Came for a free coffee on Veteran's Day. Since I could choose my size coffee, I chose a large, of course. I asked the barista to leave room for cream. She was delightfully pleasant towards me. But she failed that simple request, filling it to the top. Oh well, I took it home and warmed it up and put Coffeemate in. Peet's is great coffee, no matter where you get it. So passive aggressive and rude. We felt pushed to get two drinks when we only wanted one. So then she said we have quotas on how much liquid we give, so as punishment or something she gave us a 3/4 full cup. Trashy service and classless baristas. My order is the simplest it can be Medium iced coffee in a large cup extra ice. I was the only person in there and they had five people working and they gave me my croissant. Don't judge me I got a croissant lol and then nothing else happen. They never gave me my coffee. So I had to ask is anyone gonna make my coffee and then they didn't even know what I ordered so I had to tell him what I ordered Which I had ordered a medium for me and a small for you but they just gave me both in large cups so I apologize. Love this Peet's! Now that the downtown location is closed, this is my go-to Peet's in Santa Rosa. Although it can get busy, the staff are always friendly and efficient. My beverage always tastes great and the store is always clean. They are doing a great job at spacing out customers and enforcing masks. My only complaint is that this parking lot is tight. The service here is not good. The first time I went during the week at 5:20 am. I ordered my drink and the barista had a long conversation with a customer. Which is fine but was not multi tasking, was just talking. The second time same time and during the week the girl taking my order could not get on her register and asked her coworker for help. The coworker had no sense of urgency and took her sweet time providing help. The coworker who was asked to help was doing nothing. When I come in at this time I'm on my way to work so I'm in a hurry. Its not very busy at this time so I'm not sure why there is such a lack of customer service. It is frustrating and I will not go here any more. read more

Any time I stop in, the staff is always hustling to do their best, and Melissa goes above and beyond to greet and assist in all aspects necessary! The hard work she put into Peet's day in and day out shows in every aspect of the shop! It's rare these days to get remembered on a first name basis, and I have seen people time and time again walk in, that is given a warm greeting which I can imagine is why people continue to seek out this location aside from the great menu options. I come here every Saturday morning around 10:30 and the same gal is always at the register taking orders- she does a great job. However, the rest of the staff is SO unprofessional- speaking about personal matters, laughing and joking, without a sense of urgency or any regard for the presence of customers waiting patiently in a very long line. Today, for the first time I tried Peets Coffee joint up, it was great. I really enjoyed having people around me that value their customers. Service, coffee, and treats to a 100% satisfaction in every level. There was a short wait time obcourse, people needed coffee shots after black friday lol but just made my day walking into a warm welcome enviroment. Im new to Santa Rosa, just moved in October. Time to freshen up my Peet's review. Management has changed - and Peet's still serves good coffee and people hang out there: Old codgers hanging in the dark corners slowly drinking their coffee with their backs to the wall watching the room with steely eyes. A table of asians cluster "for two" tables to drink their coffee from stainless steel tumblers while an old lady with a perpetual smile on her face gnaws on an ear of sweet corn that I don't think she got from the Peet's display case. A little girl outside scoots on her butt across the garden wall to get closer to a crown finch while her father pauses to photograph the event. A poignant moment for me as as I remember my own daughter - a moment to be forgotten for an eternity by the father and daughter outside the window as a trivial moment. A big biker with lots to tats wearing shorts and a tee shirt orders coffee... the back of his tee shirt says, "Ride it like you stole it". I like it, but if I drove my tractors like I stole them, I'd probably be dead years ago. On the wall is a tasteful advertisement of cappuccino art - normally a flower or a heart being made, but this one is a phallic symbol. For the barista's lover, the boss is away and he's having a little fun or that customer who keeps coming in and ordering a cappuccino under the name of "Donald Trump". So many possibilities. I am spoiled. I live in Berkeley and go to the original Peet's store on Vine Street. Amazing customer service, and the coffee is always brewed fresh. I'm in Santa Rosa visiting family. Drive to this Peet's on an early Saturday morning. There are 5 people working behind the counter and three customers, including myself. I ordered a medium cup of decaf and a pastry. The two employees at the check-in counter seem confused as to who does what. After a few minutes, I get my pastry. I wait 5 minutes more and realize that my coffee order has been forgotten. Finally I ask if they are brewing decaf coffee and get a "yes" and no further information. After another five minutes I hear one of the employees ask the other, "what size was the decaf coffee?", the other employee says, "a large", which isn't the case. The employees pours a large cup of decaf, puts it on the counter, and as she turns away says, "thanks for waiting". There was zero sincerity, no eye contact, and I was fairly irritated with the unnecessary wait time, the lack of an apology, and the general confusion and lack of customer service. Addendum: I'm at this Peet's store again. It's a busy Saturday once more, so I expect service will be slow, and I was right...all too right. I was first in the line but the cashier was bagging beans. There were 5 other staff busily working away. It appears that they get so many online orders they can barely keep up. Because of that, the customers in the store experience delayed service. I waited 12 minutes as the line behind me grew to 7 people. To their credit, the cashier did acknowledge those of us in the line. Unfortunately, they then had to fill up the milk and half and half, then pour coffees for customers who had been waiting before me. Finally they called me over and took my order. A new pot of decaf was being brewed. I waited another 5 minutes. The cashier was very nice but the whole operation seemed chaotic. Sad to see. read more

they switched to paper straws, which makes absolutely no sense to me since the cups are completely plastic. please consider switching the cups to paper and switching back to plastic straws. i hate feeling like im drinking out of a toilet paper tube, and the thing falls apart inside the coffee and at the base of the lid. it would be easier drinking out of a licorice than one of these horrible paper straws. the coffee was good and the service was fine. read more

Staff are awesome ,parking can be tricky as its off the main road and on a corner with lots of traffic at peak times. Not too thrilled about the beggars with or without dogs that hang out on the sidewalk there. I have given them food and coffee before ,however when it's been 3 months and they haven't moved on , it becomes a pain when you just want to get your coffee and go ! LOVE love love Peet's! This is my 2nd favorite location but the one with the best (IMHO) customer service! I have a Keurig with a reusable pod (solofil) so I can use my own coffee and it can be a trick getting the grind right. One afternoon, the manager on staff, Ms. Kidd, gave me 5 coffee samples of varying grind levels then didn't charge me. She was completely aware that this small gesture would likely be creating a recurring customer....and she was right! The oatmilk options are amazing. I love Peets and make a point to stop here every time I'm in town. I was in the middle of a long drive and stopped in. The wait was long but I figured the barista was busy. I waited patiently then stepped up to the register as I thought maybe they thought I was still deciding. When my order was taken I handed the barista money and he said "no I made you wait too long it's on me". This location is interesting. I LOVE Peet's, so I will remain loyal wherever I am. But the vibe in this store is off. 1. Why are ALL of the employees white women? You mean to tell me that no one else has applied?? 2. I think maybe the manager intimidates the employees - they are all clearly trained to be as nice as humanly possible - but it is oddly forced. Employees look robotic, never make any personal conversation, only fake laughs and apologies everywhere. Fatal mistake: I arrived at a little after 10am. The line to order was long and not moving. When I did get to the register a friendly young man took my order for a pumpkin latte. When I showed him the $1 off pumpkin beverage offered upon check in at this Peet's location he was uncertain what to do. He called over a young blond woman who instantly said they couldn't honor their deal. She gave several excuses including it must be expired, it must be at select locations, they needed a code and that was the way they were trained. I walked her through the steps I had taken to check in, open the deal with details and then to mark the deal used. She just kept arguing her point. Unbelievable! It was not the $1 that I cared about but her terrible customer service, unwillingness to budge and arguing something so ridiculous with a customer was astounding. I nearly cancelled my order but I carried on and paid. The young man taking my order apologized profusely. Even he could see that how she mishandled the situation was likely to cost the business a customer. I will not be back after nearly 4 years of frequenting this location. Coffee & food arte standard Peet's fare: good & reliable. This particular one has massive windows that get afternoon Sun, which makes it quite bright for laptop use & makes it rather hot inside. It's likely I'll syrup coming to this one for those two reasons, tho other patrons may like these things about this spot. read more

My coffee was made wrong and normally I wouldn't give a measly one star because of this but when I asked them to make the coffee I ordered they acted like it was a big deal. There is nothing worse to me than a poor service. Had they remade the coffee happily a simple error wouldn't be a big deal. The coffee is good. It's clean. There aren't a lot of people working and the counter is a little small for such a large volume of customers. They were really fast though. The staff just seemed pretty intelligent but may need to communicate with each other more - the person at the register noticed we were wearing name tags so didn't ask for our names and we're pretty exhausted so it threw us that they knew. the only guy working wasn't like friendly to the staff or customers (he may just be way over caffeinated) he was talking over the other employee who had our drink and it like caused a whole little mix up where our drink ended up being thrown away. My favorite worker here is Rosie. Always so polite and helpful. Wish I could say the same of others. While no one else has ever been rude to me, they haven't been as happy or friendly as Rosie. The coffee goes without saying. Everything Peet's makes is 10x better than Starbucks. I've tried a variety of their coffees and teas...and I've never been disappointed. Love their golden chai when it's in season. The sugar free vanilla latte has the perfect amount of sweetness. And the Mendicino location is my favorite. Clean, spacious and usually always has seating. I like Cotati, but it's usually too crowded with long lines and no seating. I just wish they had more locations. But then again, they probably wouldn't be as good if they did. I wouldn't want them becoming another Starbucks. read more

Definitely one of the nicer, newer, more spacious Peet's. I prefer this location to downtown because they've got their own parking lot (free), and more seating. The people watching isn't as good as downtown, because you've got mostly business people at the Mendo location, so the atmosphere is much more subdued. Huge, clean bathrooms are a bonus, too. I frequently plan business meetings and interviews in coffee shops, so plenty of seating and unlimited parking is a must. This Peets location has passed my test! read more

This Peets has the best service. The employees are always friendly. Drinks are prepared promptly and with a smile. I have never come to this location and not been impressed by the service which is saying a lot. Bonus points that there are always Yelp check-in deals for this location. The layout of this Peet's is very nice. There are a number of tables on one side, and on the other are big arm chairs. Along the window is a nice bar and outside a huge patio right on Mendocino. The way the sections of the store are divided prevents it from ever getting super loud - great if you are trying to get work done here. The attached parking lot to this Peet's is quite small. However, I've never had trouble finding a spot, so it seems like it is just the perfect size. read more
