Good Morning Everyone, I just got back home after having a delightful breakfast prepared by a masterful chef at a restaurant run by his magnificent family. The chef is Tien Lam and the name of his business is Bacon. It is on Grant Avenue near 5th street, next door to Wells Fargo Bank. My breakfast consisted of traditional eggs benedict, with a small salad and the best french fries ever. I also had a side of the most heavenly bacon, I have ever had, Honey Bee bacon. The eggs benedict were beyond delicious. Eggs cooked to perfection, hollandaise sauce was made fresh. All I can say is YUM! The small salad paired perfectly with everything. Had a delicate vinaigrette dressing. The french fries were hot and seasoned with expert care. I love french fries and can say that without question, these are the best fries I have ever had. Now to the bacon. What can I say, if you name your business Bacon, you better have some fabulous bacon. Well, they do! This bacon is not only cut thick it is sweet and salty. It is magnificent. Who knew that honey and bacon would go so well together? I wish I had some more, it is that good. When they were serving Vietnamese food in the evening (more than a years ago) we came several times. However, they quit serving dinner due to long hours. So we had lunch here today for the first time, and amazingly they remembered us. After a year later! How amazing is that? The lunch was excellent -- particularly impressed by the fresh and plentiful fruit salad on the side. The iced tea is fresh and strong. Friendly and attentive service. Family members recommend that we eat breakfast at Bacon. The car GPS took us to a parking lot behind some buildings. We drove up and down the street a couple of times until we spotted the restaurant. We found a parking space on the street a couple of blocks away. The restaurant appeared to be full; but, we were seated almost immediately. The service was excellent. Athenian frittata was an explosion of flavor that I would order again. The hash browns were almost perfect and the fruit bowl was special. Normally, a fruit bowl is a bunch in melon pieces with a grape or two. This fruit bowl was a real bowl of fruit that perfectly complimented the frittata. My wife's chocolate chip pancakes were melt in your mouth delicious. The only negative about the meal was that I ordered English Muffin; but, was given sourdough. They had outdoor and indoor seating-- we got outside and it was great. The scenery is nice. The food was really good--- and we even got the deep fried Twinkie for dessert. The jam was sssoo good. Everything we ordered tasted great---hit the spot. The only downside was how long of a wait we had between ordering and getting our food.... Not ideal but I get it. Just give yourself a little extra time if you have to be somewhere afterwards. I'd definitely come back and recommend trying it out! read more

We were surprised when we were seated immediately. We ordered eggs Benedict, a hamburger and chicken fried steak. The place was pretty busy but they seem appropriately staffed so we were disappointed that it took almost an hour for the first plate to arrive at the table. The hamburger came out first, the chicken fried steak followed behind 10 minutes later then 10 minutes after that the Benedict arrived to the table. I was sorry to send my food back as it was cold, the yolk had hardened and it was pretty disappointing because I was hungry! After we left we headed to Petaluma where we were lucky enough to find Sax's Joint on the boulevard and go in and grab some food. This made me happy! This was our second time giving this restaurant a chance. My husband and I don't remember why we didn't like it the first time, but it was enough reason to not go back. This time, we came on a Sunday morning and we were seated within 5 minutes (party of 4). Good sign! We ordered our food with the server right away. After waiting for 45 minutes and no one having checked on us, I finally asked the waitress to check on our food. She came back and said at least another 10 minutes. 15 minutes goes by and we had to ask for it to be packed to go. We were there for over an hour and no food. I completely understand when places become short staffed, but at least let the customers know so they can choose whether or not to sit around hungry for an hour. Yes, you might have people leave but it's better than losing more customers over the repetitive reviews about the same issue. My friends mom and I came here for brunch on our way out of town, having been recommended by our guitar player. The staff was very accommodating as we thought we wanted to sit outside and changed our mind when a breeze came through like from under Marilyn Monroe's skirt. Once you walk into the establishment it smells like its name, and I ain't even mad. We split a California fritata it was cooked to perfection and the perfect amount of food. They have fresh jams for purchase as well as to use on the toast served with our meal. We had the raspberry and it was delicious. Definitely one of the go-to breakfast spots in Novato. Their menu is quite large, with something for everyone. Eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, breakfast meat, frittatas (which are basically scrambles), and delicious homemade jams/preserves that they also have for sale. Sandwiches - hot and cold varieties - burgers, salads, and alcoholic beverages. The servers dress very nicely and the presentation of the food is great. The fries come in a little metal basket that sits atop your plate. Every time I've gone (which is maybe three or four times now), I've gotten the Turkey Supreme. Applewood smoked bacon, roasted deli turkey, tomato, spring mix greens, garlic aioli - served on a fresh Torta roll. It doesn't disappoint. I think boyfriend gets a frittata, he loves breakfast. Once I asked a guy at the next table if the pancakes were worth it. He said yes and Holy Cow, he was right. I think the only thing lacking is the flavor of the fries; they're kind of flavorless and bland. They just need some seasoning. Sidenote: When Bacon first opened a few years ago, they were doing breakfast/lunch in the morning, and a few days a week they were doing Vietnamese food in the evening. My mom and I always intended to try their Vietnamese, but alas, we never got the chance. After a few months, or maybe it was more like six, Bacon stopped doing evening Vietnamese. Fantastic breakfast. If you order scrambled eggs, they are at a whole new level. Poached eggs are perfect whether as a side or on a Benedict. The Frittatas are incredible. Secret menu, you can order as an omelette and I think takes if up a level. Their fruit bowls are fantastic with fresh ripe large assortment of fruit and berries. I always sub for potatoes but the potatoes are also great. I think they make their own preserves so don't pass up trying them. We have been going here probably once or twice a month since they opened. The service is impeccable. We sit outside with our dog and they always bring him water. Great indoor and outdoor seating. We ate here today as I'm always in the mood for fried chicken. Bacon restaurant has a two piece (thigh and drumstick) side order for five bucks. Good deal! Chicken was hot out of the fryer, and quite tasty. I'd give the chicken four stars on its own. Mr B. was craving an omelet, but they have what's called a frittata. He ordered the Denver frittata and was disappointed. He said it tasted as if he had cooked it himself for the first time. The hash browns weren't much better. The star of the plate was the ciabatta toast with their homemade BlackBerry jam. The jam was delicious, and can be purchased for $8 if you are so inclined. Service is excellent, as there is a lot of wait staff. There was little to no wait for anything on a Saturday afternoon. The owner Tien is rude and wouldn't understand my friend ordered a salad and was served it with chicken. She's vegetarian and he accused her of ordering wrong and being wrong. She ordered a regular salad and didn't order it with meat. I've dealt with him before and he doesn't like confrontation. I'd never recommend going to this place. read more

We came in on a Sunday morning around 10 am and it wasn't too crowded. It never developed one of those insane lines, which is great. I don't like how people get at some diners. I had the sandwich and it was delicious. It was much more of a breakfast variety and not over breaded. It came with homemade jam and we ordered a side of bacon. They do a thick bacon with a honey coating which is just amazing. It's a very typical diner with fast, efficient service and fading decor.
