Ive bought a table fro.them...might be buying some of the stained glass they have for my building. Anyway...back to "the Back Porch" it has several small tables to sit and dine at or just take a break. They serve sandwiches...drinks...that kind of stuff. Ive rate there and its quite tasty. This was my first time visiting, and I immediately loved the cozy, homey atmosphere. It felt welcoming the moment we walked in. I ordered the "Fill Your Basket", I chose a turkey sandwich, soup, garden salad, and hummingbird cake. It was a great value and the perfect amount of food. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The hummingbird cake was a wonderful sweet finish! Service was excellent from start to finish, especially considering our group size. Who knew sandwiches made in home decor shops tasted so good? The outdoor seating has a beautiful lakeside scenery. However the inside looks like a fancy tea party. It's nice, but not for people like me. The employees were super nice at explaining their interesting ordering system. You get the menu where you write your table number, choose what you want, give it to them at the front counter, and they give you a picnic basket with your food. We both ordered from their minimal menu (which is a great thing to behold), as well as the ever-changing daily soup, salad and dessert. My family did a girls trip out here to eat and shop. I had never been here before and I was not disappointed! Starting with the drive up everything outside is adorable and was decorated for fall and Christmas. There was lots of parking available and it was busy but not overcrowded on a Saturday morning. To order here you grab a menu and fill it out at your table where they have pencils set out for you. Write your table number on top and then mark what items you want to eat and then bring it up to a cashier. The service was quick and everyone was so friendly. They have a great deal for $10.99 and it comes with a sandwich, a soup, salad and dessert. Lunches are served in the cutest little basket to your table and there is quite a variety to choose from. I had the beef sandwich that was made with a horsey sauce and French dressing and it was so so good! The tomato soup was delicious and the pasta salad was yummy too. I loved the carrot cake as it was moist and had a great flavor. It was the perfect amount of food and I loved being able to taste so much of the menu. Shopping is available in the restaurant but also at the other 3-4 stores on property. The only downfall of this place is I was hoping for some local made Christmas decor. read more

A very cozy and cute place. I found out about it via a foodie video on Facebook so my sister, Mum, and I made the trek from Tampa to see it. It is a truly special place. The concept of having a little basket delivered to you with goodies sold me! You get a sheet of paper, circle what you want, and then hand it off. They bring it all out to you once it's ready. Such a cute spot in a rural setting. This was my first time here. My friend selected this place for a Witches Day Out themed event for Halloween. I had never heard of this place before so I'm glad she picked this spot. Since we had a large group, they had roped off a section of the back porch for our party and even had fans placed out for us. Thankfully, it was a comfortable day outside with Fall around the corner. There is a nice view of the lake out on the porch deck. We saw fish, turtles, birds and even a baby gator. You place your order by checking off a double-sided paper menu. Prices were very reasonable, for food and drink. Take the menu and pay at one of 2 registers, inside or out. Food was brought out promptly afterwards in a white rectangular box. I noticed other reviews talked about baskets. Not sure if the cardboard boxes are used now due to COVID or if it is just a change they made. Either way, it works. I liked the simple aspect of it all. The food portions were sufficient. Not too much and not too little for me. I am usually a big eater but was satisfied. I ordered the sandwich, side and dessert for $7.97. The daily special had a Festive Chicken Salad on the menu so I went with that. It was basically their chicken salad sandwich with a little more oomph. It added apples, cranberries and a couple other things, which added interesting texture and flavor. The potato salad was good too. I went with the dessert of the day, which was peanut butter chocolate explosion. It was tasty but didn't knock my socks off, still good though. Enjoyed both the frozen sangria and the frozen peach bellini. Out of the 2 that I tasted, I preferred the sweetness of the peach. The owner was friendly and informative. He told us a little about the history of the place, with it being in his family since the early 60's I believe. It started with the antique store and added more from there. He was very accommodating to our group. Some ladies arrived a little late and the place closes at 4. Thankfully, he and his family live on the property and gave us extra time to finish our meals and take pictures at the many different photo shoot opportunities they have around their large property. Never felt rushed. Although it is a 45 minute drive for me, I need to make it out hrre again. Would love to look around the gift shop as I didn't make it in there this time around. read more

We've been here before, but we were back again with family. It's a fun drive into the country and is surrounded by antique and other stores for those who like to shop. The food is extremely reasonable, small portions and well made. It's a pretty big bargain for a chance to escape the high dollar touristy joints and spend some time outside of the city. You can dine in or out and the whole experience is fun. If you go, the menu can be confusing. The form they give you is the menu AND the order form. You will put your name on it, select the items you want and make sure your table number is written on it somewhere. When the food is done, they will bring everything in a box for you, to that table. There is a nice deck out back with fans and an appealing sitting area. There is an outdoor bar as well. Beer & wine available, possibly cocktails, didn't see bottles to know for sure. Drinks are self-serve with flavored iced teas (quite good, punchy) or soda fountain. "Picnic" menu. I don't want to base the review on what I had, but I would not get the veggie burger again, it was packaged and meh. Salad was tiny, but good, nice dressing, might be better to get one of the larger salad plates offered. Other sandwiches looked much more appealing. I ordered wrongly. We arrived and it was a seat yourself place, we got a table out back by the water. once we learned the rules on how to order our enjoyment started. it is a very simple place where you checked off what you want on the menu, bring it to the counter with your name and table number, pay for it and they bring your meal to the table. We went with a chicken salad on a croissant along with a grilled Chicken BLT. within 5 minutes of ordering they arrived at our table with 2 square picnic baskets with our sandwiches.
