Wow, one star is reserved for blatant mismanagement. If your employees screw up then management makes it right, correct? Not here. They were training on a Friday night (really??). Finger steaks served instead of chicken strips ordered. Shift manager refused to take it back or comp it. Charged again, still no chicken strips. Called and talked to a manager later in the week and received excuses, lies, and still no offer to make it right. Customer blamed. I think the owners may have become complacent here, success can do that. The hamburgers are great but the management oversight seems to be gone now. Sad. read more

Have been a customer of hamburger connection for 43 years. They have the best milkshakes in the valley, worth the drive. Try an ice cream cone, they pride themselves on how tall they can make it. My favorite meal is the finger steaks with tater tots. The service is always quick, efficient and friendly even when the line is out the door and the drive thru is down the block. They come out to get extra orders to make it quicker. read more

I got the banana and choco brownie milkshake and my bf got the strawberry milkshake. Both medium sizes came up to $12.00. The price for both of the shakes is worth it! Fresh banana in the shake with small chunks of chocolate brownies. Fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream blended all together. I would recommend everyone to come over and grab themselves a milkshake. Terrible food, I'm sorry to say. Purchased a chocolate shake, onion rings and a large fry. First off, the service attitude is stellar, they are extremely kind and friendly. That earned them one extra star. The food was not so good. The fry's had no salt on them. The fry sauce was horrendous! It tasted spoiled. They gave us three cups, they must have been trying to get rid of them. They do not serve Ranch with their onion rings. What is that all about? My rings were just short of being burnt. We found 3 salt packets under my onion rings. We are assuming these were for the fry's. If so, put the salt with the fry's, not at the bottom of my rings. After we found the salt for the fry's, they were now cold so we fed them to the birds. The chocolate shake was great as always. $14.17 seems a bit high for our order to me. read more

10th Avenue in Caldwell has always been the fast food Avenue. There used to be many good options, but post pandemic most have become completely disappointing. Hamburger Connection is a local darling and has been consistently good, and now may be the last good option left on 10th. My advice is drive past all the other places and get in line. read more

We love the onion rings and shakes. My husband is not so taken by the burgers. The service has always been friendly and only disadvantage at busy times is the cars line up out in the street so if you come off 10th you need to travel down the block and get turned around. We learned of this burger stand last summer, yet never had a chance to visit it until recently. We visited the Hamburger Connection about two weeks ago and have been back twice since the initial visit. Our friends affectionately nicknamed this place, "Crack Burger" as their hamburgers are addicting. Probably one of the best burger places in the Treasure Valley. read more

I've driven by this little drive-thru several times while in Caldwell on business, and it worked out on this trip that I hadn't yet eaten lunch, so it made sense to pop in. I turned off the main street, and through the Walgreen's parking lot to hit the drive-thru and that's when I noticed there was a line out onto the street ... at 2:45 in the afternoon! A good sign ... I ordered a burger and a shake. The Connection Special, $3.49. Single patty, sauce, onion, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, cheese (hold the cheese for me, though). Medium Chocolate Shake, $3.79. The hamburger was the kind of burger you get at a dive. The sauce was sort of like fry sauce, but a little different flavor. Whatever it is, it's delicious. And the burger had exactly of the right amount of everything - shredded lettuce, pickles, tomato, the sauce; the size of the patty and the bun were the perfect ratio. The chocolate shake was THICK - just like it says on the menu. There is no lid and no straw; it comes with a spoon. The chocolate was very good with a subtle malt taste to it. The only problem is that it's difficult to drive and drink this shake because you can't really drink it. So just know that .... but it was so so so good. So, I have waited a while before making a review to see if Sarah or Kevin would return my call regarding my experience on Making 16, 2023. I am someone who supports small businesses and give many chances to a business to see if maybe it was an off day or not. I live in the far end of Nampa and travel to hamburger connection for their ice cream. It's a family outing that everyone is excited for. I love how the young ones are learning responsibility and how to work and get experience. Well it been quite a few times I've been very disappointed with the customer service I get from the manager when a mistake has been made by one of the young employees. Last night just topped it off. I went to hamburger connection with my family and decided to order something different because I always ordered a large chocolate cone. I ordered a large chocolate cone in a cup add banana and add peanut butter. The young lady wasn't sure if I could order that so she asked the manager Annette, the manager seemed very overwhelmed and had an attitude and said just charge her for a Sunday. All I wanted was chocolate ice cream with banana and peanut butter. Super simple and not confusing. So when we got our orders my family got what they ordered and mine was completely not what I ordered. So I told the girl what is this? I asked for chocolate ice cream not vanilla. The young girl went to Annette and told her something about the mess up and she claimed the girl didn't hear me and I said she did hear me and even asked you and you rudely would not help her understand so the order got messed up. Well Annette didn't like that and acted like it was an inconvenience to remake my order. She scooped out the banana and peanut butter covered in vanilla ice cream and put half a cup of chocolate in it and threw the vanilla covered ingredients back into the cup with half of what I paid for missing. I really didn't want to deal with Annette the manager after her nasty attitude she had. I was very clear with what I wanted and was willing to pay for it, but for a manager to behave like that is completely unprofessional and wrong. What's the point of making an order if you're going to give me what you choose and I have to be happy with it. I ended up throwing it away. On top of it all why would the owners not return calls when they have signs to let them know how they are doing. That just makes you look bad as a small business owner. I will say this, after time and time again of bad service and attitudes I will no longer support this small business. I hope this helps some people, please don't support people who take advantage of their customers and can care less. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while but always end up thinking about it on Sunday which is when they aren't open. The wait was worth it. The burger was the best we've had in a long time. Tots were cooked perfectly... you could tell the fryer oil was clean (I ran a kitchen in college.. if you know you know). The Finger Steaks were ok- nothing wrong with them just nothing special either. We will for sure be trying them again for the burgers and to check out the mile high shakes. read more

Was going to pick up lunch from here for the first time for the whole family today. I needed to take a left to turn into the drive thru but the line was all the way to the street so I waited with my turn signal on so as not to block oncoming traffic. During the 10 minute wait and none of the previous cars moving, 2 new cars pulled up coming the opposite way to take a right into the drive thru (also having to wait on the street). A girl came out to start taking the next guest's order and the line moved forward. The first of the cars that had pulled up after me waved for me to go ahead as he had seen me waiting before him. The worker then approached my window and told me I needed to go to the back of line as she assumed I was cutting. I stated that I had been there before the other cars but waiting with my turn signal on coming from the other direction so as not to block traffic and she still stated I needed to move to the back of the line because she "didn't see me and I just don't think that's true." I wasted 15 minutes waiting to order food my family will never get to try because we will not be returning after this experience. read more

Very good burgers, but they wouldn't let me inside!! I had to eat from the back of my rickshaw (my nephew was willing to take me down to the hamburger store). While I was initially outraged, seeing the delicious food and service and menu infographic made my heart swell with delight. the ice cream here has always been one of my favorites , decided to stop here after work to treat myself. went through the drive through and began my order, asked for a banana shake. the person taking my order said "connection special? " i was confusedwhat that was so i said "whats that ? I'm honestly shocked. After seeing all of the amazing reviews for this places and just moving into town, I thought this was going to be a new frequent spot for me and I was so excited! But it was worst than I could've anticipated. Two meals costed us 30 bucks and fast food would've been prepared better (which says a lot). Fries were unseasoned and cold, buns on the burger and all of the food truly was so soggy it was inedible, and it was all thrown into a tiny bag where everything spilled out at the bottom. We also tried the shakes, also a disappointment. It was melted and made with tiny chunks of freezer burnt fruit. I'm sad to say I will not be going back and will be trying Jack's Drive-In next. read more
