I had back fence replaced by fencing pro. they used 42" on cosmetic block wall. There's also an 11 ft slope and 42" was used when 5 ft. is standard used for fence on slope and that is what was there for last 35 years. An experienced contractor knows better than that. I'm a perimeter lot and have coyotes running wild. What was this guy thinking. Now he wants to charge me another $1,000 for an 11 foot run at 5 ft height on top of the $600 he already charged me for this 11 ft. Fencing Pro wants me to pay for his horrible mistake. I find the negative reviews quite surprising because when We contacted Troy for an estimate, He was very nice and gave Us an estimate well within our budget. Everyone at the Fencing Pro were helpful and considerate when it came to splitting the cost between 3 neighbors. Nickie, Joseph and Gio came out and removed all old fencing and concrete, and had to work out a spacing problem with one of the adjoining fences that came out perfect. They did a great job cleaning up and leveling the dirt at the base of the fence. They all took pride in their work and a great attitude towards the company they work for and the customer. After a few estimates I went with The fencing pro. They installed white vinyl fence around the whole back yard and a driveway gate . They showed up when on time and completed the job ahead of schedule even though they ran into a issue on one side. Nicky was awesome and handled the complete job like a pro. In March of this year I chose this company to put up a wood fence. Unfortunately I was at work when it was installed. The workmanship was poor, many of the vertical boards were either warped when they were installed or improperly installed and the slats went into the dirt channel where the water flows out from the back yard. It won't take long for thesee slats to rot. When I called to ask them to come out to look at the issues I was told they would come out to give me a bid to fix the problem. I would give this company 2.5 stars but that's not an option. They did our fence about a month ago. Overall the fence came out ok. However, due to several issues that came up during and after the job I would not recommend this company. First, our backyard is on a slope, and rather then get longer dogears and cut them to all match, they set them all to be equal along the top and left a 2-3 inch gap between the bottom of the fence and the ground. They also left all the tags on the bottom of th boards which looks very tacky. Second, they took a huge chunk out of the stucco in our garage during process of placing the boards. When my husband contacted Troy, he was informed "they are not that type of contractor and wouldn't be fixing this" Third, they did not grind down the concrete in our driveway where they set the posts and they left a huge mess in our alley from washing out the cement and did not clean it up. When my husband contacted the company to express his concern about the job he was told it was not an expensive enough job (it was a $6,000 job) to constitute the owners attention so nothing would be done to rectify our concerns. This company is extremely unprofessional, the workers are lazy and they do not take pride in their work. We were so disappointed in this company. Troy was helping us and his customer service was horrible. We called to correct an issue with our fence they were putting in and he was extremely rude to me. They did the fence completely wrong and then were very rude to us on the phone. They insulted my children and spoke down to me. We will be taking them to a civil court because we were so disappointed in their work. I'd stay away and go with someone. No this was definitely the same company because Troy was a jerk to my mom and literally two days after your men finished our fence it's now broken. The Sales person Troy, needs some training about what's possible. Had I talked to his installers before the job I would have had more material ordered. Thank God they had not finished when I decide to make a change that Troy said was not possible. Also, I was told I could an installation date after they received a deposit. Then I was told after Troy ordered the material I could get an install date. The I was told I could get an install date after the material arrived. His customer service person Ronda really needs customer service skills training. I complained that too many companies are stating because of Covid-19, shipments are being delayed. I would not use this company again. We shared the cost of the fence with our neighbors, but after reviewing the quote and realizing that the fence post footings were undersized based on the city code, they ended up charging us additional for larger footings (as required by city code), even though the quote stated it would meet code (state code only). The product looked nice, but has already started to sag. I've had to adjust the gates several times due to sagging. We had one panel where the bottom support has come loose and the panels are slipping. This should all be covered under their warranty, but it has been over 2 weeks since requesting service and all they tell us is that "they will come by next time they are in the area." This is not acceptable service to me. Then when we tried to push the issue to get it resolved, they hung up on us. Very unprofessional. Use at your own risk. read more

I needed 3 gates built. They were nice on the phone everything seemed professional showed up on time it all appeared good not great but these are not super hi end gates, However I did notice a larger than expected gap in the one pair of gates and asked to talk to the owner which I did. He said wait for winter to end they will expand. Well they did not. Also on one of the gates the handle hardware fell off and it did expand and is now very difficult to open and close and with 3 kids that sucks ! so I called them today and the female says ohhh the contract says there is only a 90 day on the hardware and moving parts - sorrrrrrrry wah wah wahhhhhhhh. bottom line buyer beware there website and all the testimonials must be old or not real not the greatest gate company and one that I would not recommend nor use again.......I mean they could have asked a few more questions about my concerns, acted sympathetic and sent a tech over. It would have taken him less than five minutes to fix it. now I have to do it but dont want to since I paid 1500.00 for three gates that my buddies in the biz said should have cost about a grand......... I recently had my old rotting fence torn down and a new one installed. The work was great and they were fast. The price was right too. I had no complaints until I turned on my sprinklers. Every single head was broken off and I now have 2 broken pipes directly under the posts. Their contract states they are not responsible for broken pipes so I guess i have to dig everything up and do it myself. If you work with this company make sure you are there the day of the work and show them the sprinkler locations. I thought this would be common sense, guess not. Troy, can you help me out at all with this? I would be more than happy to provide more info about the situation. Once the installers finally arrived, they did excellent work. However, after a couple of weeks the gaps widened and the gates don't line up properly. I contacted the office and I was told that I would be contacted and the issue would be addressed. Troy has told me that the problem would be resolved and that his company was behind schedule due to the amount of work that has to be done. I interviewed 3 wood fence companies, two from Home Adviser and The Fencing Pro from the Local Service Directory in the OC Register. Three quotes, all different but The Fencing Pro quote was the only one that reflected a product equal to or better than the original. Final result is a very strong, well built fence, better than the original tract fence built in 1994. The use of Redwood trim and supports were improvements over the original, additionally the professional way the fence was built to handle the slope from back to front was an improvement. I recommend having yourself and your neighbor present at the start of the job to go over the plan with the lead installer to insure both of you agree to the plan and possible improvements and recommendations that may be suggested. read more

If I could, I would give ZERO stars. After the winds blew down my wooden fences, I contracted The Fencing Pro to replace them with vinyl fences. $4,000 job. When installing the gate post, the crew managed to bury 2 sprinkler heads, clearly visible at ground level, and break the sprinkler line under a giant ball of concrete. After spending $300 to fix the damage, I shared the pictures with Mr. Troy Ford, the President of the company. I expected a little understanding and an offer to meet me somewhere in the middle. All he would say, repeatedly, is that they are not responsible for damage and it says so in his contract. I can understand a sprinkler head getting broken. Things happen, I get it! It is a simple fix, I can even do that myself. Of course knowing about the problem would have been very helpful. It only came to light after getting a big water bill. The crew blatantly ignored the sprinklers and buried them under concrete instead. That shows a lack of professionalism and pride in a job well done. read more

The fence that that Troy and the Fencing Pro Crew installed was substandard on multiple levels, the customer service was the worst I have experienced in any home improvement project and they neglected a leaking pipe they created and left our property without contacting us. They failed to use galvanized nails, therefore rust is forming and staining the white picket fence after 2 months. They were instructed to paint the fence to match the house but they ignored us and painted it bright white. The crew hit one of the sprinkler lines at our home, the sprinkler system turned on at 5PM and began flooding the yard and created a river of water down the street. The crew admittedly left the property without turning off the sprinkler valve and allowed the water to erode the newly poured concrete posts and further undermined my driveway causing unknown damage. When questioned about the damaged line, Troy simply stated that the contract exempted them from underground lines. They attempted to construct an arbor, however, it was so amateurish that I had them stop construction and hired another contractor to complete the job. Need I say more. read more

I have to report a bad experience with this company. Our neighbors were replacing the property fence between us. They selected The Fencing Pro. They came out on a Friday, I had a quick chat to the workers, who told me they would come to me before leaving and make sure that I was happy with everything. This they never did. They left without leaving me their information or checking I was happy. The fence had hundreds of nails sticking out of it, they broke my garden archway and left it dangling in pieces. They damaged my sprinkler system in two places which lead to my garden being flooded (and we are in a drought so need to conserve water), they moved my trampoline without asking if that was OK and in the process did not ensure that the legs were securely under the trampoline. When my daughter and friend climbed on it, the whole thing bent and collapsed. Luckily the kids were not hurt but they were badly shaken up. They left the trampoline bent and crumpled in the middle of the yard for us to sort out. They had to move some stored items when they cleared the old fence and just left them laying around and didn't bother to put them back. My neighbor complained that she had to be on them to make them tidy up and made them clear the debris out my yard. They left the ground uneven with big chunks of cement lying around. When I phoned the secretary to find out if they would sort out the issues, she was incredibly rude and slammed the phone down on me. Troy the owner, then said he would send his men to sort everything out. When they came, and were about to sort it all out, when the secretary phone and said they would not be fixing the trampoline. When I asked to speak to Troy, the secretary said he doesn't want to talk to me, he doesn't have the time for this and slammed the phone down on me again. I have had to pay someone to take down the broken trampoline and will now need to purchase a new one and get to pay someone to put it up for me again. On the side of my house I have a gravel area. I just had paid someone to level it out and put fresh gravel down. It is now filthy and will need to be redone! The garden was trampled, so there is about 1 1/2 yards of barren garden next to the fence. I will have to buy plants and grass to make the garden look decent again. The cost of sorting out the mess after them will probably cost me $1 000. In conclusion I am totally confused as to why The Fencing Pro was selected to do the work. I see that their reviews on Yelp are shocking. Word of caution to home owners - do your research. I wouldn't select this company under any circumstance! read more

Although Troy had a very professional demeanor at the job walk, I would not trust this company's estimates. They sent us an estimate, and we read it and sent a deposit check. A few days later the office staff told us the price was now 35% higher (I guess they added the linear feet on the estimate incorrectly) and we "needed" to sign the new estimate with the correct price. I don't "need" to do anything. I now get to DECIDE if I want to sign this NEW contract. When it comes down to it, this office staff is very rude and wholly unprofessional when there is a problem. Dreadful, unprofessional, cowardly, rude, and even hurtful; this was my experience with this individual...the owner of the company, Troy Ford. I live on the majorly busy street of Chapman Ave, cross street N. Berkeley, across from the college. There is a particularly lovely, wooden fence catty-corner to our property which has a metal plate indicating it was built by this company and listing the number. I called about 3 weeks ago and was told they were too busy to even come for an estimate; okay. I called back late last week to tell me when they could come (left on a message) and I called back to arrange the appointment to my own calendar. My time is split between an invalid mother here in my home; my sister suffering with advanced MS and myself, working with a badly injured ankle causing me difficulty in walking. The appointment was made for today at 1pm. Troy (I'm assuming that is his name, he never gave me his name or identified himself by his company name) called, as I had asked that he do before arriving. He call about 20 minutes until 1 to say he'd be arriving in 5 minutes. Well, that's not how quickly "things" go with older and incapacitated people, so I asked that he come in 15 minutes. I reminded him that he'd need to park on Balcom. He called again, from his car on Berkeley. I told him again, this time with more explanation, that due to the new regulations, there was no parking on Berkeley without a permit. A bit of time went by and as I waited at the back door, looking to the alley, I saw he was coming from our parking area off the alley. We have 3 rentals and four parking spaces to accommodate myself and those three renters. My sister is allowed to park in Berkeley with her handicap license plate, since we really have 5 cars for those 4 spaces. I asked him again, with apologizing for the inconvenience, to park on Balcon, as those were reserved spaces for my renters. He responds asking was I expecting them home. I responded that I didn't know their schedules but that due to the extreme nature of our parking issues, it was an understanding that those spaces are reserved for their use only. He left, indicating that he would now move his truck to Balcom, after overt indications of complete disgust with the request. And so I waited...and waited...and waited, there in the back yard. After about 10 or 15 minutes I called his cell; first call went directly to voice mail and the second went to VM after the usual number of rings. I called a third time to let him know that I had to assume he was not returning. That was about an hour ago. He has yet to call. Such disrespect and unprofessionalism! The fence would have been the length of two properties; at the front (good advertising for him); and about 6 to 8 feet high. I wish I knew someone that could duplicate the fence he did for the neighbor...very nice fence (although I have not yet spoken with the neighbor to know their personal experience with him and or his work) but it is a nice looking fence. Horrible customer service experience!! My neighbor had part of his fence blow down in a storm, and selected The Fencing Pro to fix it. He came by and told me that someone was coming by to fix the fence, and that there was a little bit of work that would need to be done on my side and I would need to pay for my side of it, I agreed to help him out. After the work was done, someone came to the door and my wife paid them. When I got done with work and returned home, I was unhappy with the resulting work. I called them and had the worst customer service experience of my life. I explained my frustrations, and had all of the blame pushed back on myself and my neighbors, so I pressed harder because I felt that this was definitely not my fault. The result was that Troy (the owner) placed me on hold mid-sentence, his secretary picked up and asked me for my phone number so she could schedule a meeting the following week, when I asked her what the meeting would entail she literally started yelling at me. I was unhappy with the work performed on this job, or more-so with the business practices employed doing the job, but would have been able to live with it had they been capable of even a little customer service. But I wish I could give them a 0 star rating, because no unhappy customer deserves to be cut off mid-sentence just to be YELLED at by a secretary, that's just insane.
