I believe they would have retained more warmth if they had been wrapped in foil or placed in a proper takeout dish. Given that it was only a half rack, it should have fit comfortably. On the brighter side, the mashed potatoes and gravy were as delightful as always. Every time I order them, they're consistently delicious. The turkey and roast beef platters were also warm and tasty, which I appreciated. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of being misled by the portion sizes. It seemed like they were trying to create an illusion of abundance by stuffing four slices of bread under the meat. This wasn't just the case with the turkey platter; the same trick was used for the roast beef platter. When I ordered, I explicitly declined the bread option, thinking I was getting a straightforward platter, not an open-faced sandwich. Instead of a generous serving, I felt like I received less meat than I expected, masked by the hidden bread. So, while I enjoyed the flavors, I can't ignore the feeling of being a bit deceived. I'm left uncertain about my next order. Perhaps I'll reach out to them directly to discuss my experience. I understand that times are tough, and the costs of ingredients, especially meat, can be challenging, but I can't help but feel a bit fooled and/or misled by all the slices of bread under both the Turkey & Roast Beef meat (4/5 slices under each pile of meat, for each platter! The food was OK... the Eggplant Parm hoagie with extra cheese was decent, omelets were good, the onion soup was OK. Place was packed before we got there and got more quiet after 1230pm. Food may be better on a regular non-holiday day. I feel like they could improve the entry space... you walk in from the parking lot, stand in the doorway and others coming in would open the door right into us. During dinner we had to get up to get refills on water and were never offered additional drinks or anything. We finally stopped someone and asked for our check. My wife had to go to the bar to pay the bill. No one ever came back to the table. At one point earlier we were asked who our waitress was and we all looked at each other because 4 or maybe 5 people were at our table at some point but it was like we still couldn't get stuff we needed. My wife paid with a card she had forgotten to activate and it declined. The bartender gave her the slip and the card and never noticed or told her. She realized it at the table. We had to go back to the bar and pay again because after cleaning that one table everyone except the bartender would vanish. Finally we paid, sweating our asses off in a corner table with the most bassy sound system pounding for 2 hours we got out of there and went to a local bar for drinks. I would have loved to have enjoyed this place and loved to have had more drinks because their bar was the highlight of the experience but it was clear they didn't care about us at all. And we were sweating to death.
