I have ever had. The pasta has no flavor and is then over sauced. The best thing we had was a pesto angel hair pasta and it still lacked in flavor. The pizza tasted like it was frozen or Papa Murphy's (the kind you grow up eating when you are left home alone) The crust was super soft in the middle and the toppings had an odd taste (almost spoiled). The quality for the price is absurd. We went here because of the reviews and will definitely not be returning or recommending. The food was average at best, they load their dishes with tons of pasta and flavors are there, but the reason I am giving this one star is because the owner is a real piece of work. Very rude to other customers around us and he even made a snarky comments to us. Let me explain this rating as this small business had a true opportunity to be great. Stopped in on Mother's Day and the atmosphere was cool as they had televisions throughout with sports on display and pictures of....on the walls. We didn't realize that there were specials for the day until we heard another server telling another table about them. When our server returned she listed what they were. The server brought bread to the table which was warm and the Cesar salad was decent. I went ahead and order the Chicken Marsala, which the nice server said was a popular dish and came highly recommended for obvious reasons. The flavor of the sauce and pasta itself was next level, enough so that I would give this place a 4 based on the taste had the following not occurred. A little over half way through eating my entree I notice a piece of hair in the pasta so I stopped eating it to bring it to the servers attention. She saw it and immediately advised the owner who was standing right there...turn of events and this is where it went downhill, quick, fast, and in a hurry. The owner comes to the table and talks to us casually at first prior to addressing the problem, which was not an issue at all had to build rapport with us, I get it. That being said he looks at my plate after I show him the small piece of hair. He indicated that all of his cooks are wearing hair nets and what I am looking at is probably a piece of the mushroom and picks across my plate until he hides the small piece of hair. Then he asks me to show him what I am talking about (instead of asking me from the beginning and picking across my plate) as I was adamant it was not part of a mushroom and looked like an eyelash of some sort. Following the chain of events that occurred he asks me if 50/50 sounds good? He pays half and I pay half. I simply responded, "Whatever you think." As a customer I should not have to negotiate with you. I am not there on business to negotiate deals, I am there for a product and service. As a manager in operations there are various ways that situation can be resolved, as it easy to speak on from the outside looking in or from my point of view. However, I would not pick across my consumers plate and then try to negotiate with them I would simply comp the meal AND/OR simply apologize and make them a new one. Granted he did make an effort by offering a small dessert. Nonetheless, the owner can definitely do better with handling such situations as it has taken away from the overall potential and experience I had. read more

We had a great experience eating in the dining room room for dinner. I'm a restaurant red sauce connoisseur from Buffalo. This place didn't disappoint. We had plates of pasta, chicken parm, meatballs - the works. All delicious. The service was super friendly and definitely you can tell the place is family run, which I truly enjoy. We had such a great in restaurant dining experience I couldn't wait to try their pizza on a different occasion. We got the pizza takeout and I was very impressed that they actually opened the box for each pie and had me look at it to make sure the order was right and the pizzas looked ok, how nice is that? When we got home and tried the pizzas I have to say that I wasn't wowed. The sauce was good, the toppings were tasty, the pizzas were cooked well - it was the crust that just wasn't a pizza tasting crust. It tasted more like bread. I have to sayat i So, definitely will be back for their nice entrees but will be skipping the pizza in the future. read more

Another Italian restaurant review. We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. We got to the restaurant at about 6 PM. They do not take reservations for parties less than 5 people. A little bit of an inconvenience. It took about 45 minutes for us to be seated. The owner and the staff were very friendly and provided outstanding service. I ordered the lasagna with meat sauce, and my wife ordered the chicken parmesan. They were both outstanding. The bill came out to around $35 with no drinks other than water. The meal came with either a soup or side salad and oven fresh bread was also served the meal. Exactly what you would expect and want from a quality Italian restaurant. read more

Our New Years Eve party of 10 had a wonderful time at Baci. First a few had a drink the bar. All 10 of us arrived before our reservation and Baci was able to seat us early. Joanna too care including 5 separate checks. We had everything ranging from gluten free pizza and pasta to sandwiches and seafood pasta. Wow, all great and 5 of us took food home. First time here. Came on a Saturday night. We are from out of state and were staying in the area so figured we'd try it out. Our server was very kind, and (I believe it was the owner) was also very friendly. Waited for about 20ish minutes to be seated. Service was a bit slow. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. I had gnocchi with Alfredo sauce and chicken, ($20) the sauce was nice and not over powering taste so I appreciated that and the chicken was also pretty good. Wife has the Pasta al fresco with chicken ($18) as well and she seemed to enjoy it. We didn't have any drinks or appetizers so the bill was $38 +Tax. We will likely comeback when in the area again and feel like Italian. read more

Not impressed. We had reservations and still had to wait. When we entered the main dining area there was plenty of tables. So I do not know why we had to wait. Seemed like poor management. Food was ok. I had the seafood combo. I could definitely tell the seafood was previously frozen. Not a great deal of seafood. We have enjoyed dinner at Baci twice now and always liked the meals we ordered. Today we ordered Catering trays for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My entire family loved it! We especially loved the chicken parmesan and meatballs! I would highly recommend the catering trays. We always love to support local and family owned restaurants. We will definitely order catering trays for our future celebrations. Oh and don't forget the chocolate cake slice. Even my daughter who doesn't like chocolate LOVES the chocolate cake. Long way from Italy at least New Jersey gets it right. Bruschetta was terrible. Service was marginal. Server refilled cups and did not bring back any straws. At 4pm servers walking around in a dazed and confused. In the middle of the order servers were changed. When the new server asked could she help us I began to give the order but she forgot her order book. Did I mention we were the only ones on there at the time. Ordered Calamari and the Combo Platter. The Calamari was cold, dry and rubbery. The Combo platter all tasted the same like burnt breading. Still trying to get the taste out of my mouth. Ate a few bites and stopped I will pay for it later on the throne. With that being said I'm not impressed. YMMV so if adventurous try them out I will not return. read more

The food is very good and similar to my family's Italian recipes so they know what they're doing with Italian food. Service was prompt and helpful. The ambiance is very Italian. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because the women's bathroom changing table is too close to the door. I got smashed into by the door as someone came into the bathroom. I would've been hit a second time had I not moved to the side to grab something out of my bag. I brought this up to the manager who handled the situation well. He said he was sorry it happen, asked if I and my baby were okay, and he plans to fix the situation by moving the table. I appreciate how he handled the situation and look forward to the improvement. in the past been there several times, but the last time i was there was in 2019 with my wife who unfortunately has passed since. we left a 1 star review as the prior owner was very rude, disrepectful, dishonerable to a veteran friend of ours and to us; he was very condecending and in plain english just a true definiton of a douchebag. wait time was quoted at 45 min and we did not get in after waiting 1.5 hours!!! he was favoring friends who came in after us that had no reservations; it was made very obvious. we left but made it clear to him he will suffer the consequences; karma works! glad he sold! i had boycotted baci since but was told by friends it has turned a 180 and improved tremendously. have not been back yet but planning to. i hope we are not dissapointed. i gave 3 stars for now based on my prior poor customer experience and what i hear now. hope to give 5 stars in the near future. read more

My wife and I have been San Tan Valley/ Queen Creek residents for 2 decades and finally went to Baci on August 13th for our 19th wedding anniversary. It was a Saturday night and there was a 30 minute wait for a table. We found out that we could take a table in the bar area and avoid the wait time. Our server "Ro" was fantastic. She made us so welcome and appreciated. Our food was fantastic. I ordered the Seafood Basil Pomodoro, it was loaded with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and clams in a seafood red sauce - muy fantastico! My wife loved her food as well, and the portion size was incredible. We connected and laughed with "Ro" throughout the the whole meal and at the end she brought us two mini cannoli with a "Happy Anniversary" message written on the plate with icing. It was a wonderful surprise! We have an upcoming birthday event, so we went again tonight with my wife's sister and husband so they could experience the same same thing we did. As expected, everything was fantastic. Our server tonight was Esmerelda- she was attentive, accommodating, and had a great sense of humor. Everyone felt the food, portion size, service, and atmosphere was top notch. Gary, the owner, stopped by the table to check on our experience and we had a very nice conversation. One of the things they do - which you do not see any more- is that they pack up the to-go boxes for you, we think that is a really nice touch. Here is the oddest thing: my wife asked the bus girl, while she was boxing up our leftovers, "doesn't this feel like family here?' She said "no and, I do not like working here and and do not eat here" She said it was the only job she could get at 15 years of age and now, a year later, she is still there working Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. She said there there were things going on in the kitchen that she does not agree with - not really sure what that meant. I will report that everyone at our table was aghast at her announcement. None of us felt like there was any reason for concern regarding the quality of the food, the service, and when we left at 6:30 PM on a Monday night the lobby was full and there were people waiting outside for their chance to get their table and enjoy some fantastic hand-crafted Italian food. read more

Baci has gone downhill after the recent management change last year. The food used to be great, but the last time were there with friends, the food was horrible and the service was subpar. I had ordered the Veal Parmigiana, which used to be quite good. This time it was overcooked, dry, and tough. When I complained to the waitress she was less than friendly and begrudgingly brought over the manager who was also quite rude. When he asked if I wanted another entree, I told him I would rather be comped for the bad food. His response to my surprise was no, but he would credit me $5.00 (this was a $20+ entree) for the veal that was overcooked! My response was this is the last time you will see me in this restaurant. We have never been back since that time. There are many great Italian restaurants in the Queen Creek, Mesa. and Gilbert but Baci is not one of them! read more

This place hit the spot!! Man I miss good home cook Italian food and that is what this is. Great atmosphere and awesome and friendly staff. It is kind of tucked away from the main traffic but it is worth finding. The sauces are freshly made to order the bread is fresh and the pasta is delicious. I hade the chicken parmesan sandwich and it was filling. My son had their pizza which I had a bite, which turned into more than that, and the sauce is great their is a cornmeal crunch on the bottom that I haven't had in years. My wife got the creamy marcella pasta and she said it tasted like her grandmother's from when she was a kid. Go there it is worth it!! read more
