Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is a fav coffee spot when I'm in this Santa Rosa area. This location is a pretty decent size coffee shop with lots of inside seating. There is also plenty of parking. This spot is very well organized with lots of island decor. Walk-in only so no drive-thru. For this visit, ordered a large 100% Kona brewed coffee ($4.50) and a Mocha Kick Frozen Big Kahuna ($8.75). Both drinks are sooo good and large size serving!! They also offer pastries, ground coffee and coffee beans. Lots of apparel merchandise as well! The baristas are very courteous and friendly! I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a disappointing and frustrating experience I had at your location. During my visit, I ordered a promotional drink advertised as the "Three Waves" for 89 lei. The promotion did not specify a drink size, and I typically order a large. I placed my order accordingly--a large iced Three Waves in my personal 40 oz tumbler--and specifically requested that it be filled only halfway, as the drinks are often made with too much milk. While placing my order, the staff encountered issues redeeming my reward. The employee assisting me called over a manager, who was also unable to process the promotion. I explained that another location had previously redeemed the same reward without any issues and offered to wait while they contacted that location for clarification. After making the call, the manager informed me that the reward could only be redeemed for a medium size. I responded that this was fine and I offered to pay the difference for a large. At that point, my drink was already being prepared. The manager attempted to process the reward again as a medium, but the promotional code still did not work. I showed her that, on my end, the reward had already been redeemed and that I had a valid coupon for a free drink. Despite this, she insisted that I would need to pay for the large drink since it had already been made. I clarified that I wanted to use the reward I had earned through previous purchases and even suggested that they could discard the drink and remake it as a medium if necessary. However, she continued to insist that I pay for the large drink, refusing to honor the reward or accept my offer to pay the difference. To make matters worse, the drink was filled all the way despite my clear request for it to be only halfway full. As a result, it was mostly milk and not made to my specifications. Because it was not what I ordered, I ultimately threw it away. When I asked for her name, she responded, "I'm Jerri, the owner." I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service and explained that I would instead go to the other location, where staff are able to properly redeem rewards without pressuring customers into paying for items that should be covered. She then stated that her son manages that location and that she owns both. I find it extremely disappointing that a business would promote a rewards program but fail to honor it when a customer attempts to redeem a valid offer. This experience felt unprofessional, wasteful, and left me questioning the integrity of your rewards system. I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed to prevent similar situations for other customers in the future. read more

I love that they use coffee ice cubes in their iced drinks! My favorite is the Three Waves iced latte, which is coconut, macadamia, and caramel. Service is consistently quick and my order is always accurate. I like their rewards program and wish they had a location closer to home in Marin County but I make sure to stop by whenever I am in Santa Rosa! read more

I came in at 5pm on Friday. Everyone in my academy kept saying how great this place is and how they use coffee ice, so it doesn't get watered down. I thought that was amazing since I do that at home too. I asked the barista there what her favorite drink is, and she said the beach bliss, so that's what I went with. It was good. It wasn't too sweet, but I don't think I tasted enough of the macadamia part of it. The whip on top was good too. And I loved that on my 3 hour drive home, it didn't get watered down. I deducted a star because it is very expensive. I got the smaller size and it was still $7. I was actually surprised it was so much. On the way to SAFARI WEST, stop here if you are need of caffeine before your tour or after your day. There is not a lot of options on this side of town. It's a cute little family owned Hawaiian themed coffee spot with a few other little shops in this tiny parking lot in a corner of the intersection. They have pastries and it has a very modern decor with a clean bathroom. I enjoyed the employees recommended drink and ordered a chocolate cupcake also which saved me because I was starving after the safari which was a blast I may add. Easy to find! Clearly, locals love this place. A lot of parking. Tons of seats inside. No seats outside. Pretty big space and they sell Hawaiian coffee beans and ground coffee. They also sell mugs and cups, baked goods, package food to go. The atmosphere was easy going and chill. Greeted nicely when I came in. Ordered the Three waves and the Caramel. Went here Saturday, late morning. Variety of choices for drinks and snacks. Lots of stuff for sale, nicely decorated interior. Quick, friendly service. I asked the barista what they liked better, regular mocha or monkey mocha. They said both were good. So I decided to get a small money mocha and it tasted delicious. If you drive all the way across town to get an espresso drink then tell customers that you start cleaning the espresso machine early (30 minutes early) so you can leave on time, it doesn't help. After a 14 minute drive from the other Bad Ass which closes early also, then told no espresso drinks, and it's 30 minutes before closing....with nothing offered. Never returning and will advise others to pass on this business. If I'm driving to make it to your business because it's open, it's BS that you close early with no interest in how far your customer is coming from. read more

Came here after going to Safari West. This place was amazing! My fiancé and I could not decide but the guy was super patient. We ordered the Beach Bonfire( toasted marshmallow and macadamia nut) and a blended Kreme De Kona ( white and dark chocolate , vanilla) . They were delicious! Really brought me back to Hawaii. I have visited this place on a very regular basis for ten years and I've loved it - loved the coffee, loved the vibe, loved the people. But now I'm not going back. I switch between three/ four drinks - nothing fancy or out of the ordinary. (A kona/ iced Kona, a latte and a chai latte). I've been drinking them for ten years. Previous staff knew my order before I'd even asked. The place was awesome. But the staff changed (for the worse) a number of months ago and now the place has gone downhill. This happened a little while ago and I'm still mad as poor staff training/ lack of customer service has ruined what was previously my favorite coffee place. A while back I had one of my three drinks - and it was BAD. I mean - how can you mess up a latte? - but it was bad. I chalked it up to bad luck. A week later I was back - I'd ordered a chai latte this time - (another one of my three drinks) and it was completely undrinkable. I didn't notice until I got home as it was too hot to drink when I picked it up. I chalked it up to bad luck again. Obviously I'm a slow learner - because I went back AGAIN a few days later. I ordered another chai latte. I had a sip. It was revolting again. I asked my husband if it was me or the drink - so he had a sip. He agreed. But I still really wanted one - and figured maybe this was a staff training issue. So I went back - and politely pointed out that something had gone wrong with it - and asked for a redo (I didn't even mention that this wasn't the first time).I mean they can't fix a problem with how they make the drinks if they don't know there's a problem - right? The guy at the counter looked at it (and bearing in mind I'd taken two tiny sips) said that I'd been drinking it already and if I wanted a redo I'd have to pay. I pointed out politely again that I'd taken two tiny sips (there was half an inch of drink missing from the top) and there was clearly a staff training issue as the drink I had regularly had over YEARs was suddenly undrinkable. I wasn't trying to get a free drink - as I brought back my 95% untouched drink. He refused to remake it (quite rudely) saying that it's not his problem that I ordered something I don't like. Do you ever try a place solely based on a name? Jamie W. and I were near the end of a very long drive from Eureka where we spent a quiet extended weekend. As we approached Santa Rosa on Hwy 101, I suddenly remembered the name of this coffee spot from a previous road trip we took to Safari West. Most coffee-centric cafes have names that either have a personal reference (Philz, Peet's, Bernie's...) or remain symbolic to the point of meaningless (Starbucks, Blue Bottle, Ritual...). This particular cafe name, however, appeared to reflect a decided attitude. As it turned out, it is the real name of a Hawaiian coffee company. Love this coffee place! I honestly didn't know they had multiple locations in Santa Rosa! I always go to the other location and accidentally found this one. I always order the same thing: 1. Coffee Kooler: Delicious as usual with the perfect creamy blend with perfect sweetness. I do wish that it didn't have dairy but o well. It didn't give me a stomach ache drinking it so I guess there isn't much compared to a normal latte. Overall, this location is bigger than the other location that I normally go to. The coffee is subpar at best! As you may have seen from other reviews I like americanos. I order a small americano with 2 shots. The color of the drink could tell you the first problem, it was light brown and based on 2 shots in a small size it should have been much darker. It tasted pretty watered down as well. The only flavor notes that came through were stale and bitter. The store it's self was also a bit dirty as well. This is my second time going to bad ass coffee and this is my second time being disappointed the first location I went to they almost shorted me five dollars. I had to explain to them. They did not give the proper money back now this facility. I order a mai tai latte they give it to me with no foam, which is the whole point of ordering. It was the cold foam. They don't tell me that the machine is broken. They just give it to me and charge me full price. How awesome getting a drink that I didn't ask for at full price what was even the point waste of time honestly, I just wanna dump the stupid drink out. And it was eight dollars for a medium.!!!! 8!!! Went in today 12/28 at approximately 2:00 and asked for a MOCHA but given a Latte. I told the kid behind the counter that I asked for a mocha and he says "no you didn't ". I said yes I did.
