We had a late night dinner after a huge graduation ceremony. They didn't take reservations but we were still able to get in. Outside table on the patio under the lights on a warm Night was the presence. I had a 1/2 Kale Pecan salad which was still generous in size for 1 person. Had a great lunch after the Tucson book fair. This is the second year we have enjoyed the food here. Our server was Adrian who was very friendly and offered suggestions for wine and food selections. We had an amazing dinner at Bacio recently. We had appetizers, champagne, and main dishes, followed by tiramisu for dessert. Appetizers were calimari and arrancini, both of which were excellent. Mains ordered were fettuccini Alfredo, pasta pomodoro with salmon, and chicken pesto pizza. Again, everything was delicious. The tiramisu was superb. We had a wonderful time here when in town visiting the U of A. We had the pleasure of having the owner and his brother as our hosts/servers. They were both delightful and super nice. You can tell they love what they do here. A friend recommended this place to us for some great Italian food and it was great. We each had something different (see receipt) and everyone loved their dish. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara which was excellent! Very filling and sprinkled with pieces of lean pancetta. I had to eat the rest the next day as this was very satisfying. The owner took the time to speak to the people at the tables and even offered us some chilled homemade Limoncello at the end. It was pretty darned good. They offer a selection of Gelato at the front counter that looked very tempting but we were all too full to partake and promised we would return another day for that treat. Everyone here practiced social distancing due to the pandemic and there was available outdoor seating if desired. Give this place a try when in the area, you won't be sorry. After years of eating everywhere in this Zip Code while on business, I was surprised when my Marriott front desk clerk's face lit up about the new Bacio. Right next door, this has a great upscale italian bistro vibe and the food is off the hook. Night 1 the Chicken Parm was outstanding and unique, and huge. Night 2 the Veal Marsala was perfect. A nice little wine list was an unexpected treat too. This team has got it going on and everybody is customer-centric. In town for a couple days and tried this amazing little Italian restaurant, so glad we did!!! We had the Caesar salad- which was extremely tasty and super traditional! We also had the Spaghetti and Meatballs as well as the Aloha Hawaiian pizza- both were delicious- but the pizza was our favorite!! Perfect crust and toppings!! Our waiter- Alex- or Alejandro- was perfectly attentive and we were super impressed with the great service!! For dessert the gelato was super yummy! I have mixed feelings about this place, because it does have some good qualities but also some lacking ones. First off the service was alright not bad but not great. The location and atmosphere is pretty nice, but the menu is lacking options for sure. The food was hit and miss. The chicken parm was amazing sooo good probably one of the best i had. The pasta that came with it though was cooked perfectly, but the flavor was a bit bland and not saucy enough if that makes sense. The pizza was alright as well not great not bad just ok. My daughter got spaghetti and hers was also cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of sauce and flavor. So im not sure why the others weren't like that as well. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately I was let down. My boyfriend and I walked in on a Thursday night before a UA basketball game, figuring it would be busy, but we were sat right away and there were only about five other tables seated. We'd walked up, unsure of where to stand to be seated, and waited a minute or so before someone in the kitchen yelled out, "Have you been helped?" and then someone came up to seat us. Our server was friendly and helped us decide what to order after we let her know we only had about 45 minutes before we needed to head to the game. This is where it gets disappointing. She brought us the waters we asked for, which were served very warm with no ice, plus an unpleasant chemically flavor. I expect warm water in Europe, but in Tucson? Not typical nor pleasant. We asked our server for a cup of ice, which she brought a few minutes later, and that helped the situation. We each ordered a drink, the Porch Sipper and the Moscow mule. The drinks were fine -- nothing special for $7 and $8 each, but they were tasty and preferable to the water. We started with the fried mozzarella bites. The portion is generous and the marinara dipping sauce is pretty flavorful, but the bites were really soggy and not crispy at all. The fried coating fell apart when I picked them up and took a bite. The flavor was nice and garlicky, and the mozzarella tasted good, albeit maybe a little too salty (which means something coming from me, a salt fiend). But they just weren't crispy. It was just like eating a ball of mozzarella with some coating on the outside. No crunch whatsoever. They tasted good, but I wouldn't call them fried. We also ordered the Bologna pizza, which comes with red sauce, mozzarella and meatball. It was so, so cheesy, which might sound like a good thing, but it's not. I couldn't even taste the sauce. And when I went to take a slice and put it on my plate, half the cheese slid off. The abundance of mozzarella made it so we had to eat the slices with a fork and knife; it didn't hold its own at all. Also, the crust was bland. The meatballs and mozzarella both had good flavor, but the pizza itself was very poorly executed. We each only ate one slice because it was so heavy with all the cheese. We asked our server if we could take it to-go, and she brought out one regular square styrofoam box... for four slices of pizza. I'm not sure if she expected us to stack them on top of each other and have them stick together due to all that cheese? Why not a pizza box? It was very strange, and we had to wait until she came back around to ask for an additional styrofoam box for the rest of the slices. We noticed as we were putting the slices in the to-go box how unevenly the pizza was cut (see photos). Two of the slices were double the size of the rest. My boyfriend used to work at a pizza place on 4th Ave., and he said that type of poor cutting would've never flown there -- it would've needed to be recut or remade. The total came to about $40 for two cocktails, the mozzarella app and a pizza. This would be a pretty good deal if the food were better. I would consider coming back to try the gelato or gelato cocktails, which seem fun and different. But I don't plan to try the food again. read more

We had the Caprese salad and cheesy garlic bread for starters because they were out of all other appetizers. The garlic bread was cold and lacked flavor. The salad was OK, nothing special. We then ordered the chicken marsala for the entrée. When we got it it literally looked like someone had vomited in the plate. The chicken was over cooked, and cold. The Alfredo, the sauce was pretty good, the added salmon portion was pretty small and slightly overcooked. The calamari was tasty and better than a lot of places I've had calamari. I went here on a Saturday night with my friends and was very impressed. They sat us quickly and brought waters instantly. The staff was very welcoming. Then they brought free gelato shots for us to try (we are all over 21). The shots were amazing and tasted like blue raspberry gelato. We ordered 2 antipasto platters and were very impressed with both. They came with a great assortment of cheeses, meats, fruits, and olives. I had the firenze pizza and loved it. The ingredients just tasted fresh and the cheese on it was so delicious. The crust tasted like fresh baked bread but was also still a little crispy. I really enjoyed it. This place just opened a few weeks ago right at the U of A's Main Gate. Luckily for me it's walking distance from my house. I've already been once for pizza at lunch, once for dinner and once just for Gelato. The place is solid. Pizza crust is great... light crunch, not dripping with grease like too many other places nearby. Then I had the Chicken Parm.. it was tender and had enough Cheese/Sauce without smothering the whole plate. Finally a gelato that was 1/2 Tiramisu and 1/2 Peanut Butter Cup. Where do I start?! This place is in the perfect location. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating for a wonderful dining experience. The customer service was top tier. They made me feel welcome from the waitress, to the bartender, to the owner. I liked that the owner was in the kitchen helping get the orders out and occasionally checking on everyone to make sure everything was good. I had the Alla Vodka spaghetti with shrimp and the blue grotto and mango margarita to drink. I might have to steal Andrew for a few events because he knows what he's doing behind the bar.
