I reviewed this spot a while ago, but our renewed patronage as parents warrants a second review. I swear the burgers got better. They're a pretty standard fast food joint, but you can tell the food is made to order for the most part. The burgers are substantial and filling, and the sides (fries and tots) are a decent size too. They also have a drive-thru, which is clutch. I didn't get one this time but definitely recommend a shake from this place too! The only reason it's not a repeat five-star is we've had our order messed up a handful of times since then, with one time it getting completely lost and no one told us. Signs say they open at 7:30. Website says 7:30. Sat in drive-thru from 7:20 until 7:42. Had a car behind me waiting as well. Nothing. At 7:42 I called store phone number and asked what time they open. The lady said 7:30. Either open for business at the time you say you open, or change your advertised time. Covid was a long time ago. No more lazy excuses or just don't go into business. Lots of other options out there. And for goodness sake, it is a drive-thru. I understand why they're called Bad Boy. Because of the tasteless frozen hamburgers they serve. You know, the ones that come in a stack with the holes in them. Guess it's too much work to get your own fresh beef and make them into patties. Luckily, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. At least the bacon gave it some flavor. I normally eat at the Vista location of this business, but on 8/17/22, I went through the drive-through window of the Fairview Avenue location. I was surprised to see that despite the information I found online, this location does not offer a daily combo special. The only daily combo special still available, but every day of the week instead of one, is the Guacamole Burger with Swiss cheese. Anything else you want to combo cost four dollars extra. I didn't really want to pay $11 plus for the Bacon Cheeseburger I had intended to order, so I ordered the Patty Melt Combo ($12.83). However, before doing so I made sure that they had rye bread and we're going to grill the onions. It never occurred to me to ask if they would put Swiss cheese on it, because everyone who knows anything at all about Patty Melts understands that part of what makes it that is the Swiss cheese. And I already knew they had Swiss cheese because of their daily special, the guacamole and Swiss burger combo. So, imagine my surprise when I get back to the office and discover my patty melt was made with cheddar cheese. Who in their right mind does that? If I had wanted a burger with cheddar, I would've ordered a cheeseburger instead of a patty melt. To add insult to injury, I had to pay $.60 for my fry sauce, in addition to the four dollar price of combine my meal. I wasn't expecting a restaurant quality patty melt from a fast food burger joint, but I was expecting better than what I received. Lesson learned. In the future, I will stick to the Vista location of this business. read more

I love this classic drive thru burger joint! Well, technically they are so much more! They offer standard drive in options, including chicken, burgers and breakfast. However, they have tasty options for more substantial meals. Fish n chips, in point! Kids options? Yep! Scotch n Soda? Yum! They run "daily specials" but you can actually request them any day. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I can see why the staff works here customer service skills are very poor. Gave the wrong order to us and we paid a lot of money and they could not even fix the problem. Drove through to pickup my order through the drive thru it was around 10 in the morning on 6/21/21. I had let a girl know I had arrived for my order through the intercom. After a long wait and no hello we still have a few minutes on your order or anything I decided to call and she answered I had let her know again that I was there waiting and I was unsure if they had forgotten about me she said very rudely and snobby sounding no we didn't it just got done. I could see her pickup the phone and she looked so irritated she grabbed a bag that was right in front of the phone and it was my burrito. She walked over to hand it to me like she was going to throw it at me and slammed the window no hello no thank you no would you like any hot sauce???.... I have been coming here for almost 20 years. I've had just about everything on the menu more than once. The burgers are great. Fries come in a sack and are more than anyone can eat-get them extra crispy and you will not regret it. Milkshakes are on point and the regular crew is always nice and helpful. Always has a steady car or two in the drive thru or a table in the dining room. Prices have gone up but it's better to support local than a chain any day. Always happy to give them my business. I get prices have increased but theirs not only increased by 20% but they charge you more that what is posted on their menu, they now charge for replacing ranch with fry sauce which they never did before (and $1.00 to boot), are rude when asked about it, then still want a tip for doing their job. This is an above average place to grab a burger. The physical restaurant itself is nothing to write home about. Small (probably a dozen tables/booths), and my table was wobbly. Some of the seats had noticeable rips that come with aging. The burger I got was the double bacon cheeseburger, quite good and juicy. The fries are about average quality, and I'm not sure why someone complained about having to pay for fry sauce, as they gave me an entire bottle of it with my meal. This fast food/divey burger joint is certainly better than the national chains, and it's always good to support local businesses. I'll eat here again! read more

Not a bad burger place. I've had their food twice now. The first time I got a double bacon burger... this time I got the bad buy burger ($5.35). It's basically the same thing, but the bad boy has chili in it - huge and messy. The burger was alright, but not the best I've ever had. I think the chili makes it all a bit TOO soggy. I remember having the double bacon burger and I think that one was a bit better. You get a HUGE mess of fries for $.95 - and they're not bad at all. For a quarter more, you can get some fry sauce which ain't bad, either. read more

Needed breakfast burritos and YELP led us here. Entered and we were greeted by a super friendly girl (dark hair and bubbly). We knew what we wanted so we ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and a bacon and sausage breakfast burrito. She suggest do the salsa and sour cream but we were gonna be driving so it wouldn't work for us. That being said the burritos had great flavor and they were BIG! Loaded with meat, potato, and eggs. My wife and I had recently tried the Bad Boy Burgers on Vista, so we decided to give the Fairview location a try. I would say that although my initial inclination was that I was going to love this spot, the experience ended up being pretty ordinary. It wasn't bad, just not very memorable. The burger was kind of bland, and the fries were kind of off. The service was fine, but not as fun as the Vista location. Since we don't frequent this area of town too much, I don't know if we will be back any time soon, but I wouldn't mind giving them a second chance sometime in the future, since I do love the small private burger joints. read more

Burned a Groupon to take the family for some cheeseburgers. Really more of a "gut bomb" sort of burger, like Five Guys. Also had the fried zucchini, which was excellent when hot and fresh, but not so good when it cooled off. Not bad if you're in the neighborhood, but not really worth the drive from Eagle Road. I will start with saying the food is awesome! When there's not a ton of hair in it. It's a good thing my family wasn't too grossed out about it as we had small hairs in all of our food. Picked them off then still ate our food. The service was not great at all, the kid could hardly give us the time of day, we ordered four meals. For our family at lunch time. it seemed to be such an inconvenience after our first meal. Even with the attitude we still tipped some because I still try to be nice. then he handed out our food and closed the door in our face before we couldn't even say what we wanted to say. Which was to ask for an extra sauce. Since we have a picky eater who won't hardly eat anything without sauces. We waited several minutes at the window and as we were pulling away he noticed we were there. He opened the window and just stared at us until We told him we just needed some sauces and he was not happy. If they costed extra we would have paid. He Didn't ask what kind or what we needed he just walked away before we could even finish and left us confused, then came back with one sauce that wasn't even what we wanted. Man oh man. I love Bad Boys. I've been coming here since freshman year in college. It's your hidden gem. I love "hole in a wall" places because they make the best food. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or a late night burger they don't disappoint. I love their prices. So cheap for breakfast! $7 for chicken fried steak or $4 for their delicious breakfast burritos. When I came in today, Liz helped me out and she was a doll. I had just gotten a new card and it was having problems (typical with switching over to a new bank) and she made sure that I as taken care of as I counted out what change I had. She didn't make me feel embarrassed I mean it happens to all of us. Regardless of me being a regular, she treated everyone with the same respect. I love that. Good employees are a dime a dozen. What I recommend: Chicken fried steak Sausage burrito with their hot sauce. French toast Biscuits & gravy All super cheap! Lunch Their burgers, I always go for the daily special combo Tuna melt, not in the menu but they'll make it for you anyway you want Onion rings and fries are delicious. Just had breakfast for the second time at BBB. The first time was pretty good, the pancakes are actually better than some of the "sit down" places around here, but this morning the eggs were burned, and the meat was not the one I ordered. I ordered the link sausage and what I got was slab bacon that was nearly burned to a crisp. Having no teeth, I very seldom order bacon, as it very rarely gets cooked to my liking. I have no doubt that I'll be back, but as of now it's not my favorite place for breakfast and they're going to have to work really hard to earn that spot on my list. read more

I got the double bacon cheese burger which is my favorite thing to get there. Its juicy and huge! The only thing I hate is you get charged for fry sauce, its the only sauce you need to dip your burger and fries in. This is my hangover burger if you ever want to feel better. Another of the local burger joints and this one seems to be less institutionalized. Burger is meaty, but not a ton of burger flavor. Bacon is oddly a bit light on flavor. Fries are plentiful and of the larger variety. Zucchini is very solid, perhaps my favorite part. Soda selection is acceptable. Inside is definitely closer to the local dive kind of feel and it's a touch on the small side. I had a sourdough thing, hoping for a sort of combination between a grilled cheese sandwich and a burger, but for what I had in mind, the burger patty was too thick. It was definitely a solid meal for the price, but it falls somewhere in the middle, have had both better and worse. It's another that offers breakfast all day apparently also...there were some other menu items of interest as well. I'd say overall it merits another shot if I'm in the area and want a burger. read more

Both Bad Boy locations offer the same good food, but I like this one a little more with the enclosed seating area, and the conversations I overhear from the employees at this location crack me up sometimes. Bad Boy is my second-favorite burger joint to Big Jud's, but it's more like a #1 and #1A than a #1 and #2. The burgers are big and tasty, and I love how soft the buns always are. They have other sandwich options, but I go there for the burgers. Where Big Jud's has the advantage is with their hand-cut fries, which are some of the best in the city. That's not to say the ones at Bad Boy are bad. They're actually pretty solid, and you get a ton of them for a buck (there's only one size for fries). The amount you get puts the dollar value options at fast-food places to shame. You could feed three small children on the fries alone. Good burgers + good value = good burger place. This was probably one of the best old fashioned burger experiences I've had. Taste was great onion rings crispy and tasty. Menu was a great variety. I just wished they had a "ham" option outside of the bacon option. Bacon is everywhere, a nice hardy ham/Canadian bacon option would be my go to all day long. read more
