Due to the saturation of hot chicken places around the city, places like Bad Chx aren't going to be on my radar. I made the exception one night, after I was told to come check it out and the fact that it was open until 3am on weekends.. Two super nice men from Jordan run the truck and do a good job of getting orders out on a consistent pace. Their English is excellent and they keep the truck clean and orderly. I am still tickled by the platform palet on the ground for patrons looking to order. I ordered a slew of items ranging from the cheesy chicken sandwich, their loaded fries, along with several tenders, and their mac and cheese bites. I am not a spice seeker but going on the staff's recommendation, I'm glad I chose the wild spice. Nothing was too greasy or difficult to eat, but the mac and cheese bites loved up to the hype, as did the chicken. The loaded fries were nothing special, but a hearty option for anyone trying to sober up through food. I am not particularly fond of the tacos or burritos, but this merely a personal preference. I've seen this truck at the local gas station for at least a couple of years, since I moved to the Medical Center area, and I've been curious. The cost of food has made me a bit leary, because I've paid tens of dollars for food from food trucks that don't equal the quality of the food. I was extra cautious when I saw the images of chicken tenders being used on the sandwich, instead of a chicken breast. Last week, I just threw caution to the wind and my kiddo and I went all in....and...it...was...worth it! Prices still make my head spin, especaily when I saw that there was an option for one or two tenders on a bun. Well, the size of the tenders were like a scene from The Flintstones (Google it, Gen Xers!) where when you ask for ribs you get dinosaur sized ribs. Theses tenders were huge...and the taste was just as huge! Very flavorable, indeed! Can't leave out the fries, which were seasoned to perfection! Loaded fries 4/5 Overall a pretty good hot chicken addition to the Houston area! They have a good variety of options from tenders to sliders to fries. I think the biggest pro is that they do not skimp on the portion size of the fries and that they give you a good range of option to pick for your level of spice. However when I bit into the sandwich, I felt that the bread was too thick and it didn't allow me to appreciate the other ingredients inside. The chicken also felt dry. Review is for the food truck in the medical center area visited on Aug 7. Boss was craving fried chicken and the hospital we work at didn't have their regular giant wing Wednesday ... so I did a search and Bad Chx comes up 1.5 miles away. I didn't do any research prior to ordering, just gave them a call and ordered a 5pc wing (hot) and a 5pc drumstick (hot). The guy that answered didn't seem like he was in a good mood. He took my order, told me it would be ready in 20 and hung up, didn't ask my name or anything. Arrive in about 15 and the phone guy is at the window and as I walk up, he says "Yeah?" Not a "hi, welcome to ..." or any greeting as you expect when about to give your money to a small business. But I'm not sure why I expected more due to his attitude on the phone. I inform him that I called in an order, and he ask "hot?" I state yes and he grabs my order, bags it and rings me up.... $21 for a 5-pc wing and 5-pc legs and 2 slices of toast! I get in the car to inspect my order, and both the wings and legs were on the small side and there were no fries. When you look at their menu online, then click on meals, you get pictures of chicken with fries and toast and that is what I expected to see in the box. I read the description and fries are not included. Go back to the truck and order fries and that was an additional $5 for some fries with no seasoning and pulled from the oil early. Once ready, he hands them to me and walks away. The other guy in the truck put his hand out to take them back and bagged them up for me. But again, no thanks for stopping by/come again/hope you enjoy/tell a friend.... nothing. As for the chicken, it was fried to perfection, nice crunchy breading but no heat whatsoever. If I had to describe, it would be like they lightly sprinkled some tabasco sauce. Doubt we'll be returning anytime soon. read more

First the food was pretty good for what I got. But as you can see in the picture the bun to tender ratio sucks lol (you do pick the amount of tenders yourself). The sandwich was veryyyy saucy so if that's not your style I would skip this place. Obviously the fries were super saucy as well but I mean it's loaded fries so I'll give it a pass. The price was kind of high to say it's literally fried chicken but it wasn't absurd. The brightly colored red & blue food truck is located in an unassuming gas station parking lot. It was rather quiet with a few people waiting in their cars for their orders. So happy we circled around to try! We ordered a burrito and the loaded fries. My partner's burrito was fully stuffed with chicken and a flaming Cheeto covered mozzarella stick!
