Abby from San Diego is 100% correct. Their billing practices are shady to be polite and it is all an upsell to squeeze money out of you. I was first put in to collections, then the statement amounts kept changing, I filed a complaint with BBB last year, I was contacting by their billing department promising my balance would be zero as I provided proof I paid. 6 months go by and I thought it was resolved. Now I get another bill in the mail. You have to leave a message with their billing department now as you cannot speak to a human no matter what time of day you call. I left several messages and I have not received a call back. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Via Facebook I got a 21 dollar offer to get x-rays and an exam. I am scheduled to go back next week to go over my results and start a treatment to be honest. I'm not sure what kind of treatment I would need as for the most part I don't feel many pain, but I thought this would be a good place to just check on my health especially my back, I've never been to a chiropractor and this place has it all. I am very curious to see what my results say. I do know during the exam I had a lot of knots and tension and I'm sure that's all from lifting weights. The staff was very friendly. I will say they do message a lot to confirm appointments so I'm not sure if callouts it's just a big thing that happens. They also have a bunch of different activities going on for the holidays which kind of makes it fun. read more

This place felt very sales-y to me - essentially how many services can they hook you for. The care given was fine-nothing spectacular but fine. My biggest gripe is that I went there three times in March of 2023 with the last date of service being 03/13/2023. I have insurance. Now 20 MONTHS LATER, I have received my first bill from them that was dated on 11/15/2024. It's not a crazy amount and I will pay it but if a company can send a bill and expect payment within 6 months than I expect to be invoiced within 6 months which is plenty of time to deal with the back and forth with insurance. But this is just sloppy business practice. I understand by law in Arizona they have up to 6 years to collect payment but these are the sorts of poor practices that lose business so take note. read more

Had crazy back pain, that pretty much impacted every facet of life... be it work, spending time with my kids, or doing anything I actually enjoy. I didn't know where to turn to, and really couldn't put my finger on the problem. Brett and the entire team didn't disappoint. They took me in and ran a full diagnostic for way less than I would've expected. They found the problem and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I have nothing but good things to say about desert west. Dr. Pfeifle is awesome. He is detail oriented and walks you through everything he's doing. I love that he took the time to do my X-rays, and review them with me. He even explained how even the tiniest misalignment can effect the body and mind as well. Any question I've asked he answers throughly- I feel like I'm taking a class. It's evident that he really has a passion for helping people live a healthy life. My x-rays were pretty bad and he was honest with me (didn't try to sugar coat it), which was a big wake up call for me. I've seen a big improvement in my headaches, neck pain, and overall mental health. The process is as follows (if my memory serves me correctly) - set up initial consultation that includes X-rays and a review of those X-rays - Dr. P shows them to you and compares them to an X-ray of what it should be - he pulls up a skeleton and shows you what yours basically looks like and what it should look like -explains how this can affect your overall health -discusses a plan to get you on the right track -gives you your first adjustment Every visit includes an adjustment and some form of physical therapy (my least favorite part but it helps so much) He takes his work seriously. I've had conversation with friends and family who say their chiropractors don't do X-rays on them. This makes no sense to me.. how are they supposed to know if the therapy is even working? The cherry on top is the amazing staff! Crystal, Katelyn, and Elsa are lovely ! They are so personable and easy to talk to. They take the time to get to know you and show a genuine interest in your life. Katelyn even offered to dog sit for me! I highly recommend this practice to anyone. Even if you aren't experiencing intense symptoms, it's a good idea to still see a chiropractor regularly. read more

This place has done wonders with getting my back issues under control. It is early on, so there is a way to go. However, most of the pain I felt just by sitting is now gone. It still hurts to do things, but like I said, it is early on in the treatment. It is nice to go to 1 place to have everything done at once. Normally, this is a trip to a doctor, a trip to chiropractor and a trip to PT, often with days in between. Here, I get them all at once and know that they are coordinating the therapy and working together as a team. read more

This was my first ever visit to the chiropractor and I was a little nervous but Dr. Pfeifle did a great job easing my nerves by being very thorough in explaining information about the spine and what to expect prior to my adjustment. The check in process is fast and the front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. During the exam prior to doing an initial adjustment Dr. Pfeifle really took the time to listen to the issues I was having and the reason for my visit and took x-rays. During the actual adjustment session Dr. Pfeifle explained everything that he was about to do before doing it so there were no surprises. I did a follow up appointment the next day where Dr. Pfeifle reviewed my x-rays with me and together came up with the best plan for me. He was straight forward with the expected cost and what to expect with insurance if you are using it. Ease of scheduling appoints and working with your schedule is a plus as well. I've been going to this office for a little over a month now was diagnosed with scoliosis a severe case where my body was looking a little deformed. And the pain in my back would just bring me down. I'm now working again I have a very physical job and I'm able to do what I was doing before all this and working full 8 to 10 hours a day. I would recommend this place to everybody I know. My husband and I have been waiting 2 months to get in with this place for a cryotherapy session. We have never done cryo and were excited. They called us to reschedule due to a issue with the pump, we moved our appointment easily when they asked and then came in for the rescheduled appointment to find out that they forgot to tell us they are under maintenance so they wouldn't be able to do our session. She offered nothing except and sorry. My husband and I are both working individuals with 3 kids, if you know that, you know that these type of appointments are difficult to fit into a working parents schedule. So my first appointment was great! The Tens unit helped my lower back, and I was surprised that's all it took since that is what I have at home already. And then my second appointment I called ahead of time to ask if they will be using a different modality since I have a tens unit, and I'm glad I called she said the payment and treatment plan would be discussed with the chiro. I wanted my information upfront over the phone before I traveled all the way down there and also take time off from work. After probing the girl on the phone I finally found out that they are out of network for any insurance which will hit your deductible (which my OON deductible is 2k) and she did not want to discuss the $$ amounts which screamed red flag to me. Its a shame that they are not in network I really liked how they operated. Also PSA if Backfit is reading this. DISCLOSE that you are OON to all your patients so they can make an informed decision before treatment. Thank you. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. This place is a joke. They only want your money. They don't care about you as a patient. It's a constant sales pitch on every visit. I have great insurance and they still charged me 10 dollars more than my copay each time. This office used to be Dr Stork and he was an old school care giver. This office wants you to join an "chiropractor network which supposedly saves you thousands except they say your care would still run a few thousand. Save your money and find a chiropractor that gets you corrected in a few sessions versus MONTHS of care. read more

Desert West has been a lifesaver for me! I've been going there since last summer, and my level of pain has completely changed. I had so much pain in my neck, I could barely move it, and almost all activity resulted in more, and sharper, pain. After x-rays to identify my problem, a course of exercise and treatment was decided upon. Dr. Brett, Elsa, and Brooke, are so welcoming, professional, and dedicated to the best care they can give. Unfortunately, a MRI revealed that my pain does not have a surgical solution, so I am so very grateful for the relief I have found at Desert West. I would highly recommend visiting this chiropractic office! I was in 3 car accidents in a 6 month time period in high school and never received proper treatment for those accidents. Seven years later I was still feeling pain. My right arm would go numb on a regular basis and it was rare that I could sleep through the night. I had been having back issues on and off for about 10 years and being 33 years old I knew I had to do something to make sure that the problem(s) didn't continue as I continued to get older. I had been to other chiropractors and physical therapists in the past who were sometimes able to cure the issues temporarily, but the results never lasted and I didn't know what else I could do. I decided to try Desert West on a referral from my regular doctor after I had just about given up on the possibility of finding a solution to my problem and I've been so thankful I did. I always thought that chiropractors just put things back in place until they fell back out of place again at which time you just when back for another adjustment. No one had ever discussed how the spine and neck actually work and how by having a corrective plan (not just a treatment plan) I could actually reverse the damage that my spine had incurred over the years of having less than perfect posture and other unknown causes. I'm in the middle the plan that Dr Pfeifle put together for me based on his evaluations and X-Rays and for the first time in 10 years my back has felt great and I'm confident that I will be able to be free of chronic back issues in the future without needing to seek treatment for the rest of my life. read more
