As a first time visitor, I just wanted a burger and sweet potato fries. After looking for a place on Yelp, I ran across this place with decent reviews so decided to give it a try. The menu posted on the website does not work so that was disappointing. So, parking is okay. The restaurant is located on the corner in a shopping center with other varying places. It is pretty busy on the street so it's easy to pass up also with there being an overload of advertisement signs and business signs. The ambience is a typical bar like atmosphere with a very crowded dining space which I didn't really like. Some are booth style along with wall with chairs on the opposite side so it's likely you will be sitting pretty close to strangers if the place is crowded like it was today. I don't drink beer but it looked like the majority of people had beer and looked very happy with it. So, the burger: BBQ & Swiss burger (lettuce, mayo, caramelized onions, tomato I think don't remember.... Crazy I forgot already which reflects the 2 stars) on a sesame seed bun and sweet potato waffle fries. Anytime you order a burger and the waitress doesn't ask "how would you like that cooked" you should have second thoughts. Well the burger didn't really have a taste. I did not taste the BBQ sauce (waitress said was spicy), the patty was thin and overwhelmed by the lettuce and bun and maybe a pickle or two. Burger = Tasteless. Sweet potato waffle fries were "okay" nothing to write home about. It had lots of cinnamon and/or sugar sprinkled on them which could have been less or not there at all. Great food and a superb selection of beer! We had the New Mexico burger and Mother Porker sandwich and felt like we had died and gone to heaven. Good ingredients make good food. The giant pretzel with PBR mustard was an excellent appetizer choice. Britney and Haley at the bar were great with recommendations and conversation, they made the experience that much better. Glad to see Lawton finally has a great local (Oklahoma) beer selection and good food, now let's hope everyone continues to support them. read more

The Backporch Drafthouse is the absolute best place to get a get burger in Lawton! The food is fresh; the hamburger is ground in-house and the shoestring fries are hand-cut. They offer a decent selection of burgers, something for every taste. I have tried several different burgers/sandwiches and have yet to be disappointed. The prices are reasonable as well, in the same ballpark as what you would pay in a place such as Carl's Jr. The staff is always very cordial, answers questions thoroughly, and keeps up well with their tables. In addition to knowing the menu well, the waitstaff almost never has to be reminded of a drink refill. They all seem to have been very well-trained. This is one of the nicer bars in Lawton for sure. It's pretty new with a large selection of cheap drinks and beers. There are a bunch of flat screen tvs to catch a game during the day. I haven't had a chance to try out their food yet, but they do serve burgers and some other items. read more

Loud. Very much like a sports bar. Waitresses all seem a little uptight and understandably uncomfortable in the ridiculous shorts and tanktops. Good beer selection. Food was solid. Four of us ate and drank for under 70 bucks. Loaded fries were fantastic. Definitely not the greatest place to take kids. The dining area should probably be a little more separated from the bar. Went in for an early dinner while passing through Lawton. I'm not a beer drinker but the Skype reviews suggested it was worth the stop anyway. I ordered the Riley burger, jalapeno bacon relish and a special sauce. The relish was good though pretty tame on the heat index. The burger was on the small side, served with an abundance of fries. I ordered a take out for me and my wife and we were very disappointed. She ordered a hamburger with fries. The hamburger was not what we ordered and the fries was cooked with old grease and soggy. We both had different craft beers she had a Curious travelers lemon shandy, I don't like the lemon beers but this one was real good. Jeremy and his staff do it right. If they don't, they fix it! We eat here a lot..variety of delish items to choose from and the staff is very helpful if you need help picking out what to eat. They add new items too and they never disappoint. The best way to rate a restaurant is through the clients...and everyone loves this place ...that's why they keep coming back. We eat there at least once a week and never get tired of the fresh salads, delish pretzel with bacon cheese dip or the fantastic club that is so big and filling, you don't have room for their incredible dessert cakes. I've made several stops here in the past year, and I'm impressed with the service and the overall quality of the food. I've enjoyed the Okie Reuben sandwich with a decent selection of side dishes to choose from when I was really hungry, as well as the blackened salmon salad for lighter fare. I recently tried the $11 margarita to kick off the new year, and it was excellent. I need to sample some of their craft beers, since that's something in which the BP_DH takes great pride. Both dessert choices are worth a try. The buttermilk pie is the kind of comfort food dessert that old-timers like me appreciate. The hummingbird cake is tasty, and big enough that 2 or more can share. The ladies who work here are very pleasant and seem glad to be there, at least in front of the customers. Seems to be a well-managed establishment, and my visits there rate between 4-5 stars. read more

Husband and I went here after a long drive from Indiana. Their food was delicious. I had the avocado melt with an egg as recommended from the bar tender. Plenty of avocado and the added egg was a nice touch. I wanted an over medium egg, however was a touch over cooked. Still delicious. My husband had the frito pie, was fantastic. However his was a touch salty. Easily understandable as Fritos are very salty. Beer selection was great. Bar tender was wonderful. Very accommodating and helpful. Can't wait to go back again. This is great small chain restaurant with awesome pub grub. The pulled pork nachos are a must try, and you truly can't go wrong with any of their salads. My family has eaten here numerous times and there has only been one instance where we have been dissatisfied.
