This is one of the nicest In-N-Outs I've ever been to. That might be because it's new. It might be because it's in... Idaho (gasp). First, I love that In-N-Out is expanding outside of California. For this location specifically. It's located right next to the Town Square Mall. The parking lot is a little difficult to navigate, BUT the parking lot is INSIDE another parking lot so the drive-thru line doesn't enter from or exit to a busy Street. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. And the food was exactly what you would expect from In-N-Out. It was actually a little bizarre, eating In-N-Out in Idaho. After a year and a half or so of hearing Boise locals rave about the In-N-Out by the mall on Milwaukee, we finally caved and made the pilgrimage -- a bold move for us. We drove in with the kind of sky-high expectations usually reserved for Michelin-starred tasting menus. The car line was a beast, snaking a solid 40 minutes deep, but I'll hand it to the crew: they kept things moving with the kind of cheerful efficiency you'd expect from a well-oiled machine, not a burger joint slammed on a Saturday. Genuine smiles, no attitude, just vibes. Bravo. And then... the food arrived. Cold. Not "fresh off the flat-top" cold, but a sad 9 minute cold. The fries had the tragic, limp texture of soggy cardboard rather than the crispy golden shatter we'd been promised by every Californian we've ever met. I went with the cheeseburger animal style, dreaming of that legendary sauce-drenched glory, while my GF ordered the Number 2 with pickles, hoping for burger nirvana. What we got instead was... fine. Edible. To be fair the food was fresh, well prepared and the taste was mediocrity good. A B-minus burger wearing an A-plus reputation like a costume. We went to Boise, ID for my granddaughter's wedding. We went with my Daughter and my Grandson. One night they were hungry coming home from our excursion and stopped at In-In-Out burger. We are from California where In-In-Out is very good and consistently delicious. I am afraid Idaho is getting the shaft. The food didn't taste anywhere close to as good as in California. My husband and I have been here a handful of times and it's always been great. The staff is always super nice! Food is great. My new vice here is the hot chocolate. I grab one after enjoying my flying Dutchmans. Grilled onion wrapped of course! I also found out that they have kids stickers. Jacob was sweet and gave me a few of them. So here is mine: I've been eating in n out since 2010, and ever since then, it's always something that I look forward eating to. The quality of food is always consistent every location you go to. Their staff are always amazing, kind, and smiling, and friendly. I always get their double-double with grilled onions, no tomatoes, no lettuce, with light well done fries. On healthier days, I get their protein style double double, and on not so healthy days, I get their animal style fries and their strawberry shake with my burger. Lines get pretty long, especially drive-thru, and it can get really busy and chaotic. Which sometimes can be annoying. But other than that, everything is good! read more

There are 3 In & Out Burgers now in Idaho & we went to the one in the perimeter of the Boise Town Square Mall that opened in 2024. We were so impressed with one in California 20+ years ago that when we find one we patronize. They have not come to the east coast yet. Now they sell shirts,gift cards & other merch. They have been around since 1948. motto is that their beef is never frozen & they use the freshest high quality ingredients & cleanliness you can see. There was a worker in white wiping & mopping the whole time we were here. It was very busy with lines inside @ at the drive through. We ordered in 5 minutes & waited :10 for our meal. I rarely encounter any problems with in n out. I ordered a double double, French fries and a coke. Food quality remains supreme. Customer service is also top notch. Facility looks super clean. My family came in and ordered a meal and I will just say that the burgers were wonderful! Everything tasted fresh and delicious as to be expected of such a popular chain. My only complaint is that the fries were mediocre at best, so unless you have sauces or get them Animal Style, I wouldn't recommend them. But besides that, it's a great place to eat! read more

In less than a year, In-N-Out has opened its first two restaurants in Idaho. Store 400 in Meridian opened in December 2023 and Store 413 opened here in Boise on Oct. 25. The same great food and fast, friendly service that is the hallmark of this company was evident at the opening of the Boise store. My suggestion: Order a doublemeat with whole grilled and whole raw onions, cold cheese and chopped chiles. This location, on the perimeter of the Boise Towne Square mall, will provide plenty of room to handle the expected crowds. read more

This place is a factory. We pulled up to see the drive-thru containing at least 20 cars. Decided to go in to be met by a completely full lobby. Decided to commit and order. Once we ordered, our food came out within 5 minutes. Not only was the food fast but it had a clean presentation and was delicious. Stopped here on our roadtrip right when they opened and got our food pretty fast. Both of the burgers buns were burnt pretty badly and resulted in a very crunchy and burnt tasting burger. Shoudlnt have been served to us but we still ate it. The fries were also very salty read more

This is the second time that i have been through this locations drive through and they had us wait in the handicap parking for our food then completely forgot about us. I understand that they get busy but it is upsetting to be told to wait then see 10-15 other people leaving with their food from the drive through. We simply ordered 2 burgers and 2 fries, how come we were told to wait and why were we forgotten about. I had to go in to remind them i was waiting for my food and the manager himself who was supposed to bring the food out to us said he had forgotten. I'm not sure what's going on with this location but the buns here are really really bad. They fall apart 2 bites into the burger I mean soggy fall into pieces then the burger isn't edible. The fries undercooked & burgers need to be cooked a minute or 2 longer... We've only been to this location twice but it's been the same problems both times, we will continue to go to the Meridian location. read more

They definitely have some kinks to work out. Burger was fine but cool in temperature from the 10-15 minute drive home. I don't know what's up with their fries but they were NOT good. The taste dehydrated, kind of like those pik-nik snacks from decades past. Very dry. Paper burger was wrapped in melted into the outside of the burger so I had to be careful not to consume bits of paper. Overall a lackluster experience. I enjoyed all my visits in Cali at those locations. My suggestion, eat your burger within minutes of getting it, and skip the fries.
