Pappy's is a well established breakfast cafe with what I would call a dive bar attached. While I have heard rave reviews about the cafe side of things and the breakfast fare, this particular visit and review was in the tavern side. A no thrills, low lit space with your typical cheap seating, pull tabs, and regulars belly up. The bartender was attentive, greatly me as soon as I walked in, immediately asking my drink order. She bantered with the regulars during my entire visit (or was on her phone) but that didn't seem to interrupt her service. I ordered the "Sunrise Burger" which was highlighted on the menu as though it was a specialty. It was just okay. Burger wasn't seasoned but was cooked well. I enjoyed the hash browns on the burger with the charring around the edges adding some crunch. Bacon was cooked perfect as was the egg. Cheese could have been more melty. All and all a pretty standard bar burger. Probably won't be back for a burger anytime soon but definitely want to get back for breakfast.

We drive by this place all the time and noticed it's always busy so when we had a day we wanted to get breakfast out we stopped by. We were lucky to be seated pretty quickly and our waitress came over immediately to get our drink order. Since it was our first time there we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. Our waitress was very efficient covering the whole area. The food was fast and well cooked. I had an omelette my husband had eggs over easy. The hash browns and toast were both good. People were coming and going the whole time we were there around 8:30 am on a Friday. There are old pictures of the area and people on the walls. Tables were cleaned as people left. The only problem was the normal entrance wasn't open and everyone was going to that door first.

Pappy's skillet - the good: a lot of food at a reasonable price. Not so good: it's very greasy & the bacon was nowhere to be found

Home style cooking at its best. My family enjoys the small town feel of Pappys. They also sponsored our youth hockey teams.

Pour is in a little strip mall. They have added black curtains and some cozy seating areas from when we were here last. Nice updates. Our waitress was very accomdating until she got busy then we felt we were forgotten. We ordered the Drunken shrimp , bread with olive oil and the avocado toast to start with. The drunken shrimp is just as good as we remember the saffron sauce is sooooo good! but there were 3 of us sharing the apps and it only came with 2 crostini's we asked for a 3rd so we could each have one but little did we know that one very small skinny piece of bread had a $1.00 charge to it. The steak bites with their homemade blue cheese sauce was to die for melt in your mouth!! I even asked if we could buy some of the blue cheese sauce, she said no but that she would bring us another dish of it but she never did. My girlfriend ordered a cranberry mule drink, she was charged an extra $1.00 for the cranberry. We also ordered the goat cheese with sauces that were very delicious with an ample amount of crackers. We got the chocolate Ganache cake to share for dessert. But............ the waitress never took our empty dirty plates but showed up with the dessert with the mess on table, I asked for extra clean plates but she never brought them. Everything we ordered was very delicious, but as the night progressed our service got worse, we asked for the bill but she never came back to get our payment and we had questions my girlfriend walked it up to the bartender with our payments. 2 of us were paying cash and one a credit card and we were charged an extra fee of $5.18 for her using a credit card. That is when we saw the $1.00 charge for 1 piece 3/8" bread and the $1.00 for cranberry mule. Talk about nickel and diming. We would love to go back but unsure if I can get past some of these things. Also, now looking at the bill even closer, none of us had a mimosa and we were charged $8.95 for one.How did we miss that? All added up we paid $16.00 more than we should have. CRAZY!! Sadly, Don't know if I'll be back.

As you walk in to the place, it looks and feels like a post-round atmosphere. Most people are wearing their Titleist hats with tees sticking out the back and their freshly pressed slacks while talking about how they could have done better today. There are plenty of TV's to choose from showing sporting events relative to the season. Much like a sports bar, it also has some video games (Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, etc.) and pull tabs that support the locals. Although the atmosphere is somewhat generic, the food is great! They always have a lunch and dinner buffet for an affordable price. It ranges from soup and salad bar to pizza to wings to actual entrees. If however, you don't feel like gorging yourself after your round, their menu is equally as good. Some of my favorites include the Mango Habanero wings (bone in or out), the Chile Lime Tilapia Taco's and the Chicken Salad Croissant. Most sandwiches come with kettle chips and a fantastic sour cream and onion dip (any midwesterner will love this). If there is a disappointment to this place, it is the beer selection. Cheap, cheap and cheap. Not only in price, but in quality. Generally being a beer snob, I have to succumb to the 'lite' beer takeover. However, I don't have to empty my wallet while doing so. They do have a full bar for those who choose the stronger libations. Service is hit or miss. There are always a lot of X-factors. Often busy and properly staffed, the service is pretty good. At times it can be slow, but understandably slow with all of the retired men taking the time of the good looking servers. Stop it! It is getting creepy! I have had their brunch buffet. It is mediocre at best, but fairly affordable. (Not sure why this is of lesser quality than the regular menu/buffets...) They do host banquets and parties. Beautiful scenery in the banquet areas looking over the courses and green space, but food is on par with the brunch buffet. I am obviously going back. I think you should too. Whether you are golfing or not, it is a good place to hang out if you are into the golf crowd like I am.
