My partner surprised me on our anniversary with choosing this place for a late night drink. I was blown away by the size of this place (3 floors) and the 4 pool tables. Two of those having their own room. I absolutely loved this place and will be back. For the drinks / service, I learned not to ask the bartender to choose a drink. Had the worst rum mixed drink but the high ceilings made up for it.

This place is great. It's such a cool bar and the pool tables and cues are in great condition. It's $6 to play per hour! We've never had an issue grabbing a table to play. It's a unique space. Definitely one of my favorite Mcmenamins locations. If you're not feeling the food here, you could walk down to Straight from New York and grab their cheese slice + tallboy for $5.50! Overall, it's in a great location.

Amazing venue with a 100+ year old bar mantle that was shipped from New York via ocean charter. The bar mantle was shipped around the bottom horn of South America due to the Panama Canal having not yet been made! They have a large assortment of alcohol and some amazing McMenamins Brews on tap. There are also two billiards rooms for a more private gathering. The service was friendly and great! Be sure to get your passport stamp !

This place is an absolute must see! All the traveling I do this place is one of the best gems we have ever found!! A small door leads to this giant Bar that was once an old movie Theater. The Bar itself is from the early 1900's and was shipped to America and put together piece by piece! There are a couple pinball machines, about 6 pool tables or so, two light shuffleboards and a giant screen and the most beautiful ornate bar!!! You can also order food here as well from a full menu. There are two separate rooms, one on the second floor and one on the third; both have pool tables. You just have to have to see this place!!! Words and pictures don't do it Justice!

Nice vibe, even for a Monday night. Decent martini. I'd go for a whiskey drink next time.

Love this place! It has a great vibe and old school atmosphere. It's connected to the old Baghdad theater that is now a Mcmems movie theater. Backstage is the old backstage area converted to a bar. Definitely a place suitable for a regular hang out spot or a date night with a girl you like. If you don't like her take her some place else because you wan to come back to this place with the girl you actually want to be with!

As a big fan of Crux brews I was stoked to see this PDX location open a couple of years back, and…read morehappy to see the creativity, vibe and level of service is still spot on. This isn't one of the fancier brewpubs in Portland (looking at you 10 Barrel and Deschutes) but that's never been the Crux brand so I'm happy to see them stick to their down to the earth origins and focus on making really good beer. The bar is nice and long and a good place to post up for a couple of pints, with plenty of cheery tenders to pour them for you. The space is overall industrial-feeling with tall ceilings and minimalist decor and mostly bare walls inside, but there's also an outside patio area with picnic tables in the parking lot, though that's best in the summer. We got the General Tso Cauliflower to start which was a great share plate, with awesome flavor in the sauce, though the actual cauliflower was a bit undercooked. Still, we polished it off no problem. Fish tacos were also a good call, and the thin, crispy fries were a crowd favorite. There are so many good sours, IPAs and other craft beer options here, my buddy just opted for the 4-brew flight (mostly IPAs) which we all sampled and loved, though it's kinda pricy for what's basically 20 ounces of beer. The one-off vintage 14% special beers are where it's at, but at that ABV level, we just decided to share one barrel aged Imperial Stout. So friggin caramelly and delish - the perfect dessert. The space was pretty quiet for a Saturday night but our service was absolutely next level, so it made for a super pleasant gathering for our small group. The food at this Crux location is probably best described as better-than-average pub fare, but not mouth-watering, and the ambiance is low key but also nothing super special. The beer and the staff though, are awesome, so I will be back for more.

It's truly disappointing when restaurants and other businesses choose to take a political stance…read morethat makes some customers feel unwelcome simply because of their beliefs or support for the Constitution. My wife and I drove over 30 minutes to visit this location because we were looking forward to enjoying good BBQ, tacos and a beer. Unfortunately, the political signage displayed throughout the windows and establishment made us feel unwelcome, so we decided not to stay. Great Notion and Matt's BBQ Tacos, you've pushed away customers who came ready to support your business and spend money with you. I wish you the best, but it seems you've chosen to operate not only as a restaurant and brewery, but also as a platform for political messaging. That's your right, of course, but it's a direction that may alienate customers who simply want to enjoy good food and drinks without politics being part of the experience.

The Blueberry Muffin is an all-time favorite, and even though I get annoyed when they're sold out, it's never enough to keep me away. Most times I get a flight and try a bunch of different things. This location is charming. It has the industrial decor that now feels cliché but was groundbreaking for beer and burger spots a decade ago. With a very large patio and big garage doors, it's great during summer especially. Staff is knowledgeable about their beer, patient while we deliberated, and did us a favor to help the beer travel on the plane. The kitchen is now operated by Matt's BBQ Tacos (which I will review separately).
