    Yummy sweet potato fries
    Bessy P.

Food is always fresh and served fast. The cashier was friendly and the food was delicious. The restaurant has plenty seating inside and parking was easy. This was way better than waiting in line at the in and out down the street. You could never go wrong with an old fashion burger and their banana milk shake is the best I've had so far. I love it here. It never disappoints.

Receipt from today (07/03/2024). 60c for Onions is ridiculous!

I've been coming here for 53 years (since 1971). I've always loved this place. After a long absence, I stopped by for lunch today. (Their limited hours, and the fact I live on the other side of Boise, means I don't think of them as often as I used to). The crinkle fries were as delicious as they've always been- hot, salty, and tasty! The double burger is bigger than I expected, and really good, other than I'm not used to someone putting SO MUCH MUSTARD on a burger. (It's a condiment, not the main course!) I don't like their stubby styrofoam drink cups (not a good fit in the cup holder) but all in all, this was a good meal. The fries seemed expensive, but whatever- all fast food is expensive these days. At least this is better quality. Now for the missing 2 stars: The burger comes with Tomato, Lettuce, Mustard, Sauce, and Pickles. I only wanted Mustard and Onions. I get that profit margins are razor thin, but charging 60 cents for onions is ridiculous. Maybe I should have asked them to "substitute" the onions for the more expensive vegetables, and they wouldn't have treated it as an "add-on." But since I did not know I'd be charged, I simply asked for Mustard and Onion only. I can well afford 60 cents, but it's the principle of it all. Next time, I'll ask for the Tomatoes, Lettuce, Pickles on the side, and make sure I'm getting what I'm paying for, even if I don't want them, and just throw them away. Hey- if they're going to be petty, I can be too. Someone at the store thought gouging the customer for 60 cents was a good idea, but I won't be back anytime soon as a result, so was that charge really a good policy, Golden Wheel? Sad :-(

Hot delicious perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries, in my opinion.

I wish I could give more stars, but Golden Wheel is still struggling. A family tragedy hit them hard, so we need to show grace here. My favorite thing on the menu is their crinkle cut fries with a delicious ketchup, fry sauce or ranch, but a Large fry is $4.75 plus tax, with a tiny tip, it comes to $6. I can't remember paying $6 for just fries at any drive in. I think the hamburgers are fine, but have also gone up in price. I know everything has gone up in price everywhere, but what I fear is the local loyal families who have always enjoyed here and supported them will no longer be able to treat their families much longer. I wish them luck.

I understand that lack of people wanting to work these days! When I went there to pick up a couple of meals, they make it on order...which is beautiful in itself. No one wants a burger that's just been hanging around for 12 hours!! Ordered 3 burgers, 2 fries and a shake. I concur with other yelpers...get fries and a shake!! Those were delicious! Go spend your hard earned bucks on an actual cheeseburger.

Definitely not the Golden Wheel I remember from years ago. The (very young immature) staff were not helpful almost bordering on rude, the place was a mess inside, you could see from the walk up window where you order, there was a mop bucket with mop in the middle of the kitchen, they had a few tables outside but the light was 1/2 burnt out. If we were not starving we would have gone elsewhere. The food.... was just ok , again not what I remember it being like. I ordered the teriyaki chicken burger & fries, my husband order a burger but I do t recall which one. My chick was dry and did not taste like teriyaki at all so I asked for more sauce and they gave me some, but it didn't really improve the sandwich. Oh well lesson learned. Not going to go back. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of my sandwich

The burger itself was outstanding--perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and the toppings were balanced just right without overwhelming the burger. Even the bun was soft yet held everything together perfectly, which is something a lot of places overlook. What really stood out was the attention to detail across the whole meal. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and everything came out hot and fresh without a long wait. It's clear this place cares about consistency and customer experience. Whether you're just stopping in for a quick bite or looking for a go-to burger spot, this place absolutely delivers. We will definitely be coming back again and recommending it to anyone who appreciates a truly great burger. Location is fun with other restaurants nearby. Must visit!

I got the classic burger, and sweet potato waffle fries. The smash burger was good, but the fries were the best part. Crispy on the outside with sweet potato sweetness on the inside. My kid on the other hand didn't like his chicken tenders, which is just a chicken sandwich patty sliced up. I ate a chicken strip and could see why he didn't like them, they're lacking the breading all the way around, but they weren't bad. The service is top notch, the guy calling out the orders came to our table to differentiate each burger. The place gets busy but they handle the crowds well and move the line quickly. Overall it was a pretty good experience. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

This time I had their limited Colorado Burger and it was actually really tasty. These are the ingredients, it had an Angus Beef double patty, grilled green chilies, melted aged cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, lettuce, tomato, mayo, all on a spicy chipotle bun. The green chilies and bun were hardley spicey at all, but the pepper jack cheese did bring a little heat that was balanced out by the cheddar cheese. The bun was good but the bottom bun was to greasy, but thats an easy fix with some training. The restaurant was clean and presentable with nothing really unique about it. The costumer service was great. This place revamped their entire burger menu and spice blend in late 2024 and I think they are on the right trend forward. I wasn't a fan before but they grew on me with this burger and I will try others in the near future.

It came with tomato, red onions and a green leaf lettuce leaf and dill pickle slices. A little messy to eat - maybe they can use a wrap like most other burger places do. I also got a fountain drink and liked their variety of drink options at the self serve station. There's nothing really smashed about this burger except the name. I thought the very definition of a smash burger is one round mound of ground beef that is smashed on the grill to cook it. Shouldn't they be irregularly shaped with charred meat on the outer parts of the patty? This burger was none of that. However, the burger was well priced and tasted just fine. I liked the large bun with my burger and the drink cups are nicely insulated too. A good value but they remind me of a burger from The Habit for some reason instead of a true smash burger like I get from a lot of other places. A great smash burger comparison is a smash burger from Daddyburger in Tucson or Smash that Burger in Seattle. Now those are great smash burgers that I hoped this place would've been. Maybe this company needs to get back to its roots?

It was always busy every time I stopped in. With my new kidney, I wanted to be cautious with the amount of people I'm around. Now that Raising Canes has been open for a hot minute, I felt like the crowd to be a lot smaller and safer for me to be inside the dining area. Greg helped us today at the register. He was really patient with us since it was my husband's first time eating there. I snagged the 3 piece naked combo and my husband got the chicken sandwich. He is a cheese lover so he was bummed that he couldn't add cheese to his sandwich but he still had high hopes that it will be good. My husband's meal did come out first. For some reason they dropped the ball on my meal. There were quite a few people that got their meals ahead of me that ordered after us. I wasn't sweating it but I knew Greg was on top of it. As soon as my food was ready, Greg hand delivered my meal which was nice since they usually call you up to grab your food. It was nice that Greg made sure we were aware that he didn't forget about me. What I noticed last time I ate at RC was how small the tenders were when you ordered them naked. I only got the tenders last time and at 2 bucks a tender, I really felt like I was being ripped off. Today I got the 3 piece naked but was given 4 pieces of chicken. Honestly, I don't know if I got the extra piece of chicken for them dropping the ball or because the chicken tenders were small. I guess the next time we come in, that will answer my million dollar question. While we were eating, Greg dropped off another sandwich meal for us to take home. He wanted to make sure that our experience was good since it was my husband's first meal there. I appreciate that Greg went above and beyond to make sure we left happy. The customer service Greg gave us today was fantastic! Only if all customer service can be like Greg's. I know a lot of businesses would prosper! I enjoyed the vibe of RC. The dico balls, the music and the chill atmosphere of the joint. It was fun experiencing all of that with my husband. My chicken was tender. The fries were crispy and salty. I got to see what the hype was all about with the bread and Canes sauce. I'm happy I waited to eat inside so I can actually get the whole experience. I look forward to coming back and having more naked tendies.
