Cheap, good food and large portions. Beer selection is good, and nicely priced as well. Friday night is the best night to go (and the only night to get the fish). But also the busiest time to go. If you hit the dinner rush, expect to wait 30-45 minutes for a table. Parking can be a bit of a pain as well. There is a lot, but unless you get lucky it will be full. There is on-street parking but watch out of the one way and dead ends. Also worth noting, they are not open very late and they are closed on Sundays. The food is great and the portions are large. Inexpensive for the quality and amount if food you get. Extensive beer menu. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The only reasons I have it 4/5 instead of 5/5 are: 1. While their are booths, a lot of the seatin is large tables that they seat multiple parties at. This isn't for everyone. 2. There is no better place in the entire Beaver Valley for beer selection and massive bar food portions. The sandwiches and burgers are yuge. The wing sauces are absolutely delicious and homemade. The beer pricing is also the most competitive around. The BDT has been doing the craft beer list longer than anyone else in the area and it becomes clear when you spend time there. Every bartender is knowledgeable and ready to help you make beer selections (TJ is superb). To top it off, it has wonderful family ownership. The atmosphere is more of ole neighborhood pub. No loud obnoxious music and definitely not a bro-culture bar. There's enough tv's for the big games, but it doesn't dominate the environment. The best burger I've ever had in my life and one of the best beer selections you'll ever see. I order the Backdoor Burger every time I visit this fine restaurant and it's by far the most amazing burger I've ever eaten in my life. It's a half-pound of meaty goodness that I will proudly contribute to my veins clogging. The burger is always cooked to perfection and the bun compliments it perfectly. You can pile on whatever condiments and veggies you want at no extra price and it just adds to the perfection of what's known as the Backdoor Burger. The fries are a bit over-seasoned, but after eating a pound of burger, i can't even eat the fries anyways. I tried the fish sandwich twice in the last several weeks and both times found it to be very distasteful. I love fish and have been eating fish sandwiches most of my adult life so I feel I can tell a good sandwich from a bad one. The size of the fish is 5 star but it goes downhil from there. The fish is not very flavorful and the breading although not overdone, appear to have been subjected to a microwave. I believe they are made early and then microwved for heating purposes. Also the buns have a funny taste to them that I would not believe the average customer would cherish. I will make one disclaimer that the fish were takeouts and not eaten for about 1 1/2 aftee the purchase. My friends and I attempted to eat here yesterday (Saturday). My boyfriend and I were having lunch with another couple. My boyfriend and I arrived first. We walked into an empty lobby (no one else was waiting) and we were told by the hostess that we could not be seated at a table until our entire party had arrived! I thought this was really strange because the dining room was clearly not full, and had we been seated we would have ordered beers right away. It seems to me that a business would be better off having their patrons sitting at a table spending money rather than sitting idle and clogging up the lobby, but whatever. My bf and I sat and waiting for the rest of our party. 15 mins later they arrived. Once they arrived the hostess was nowhere to be found. We literally waited another 15 mins in the lobby while numerous waitresses (AND the bartender from the bar upstairs) walked by us without asking us if we needed to be seated. FINALLY, the original hostess that told us we had to wait (she might have been a waitress too?) came back and told us they were clearing off a table, so we waited another 5 mins and were seated. So by now, my bf and I had been waiting for a half hour to spend money in this establishment, when--if we had been seated--this would already have gotten underway. I again want to state here that the dining room was only half full. We were greeted promptly by a waitress that handed us menus and told us she would return to get our drink orders. She didnt even give us a chance to say "no need to wait, for the love of God give us a beer!". She just dropped menus and walked. We then waited another 15 minutes while she and numerous other waitresses walked past us, cleaned off tables, and waited on OTHER tables before we got tired of sitting there and being ignored. We were at the point where none of us wanted to give this place a penny of our money and all of us walked out. Being that we were going to have lunch AND purchase beers this place lost out on $100 easy because of their staff's lack of service. I also want to say that I think their rule of having to have your entire party at the restaurant before you will be seated is ridiculous. Perhaps at peak times its reasonable (I dont know how busy they get) but when the restaurant is half full, you want your patrons to spend money, not sit in a lobby.
