I've tried the fish tacos and the pork belly tacos and both are amazing. Last night I tried the fresh fruit margarita of the day which was Prickly Pear. I was hesitant but oh man was it delicious. Also, the sampler appetizer with guac, queso, and 2 salsa choices is the way to go. read more

I have been a fan since it replaced Coastal Cactus, at Seagate North. Now it has moved north a few miles and has been open a month. Fresh tacos with various fillings, burritos (one 15 inch?), and other mex items. I had a flounder on potato salad for dinner and it may have been the best meal of this trip. The space doesn't have the character of the old location, and the service is spotty ( a margarita ordered mid meal showed up at meals end, and no crowd to blame). I will attribute this to their working the kinks out. read more

Brisket taco was great. The mahi mahi fish taco was amazing; Extremely fresh fish! Blue berry mojito and blueberry margarita were strong and served in the wrong glassware, but were tasty. Sauce on the smothered chicken burrito was really good. Grilled chicken, bacon, and avocado wrap was a nice menu option and really good! Decided to try this based on really good Yelp rating. Should have passed. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately my chicken burrito was too salty to eat. Great restaurant but missing that 5 star satisfaction. Now don't get me wrong the food is great the atmosphere is great but something about the service just seemed off. Bringing out 3 wrong orders to our table gave us the impression that they didn't seem to be interested in our table. However the food was great, after looking at other reviews we had to try the pork belly tacos and my brother can confirm they were super good. The mushroom and feta cheese quesadilla was also really good, would recommend. So overall the restaurant was really good and had a lot of highs (another being the warm chips) but the service just didn't seem totally there for me. read more

Best Queso on the beach! I spread my love of mexican food to the restaurants around the beach, each has their specialties but I have to say Bad Bean is one of the best! Their Queso is hands down one of the best and they have a salsa for everyone. Their regular menu is delicious but the clipboard specials is where its at! Check out the pork belly taco of the day and if they happen to have duck on the menu when you are there, take a chance and try it before its gone! read more

We felt like some Mexican cuisine, so the 8 of us chose the Baja Grill based on Yelp reviews. We weren't sorry! All of the salsas were very flavorful, and the guacamole was excellent with the chips. The wings on the appetizer menu were outstanding! A must-have! They only offer one flavor, but that's all they need. We had the fish special for the evening, the fish burrito, the Giant Cali beef burrito and the chicken quesadilla. Everything was full of flavor and fresh. I had a cantaloupe mojito that was perfect. Cudos to the chef! Sophia waited on us. She was attentive, informative and so polite. I highly recommend this place for dinner. It was my best meal out on the island so far. Read up on the place before hand and reviews were promising. As a vegan its always more difficult to find dining options and menus with suitable meals. They accommodated my requirements and I had some very good guacamole, followed by two delicious tacos (tofu and bean, without the dairy). Ordered it was hot and it was certainly spicy. Very friendly service. Pretty basic decor, but otherwise a great spot for very good food, which can cater for many dietary needs. read more

I love this place....the taco's are fantastic, the service is great (super bartenders). My husband doesn't particularly like salsa yet he loves Bad Beans Salsa and we usually end up with fighting chips in the salsa bowl. We've taken all our family to Bad Bean when they visit. read more

It is always hard to find a great Mexican Resturant especially on vacation but Bad Bean was quite a surprise. We had the nachos and the pickled onions were fantastic!The shrimp burrito was flavorful and savory! Priced appropriately at 13.00 it quite the bargain! We will definitely go back! read more

Their salsa is outstanding, the margaritas are my wife's favorite on the Outer Banks, and the nachos (to which we add brisket) are fabulous. The food was great but the hostess, different ones, both times I went was not very friendly. Almost rude. Other than that, everything was great. It would be nice to have more than one cup of salsa for free with your chips just because you are a customer, the salsa is gone way before the chips! Overall it was a good experience and the food was really great, but I would like to see the hostess be more friendly and welcoming. That means a lot! This restaurant is missing this. Hands down the best tacos, and dips that I have ever had (Mexican food is my favorite). Pork taco and soft shell crab tacos were packed with flavor. The pork taco is my favorite and is juicy and tender. May I suggest adding a little queso to the tacos for some added flavor?? Other than that I love this restaurant and it is my favorite and I highly recommend it to everyone. The only downfall is no happy hour or drink specials during the summer?? read more

I've been coming here for years. The food is generally awesome, super fresh tacos with great flavor profiles, really terrific homemade salsas, excellent reasonably priced margaritas. The servers are even more awesome, genuinely lovely people who are attentive, efficient and fun to chat with. Normally, that would add up to a 5-star review, but not this time. Why? The absolutely awful head-banging music played at top volume, song after hideous heavy metal song, blaring out through the restaurant. What are they thinking? Most of the diners the recent evening we were there were in their sixties or seventies. I mean seriously, folks, get a clue. So there's that. And the guacamole isn't really very good, just OK. Other than that, I would give it 5 stars easy. But the music alone is making me question whether I will ever go back. So loud, such crappy music. read more
