Great place. They just opened an outside sitting area too which is great for date night. They even had lights up. Service can be slow if they're busy but the food is worth it. Hello. My family and I love backstreets and are faithful customers. It's so discouraging how their employees have become so RUDE. I tried going to this establishment at 9:05 pm. As it says on google AND yelp they close at 10 PM. As i walked through the doors i was not greeted, i was simply being stared at like i was stupid. They told me they close at 9. I was unaware of the new hours but yet acted like i should've known when i did NOT. All three women inside were huddled in a corner looking like their gossiping. they all looked at us as we just trying to satisfy our empty stomachs. i felt so embarrassed the way they spoke to me. i don't plan on returning anytime soon. read more

If you bring a kid to this place be prepared to be shuttled away from the other people to a back room near the kitchen, even if the rest of the place is relatively empty. Backstreets always has a huge wait and a line out the door, which it sometimes deserves and sometimes doesn't. What I'll say about Backstreet's is that when it's on and rolling, it does everything right. The cocktails are fantastic, the chicken salad is absolutely to die for, and the service is top notch. When it's off, oh man it's off. The chicken salad is always amazing (shout-out to the kitchen) but the sides can certainly be suspect, as can the cocktails. The service can really take a nosedive if they're even a tad busy which is a little disappointing. Overall a solid lunch/dinner choice and one I'd recommend. read more

I LOVE Backstreet's and have for a long, long time. Tonight, however, I ordered 30 wings to go. To my utter dismay, not only have they almost doubled in price, but I only received wingettes and ZERO drummettes. I've never had that happen from any place I've ordered wings in the last 25yrs, including BS's. Not only were they different but they were very cold and the sauces (3 types) felt as an afterthought. I regret having friends of mine try these as they have not had BS's before. I'll need to be a lot more selective moving forward. read more

Passing through Hickory on vacation. Decided to check this place out around 3:30pm on a Saturday. My husband and I didn't think it would be that busy at this time, but we were wrong. It was definitely busy. Our waitress Sara was working the whole outdoor patio by herself. She was so polite and nice and had a smile on her face even though you could tell she was exhausted. The whole time my husband and I thought someone would be coming outside to help her, but nope. She was alone. It took about an hour to get food, which was fine with us since we are on vacation and not in a hurry. But, when we finally got the food, it was just okay. It could have been worse, but it definitely could have been better. Sara was so nice though! I noticed towards the end of our stay that she was looking a little pale. I asked her if she was okay. She said she would be fine. That it had just been busy and she hadn't had time for a break and hadn't eaten yet. I hope that isn't the normal with this restaurant. They should be taking care of their employees and giving them regular breaks. Especially with how hard they are working for them. I'm hoping Sara got some rest after that shift because she definitely deserves it. Thanks for the great service. 3 stars because the food was just okay and I didn't like that Sara was working 10 tables by herself (and we never went without anything either). By far one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in a long time. Ordered a Reuben sandwich all it was was a sandwich with sauerkraut and cheese. We also had some sandwiches for example a Cuban sandwich which was not even pressed. This is just a few of the issues that we had. then the waitress was very unattentive. I have eaten here 3 or 4 times over the past year. The food variety is great for a sports bar and always comes out hot and fresh in my experiences. The wait staff has always been very friendly and made good recommendations. The beer selection is good but Not great. However, fresh craft brew for $4 a glass is hard to beat. One negative is there are no tvs unless you are seated in the "bar" area. The remainder of the restaurant has no tvs. I would recommend this for families or a guys/girls night out. read more

On our most recent visit I enjoyed the Mandarin Chicken Salad - "Fresh grilled chicken breast served on a romaine salad topped with bacon, pecans, mandarin oranges, green onions, crispy Chinese noodles and served with Thai ginger Vinaigrette". The chicken was grilled nicely, the bacon added a nice twist and the dressing was great. They have a small, reasonably priced, draft selection to choose from (Foothills for me during this visit).
