Jeni's is still one of my favorite ice cream stops in LA, so we swung by after lunch nearby for an easy dessert moment. Vibe / Interior: This location sits inside a small indoor shopping area surrounded by other stores, and it has that signature fun, colorful Jeni's look. Bonus: they make fresh waffle cones, and the smell alone will convince you to order one. My go-to flavors: Brambleberry Crisp and chocolate. Brambleberry is famous for a reason--sweet-tart berry jam + buttery oat crumble vibes in every bite. If you're in their rewards program, you can get free ice cream on your birthday, which feels like the cutest little treat. Service: The staff was friendly and patient (appreciated because I always want to sample a few flavors before committing). Good For: A quick grab-and-go dessert. Super fun to grab a cone and stroll the area--especially on Saturday farmers market days. Price / Value: It's definitely a "treat yourself" moment--expect around $6-$15 depending on size. If you're really craving it, a pint can be the move. Parking: There's a paid parking structure nearby with a free first hour, but we usually find street parking and walk over. Pro Tip: If you don't want a full cone, ask for a little waffle cone triangle piece--it's the perfect add-on crunch without committing to the whole thing.

Maybe I'm biased as my name is Jen. But this is one of my favorite ice creams. I'm from Oregon so we don't have a store, I can only get it from the grocery store so when I was looking up ice cream shops in the area I saw this and knew I had to go. There's a ton of different flavors and some I haven't seen before so it was nice to try them. There's ice cream shop was a little tucked back so just know if you're looking for it, you have to go into the mall thing and behind the shops. Service is quick and friendly. The confusing part was the half scoops on the menu. (they were not half scoops just scoops but called half???)

Really loved my mint vegan ice cream. The line moved fast and they were generous with samples. It was in a mall with a bunch of good other businesses.

Food: 4.1/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value: 3.4/5 I thought the ice cream tasted good and the service was pleasant, but I can't get past the fact that the amount of ice cream they gave us was so minimal and still costed almost $10. Other ice cream shops in the area all give almost twice the amount of ice cream for the same cost. The ice cream itself was good though! I personally preferred the gooey butter cake over the texas sheet cake but that's just because I prefer the creamier type of ice cream! If you're looking for unique flavors, definitely take your time trying all that you might be interested in!

Current favorite is the seasonal Caramel Apple Crumble. I stopped in to get a pint of the Bramble Berry, and decided to sample the new flavor not expecting to really like it because I'm not big on apple flavors. Oh, but this Caramel Apple crumble is so good. It literally tastes like crisp, fresh picked apples. The tartness of what I'm assuming is green apple compliments the sweetness of the other apple flavors, combined with the caramel and the crunchy oat crumble. It's so satisfying, the pints keep selling out! This is truly a perfect fall delight. Hopefully it will be around for at least a few weeks.

Unique and delicious ice cream! Jeni's has been on my list for a while now, so I'm glad I've finally tried it and it did not disappoint! I ordered a Standard with Miso Butterscotch and Gooey Butter Cake, which were so good and sweet. They allowed me to sample multiple flavors, and everything was delicious that it was hard to just choose 2 flavors. Staff were super nice and friendly. Will definitely have to come back and try other flavors!

I love this complex, and I love all the cute little shops. Jeni's is no exception, with all these magical ice creams. Brown butter almond brittle has a nutty finish, and iced molasses gingerbread conjures warm fires and candy houses. I'm a sucker for anything cake-flavored, and the buttercream birthday cake is very buttercream-y. They're called splendid ice creams because they are. The flavors have a whimsy to them, and every bite holds a little bit of (very sugary) magic.

I love this place! My friend took me here. I love that you get half scoops and can have different flavors. The ice cream is delicious. Each flavor I got the perfect amount of Peanut Butter and chocolate bits, Dark chocolate fudge, & the Root Beer Float was perfect! The service was amazing. So friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

    The location in Playa Vista

The ice cream was awesome. Had the Signature in a waffle bowl. Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks, and Honey Vanilla Bean were my flavors. Connor helped me and was very courteous. Was able to sample flavors. Very good experience. Enjoyed the location in Playa Vista.

I'm a fan of Jeni's ice cream and am always excited to try flavors as they show up in my local supermarket. But it's especially cool to find one of their growing number of scoop shops nearby to try flavors that might be only in-shop. This location is tucked in the unique "Free Market" retail center not far from L.A.X. that feels sort of like a cross between an upscale mall and a museum...so it just feels cool to be in there. It wasn't crowded at all when we were there late-ish on a Saturday night so we were served quickly and they were more than happy to give us all the samples we want. Jen's ice cream is delicious with just the right balance between iciness and creaminess to make for the perfect ice cream on my palate. Plus the unique flavor offerings are miles above what you can get at a more conventional scoop shop. They're indulgent and delicious. If you like ice cream, creative things,, and have never been to Jeni's...definitely give it a try!

Obsessed with Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and had to get some after lunch. I always make it a point to stop by when I'm in the area. This location is mostly grab and go. Service is always friendly and quick. The area smells so good from all the fresh waffles! Ordered the Study (4 mini scoops) of brambleberry crisp, super moon, gooey butter cake, and birthday cake. Everything tasted super rich and creamy. Can't wait to come back and try some of the newer flavors! This is the one ice cream shop where I can confidently say that all flavors sound good on paper but they also actually taste good!

Things happen, but this business stands by its product! Ben reached out, got details to send to staff and corporate and sent voucher for a new pint. Original post RESOLVED: We've come here since it opened, mainly for cones and have always been pleased with the ice cream. Two days ago, the service was just as friendly and the venue was as clean and organized as ever, but my ice cream was a sad experience. There weren't samples, but their other dairy free flavors had been good. The Cold Brew with Coconut Cream was a pint of ice that was crunchy, stale tasting and seemed to have been melted and refrozen more than once.

    Patricia D.

The delicious smell of waffles will lead you to this hidden gem. PJ and Virginia were holding it down during my visit! They were so kind and so knowledgeable! There wasn't a line when I arrived but large groups would come in waves craving ice cream. Their flavors are clean and distinct, not like other ice cream brands that taste muddled. I sampled a handful of flavors which made deciding a challenge. All their chocolate flavors were delicious! I decided on their darkest chocolate flavor. It was so luscious and not overly sweet. It is difficult for me to find a good chocolate ice cream. I also loved their Brambleberry Crisp and Gooey Butter Cake! Even though this location is smaller, it was clean and so welcoming! There was plenty of seating areas and I was protected from the freezing cold area. I'll be coming back!

So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.
