Fragola (4 stars) was a refreshing strawberry sorbet, which was a nice contrast to the richer chocolaty flavors I chose. The service (4 stars) was good. They were eager to help and offered samples. If you are new and not familiar with the selection like myself, you'll have to move around other people to get a better glimpse of the flavor names and description. Guest and I opted for the minimal amount of poison, with my selection being the one that allows you to at least halfway escape reality, that being the 60% cocao offering-and the smallest one at that. I finally made it to Bacio de Latte. We came on Saturday night after we had dinner at Planta. I had a small cup with half pistachio and half hazelnut--it was the perfect combination. We've been to this Bacio di Latte multiple times. We enjoy Bacio di Latte as a chain. However, today we had a bad encounter with the staff. It started when we were helped by Lisa. Or more like not helped. We asked for three cups of water, and she said she would give them to us when we checked out, but I was thirsty before getting samples. After that, we asked for samples. When we both asked for the same flavor, she only handed us one spoon, expecting us to share the sample. Upon clarifying that we each wanted our own sample, she started lessening the amounts of ice cream in the samples to the point that we couldn't even taste the flavor. This went on for multiple flavors. Bacio di Latte is usually really generous with samples and serving sizes. Our ice cream cups were about half their normal size. At the end, when we went to check out, she still did not bring the water. After I asked a third time for water, she proceeded to give us water in the smallest cups when they usually put water in medium cups. The other customers were given bigger ice cream scoops than us. Solomon was also being kind, even though he was not our server. Don't know what we did to piss Lisa off, but she shouldn't work here, to be honest. It's a little pricier for filling the ice cream cravings but it's worth every penny and calorie. They do offer free samples and are very kind/patient. This is some of the best gelato that I have had in the United States. Not only are the flavors incredible but I didn't feel super full or sick the night of or day after eating it. You can tell everything is made from high-quality ingredients and the flavors really last long after you finish eating them. It's located in a small strip mall in Marina del Rey by the water and there is plenty of free parking right in front. They don't really have tables on the inside, and it's fairly small so can't have more than a dozen or so people it in at a time. It's a get in line and get it to-go type of place but the line moves fast even though there are a lot of flavor options to choose from. For this visit, I chose one of their new specials, which was the Buttercream & Pretzel and combined that with Salted Caramel. I thought both were fantastic and I would definitely get both of them again. They have many different types of fruitier and more chocolatey options so next time I'm gonna try something completely different. I would highly recommend and will be back many times. read more

Notes: - The line goes incredibly slowly. Because you can't really see any of the ice cream selections until you get to the actual front due to the way the shop is laid out, so people dawdle around looking at the flavors and asking to taste some. This is a very slow process, and for those of us who are more conscientious it makes you want to rush your order choice as well. - The amount of ice cream is quite small. I got a "normal" which I believe is two scoops and I was finished with it by the time I got back to my car. - The price is quite high. $10-11 for an ice cream cone. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, its in a cute shopping plaza on the Marina with so much to do, this just adds to the fun. I asked about all the Affogato options and Rory was so happy to explain witch ones got good reviews from the customers and which ones he liked the best. Bacio Di Latte is my favorite gelato in LA. I find my self always coming back! The ice cream is so creamy, milky, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a treat. Even though the line was long, it moved super fast, and the workers were so friendly and welcoming. The space itself was really clean, and I loved that I could try all the flavors before deciding. Each chocolate flavor tasted completely unique, which was such a fun surprise. I usually get the stracciatella at their Larchmont location, but this time I went for the three chocolates--and wow, I think I've found a new favorite. The portions are pretty generous, too; I got the small cup and still felt full. I'm so glad they added this spot right next to Sugarfish.
